NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah weighs in on the Kansas City Chiefs' 2025 schedule

The Kansas City Chiefs are attempting to make their fourth consecutive trip to the Super Bowl in 2025. NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah appeared as a guest on 'The Rich Eisen Show' to share his thoughts on their chances in the new season. "I'm looking at that schedule, and I'm looking at the Baltimore Ravens; that is a really good football team right there. I'm not saying they're going to lose all of these games, but when you look on there, and you see Baltimore and Detroit (Lions) and Buffalo (Bills), two games with Denver (Broncos) and (Los Angeles) Chargers always play them tough," said Jeremiah. "Gosh, you're going to go play on Thanksgiving and on Christmas; those are short weeks. I don't know. To me, they're going to be a playoff team, and they're going to be a 12-plus-win team. I just thought 15-2, I couldn't get to 15-2. They feel more like a 12-5 type team to me." The Chiefs will play seven prime-time games in 2025, the most of any team in the NFL. Their Week 1 game in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers is another unique aspect of their journey. Kansas City won a franchise record 15 games in 2024 and went undefeated at home during the regular season and playoffs.

Chiefs Prediction is Bad News In 2025

Chiefs Prediction is Bad News In 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Many folks are hopping off the Kansas City Chiefs bandwagon in 2025 with a host of reasons why. Some think the talent isn't there, while others believe the AFC West has improved, so the Chiefs won't have it all their own way. Others think the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles has marked the beginning of the end of the Kansas City dynasty. Advertisement All of which could be seen as valid reasons. After a 15-2 regular season and winning the AFC, the Chiefs are still a formidable team, and until they fall off the proverbial cliff, we aren't about to cut ties. NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, who was a guest on the Rich Eisen Show, has the Chiefs taking a slight step back in 2025. 'To me, they're going to be a playoff team,' Jeremiah said. 'They're going to be a 12-plus win team, I just thought 15 and two, I couldn't get to 15 and two, so I would be more like 12. It feels more like a 12 and five type team to me.' Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) Denny Medley-Imagn Images Now, a 12-5 season would be a "regression" based on last year, but that isn't a big drop off. Advertisement Plus, we feel that a step back is inevitable given the Chiefs were 11-0 in one-score games in 2024, that can't happen again, right? So, the law of averages evens things out, but a 12-5 season would still make Kansas City a playoff team; we are just unsure where that would have them in the AFC seeding. Still, that record will be nothing to sneeze at with the Chiefs coming into the season looking to prove a host of people wrong and that they aren't about to finally drop off and sink into the chasing pack. Jeremiah has Kansas City winning 12 games, and we think, right now, Chiefs Kingdom would take that. Cam Skattebo signs $5.3 million rookie contract with NY Giants: See the details

EAST RUTHERFORD - Physicality has always been Cam Skattebo's calling card. It's the common thread in his game from the streets of his northern California hometown where he would don his other brother's helmet and shoulder pads as a kid and prove his toughness by running into telephone poles, to Sacramento State and then Arizona State. Advertisement Now the star running back is signed and ready to deliver as a promising rookie for the New York Giants, who selected Skattebo with the 105th pick of the fourth round in the 2025 NFL Draft. Cam Skattebo contract details Skattebo's four-year contract is worth $5.3 million, including a $1.1 million signing bonus, an individual with knowledge of the financial details told and The Record. He was the final signee of the widely praised draft class headlined by linebacker Abdul Carter and quarterback Jaxson Dart. "I don't know if I have ever seen a more aggressive runner who just seeks out contact and who can absorb contact," NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah said of Skattebo. "Gosh, more than anything, he reminds me of a Plinko chip from 'The Price is Right,' bouncing off everything and everybody." Eat Rutherford, NJ -- May 9, 2025 -- Cam Skattebo talks to the media following practice at Giants Rookie Minicamp. Skattebo's presence has been undeniable at every stop in his football journey, and what he brings to the Big Apple fits the profile of a Giant in every sense of the word. Advertisement Asked how he would describe his playing style, Skattebo said: "Physical, downhill, get-to-the-end-zone back. I love to score touchdowns. That's what I do." The 5-foot-9 1/2, 219-pounder insists he has always played this way, joking that he barreled over a defender once or twice on the youth football fields of Rio Linda, California, at the age of 6. Once he got to college, Skattebo simply broke tackles or ran through defenders. Scouts have said he plays more like a linebacker than a running back. He does not shy away from contact, and was an icon in his hometown even before, as a junior, he rushed for 3,550 yards and 42 touchdowns in a single season. What Cam Skattebo brings to NY Giants Skattebo was viewed as an ideal complement to Tyrone Tracy, who finished his rookie campaign last year as the Giants' lead back. His value as a receiver has been overlooked throughout the pre-draft evaluation process, and the more opportunities Skattebo gets this summer, he will go after an immediate role in the backfield with Tracy and veteran Devin Singletary. Advertisement So how does Skattebo go from the teenager who was told he was too small and too slow to play for USC, UCLA and others when the coaches came through Garceau's office on recruiting visits to the best player on the field in the Big 12 Championship Game who wound up flexing his muscles and holding a title belt presented to him by WWE stars Jey Uso and Sami Zayn? 'I've been disrespected my whole life. I've always been the underdog,' Skattebo said. 'Nobody respects the fact that I'm the best running back in the country. And I'm going to stand on that. I'm going to keep proving people wrong.' The numbers don't lie with Scattebo, screaming out what makes him rare at any level. Like how 1,202 of his 1,712 rushing yards came after contact last season, or how he forced 103 missed tackles, second most in the nation. Scattebo had 45 runs of 10 or more yards and 21 runs of 15 or more yards with 21 touchdowns rushing and three touchdowns receiving. Advertisement "He's tough as nails," Giants coach Brian Daboll said of Scattebo, who gives off Ahmad Bradshaw vibes. "You can use him a variety of ways. Pass game, he can catch, he can run routes, he can throw the ball ... and he's got very good vision and quick feet. He's a 220-pound back who runs with power and toughness." Skattebo promises to keep treating defenders like those telephone poles he used to bounce off - not only by proving himself to those who still doubt whether he can, but to anyone on the field that tries to stop him.
