Man Utd star's damning response to Rasmus Hojlund X-rated dig in Leeds friendly

Manchester United drew a familiar blank in attack against Leeds in Stockholm on Saturday - and there were potentially worrying signs for Ruben Amorim as he attempts to turn things around Rasmus Hojlund showed his disgust after Diogo Dalot failed to find him with a pass in Manchester United 's friendly against Leeds on Saturday. United drew 0-0 with the newly-promoted Premier League side in Stockholm in a drab start to their pre-season campaign. ‌ Ruben Amorim gave an unofficial debut to £62.5million signing Matheus Cunha, who was one of the only positive takeaways from the match. Otherwise it followed a familiar theme for the club, who finished a lowly 15th last season and are expected to improve in 2025/26. ‌ Hojlund managed 10 goals in 52 appearances for United last season, only four of which came in the league, and he often cut a frustrated figure up front. That continued on Saturday in the Swedish capital – and the Danish striker wasn't shy in letting his team-mates know. ‌ Hojlund was looking for Dalot to pass the ball in behind the Leeds defence, but it came later than he wanted it, meaning he was likely offside. "F*** sake," he yelled in Dalot's direction. The Portuguese full-back wasn't interested in hearing his moans and simply ignored him and jogged on. The lack of a link-up between the two United players was evident later in the game too. Dalot did find Hojlund with a cross, only for his header to be deflected, while the young striker was shouting at Dalot again later on after he opted to pass to Patrick Dorgu instead of him. This is a make or break pre-season for Amorim, but he clearly isn't concerned about the atmosphere around the squad, who are missing Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho, who have been banished. ‌ "The environment is really good, of course sometimes we are going to struggle, but what I felt in the first moment is that if we are going to struggle, we will struggle together," Amorim told MUTV post-match. "That is the beginning of everything, then we have to put the quality. This club is not just about the effort, it's about the quality, we have to win games." ‌ He added: "We need to create that bond between everybody [on the United States tour] - not just between the players but the staff. All the changes are stopping. We need to leave that as a group. We have a lot to improve, the speed of the game, all of the details. We need to improve." Amorim was clear on what the main problem was. "We have a lack of pace,' he said. 'Especially in the middle of the park, you can feel it's hard to bring the ball. We created chances. We have a lot to do but it was a first test against a Premier League team with two different teams, a good test. "Matheus Cunha showed what we need, a player in between the lines who is really aggressive. We watched that during last season for a different team. We expect the same thing. "You can see the connection with him and Bruno Fernandes is still not there. But it will be a good connection, because you can put a player like Kobbie Mainoo or Mason Mount there. We need to increase our quality in the final third." Join our new MAN UTD WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Manchester United content from Mirror Football. The Open: Rory McIlroy aiming to chase down Scottie Scheffler as fourth round tee times unveiled

The Holywood man fired himself back into contention with a five-under 66 on Saturday to reach eight-under-par and a tie for fourth, which leaves him six behind the World No.1, who carded a 67 of his own to reach 14-under and open up a four-shot lead. McIlroy will be the first of the pair on the course on Sunday as he tees off at 2:20pm alongside Matt Fitzpatrick, who is at nine-under, with Scheffler finishing the tournament off at 2:30pm when he begins his round in the company of nearest challenger Haotong Li, who is 10-under. Earlier in the day, Shane Lowry will begin his final round at 9am when he plays with Danish star Jacob Skov Olesen, who held a share of the overnight lead after the opening day, while Germany's Matti Schmid, who has Castledawson's Chris Selfridge on the bag, leads the day off in the opening group at 8:30am. Other notable groups see Sam Burns and Rickie Fowler, who are both two-under, tee off at 10:55am, 15 minutes before Akshay Bhatia and Jon Rahm get their final rounds under way on the same score. Ludhiana police arrest three in connection with Jawahar Nagar firing to threaten hotelier before court testimony.

Ludhiana: A hotelier's courtroom duty meets a prisoner's deathly itinerary. In a chilling plot stretching from a city prison to Europe, police say a jailed murder accused conspired to intimidate a witness by orchestrating a targeted shooting at the victim's home — carried out by teenage assailants with imported weapons. Three people, including a 16-year-old boy, have been arrested by the special cell of the Ludhiana police commissionerate in connection with a July 14-15 shooting in Jawahar Nagar. The incident, as police claim, was an attempt to threaten hotelier Kanwaljit Kumar into not testifying in the July 22 court hearing for his brother's murder case. Police have linked the conspiracy to Darpan, an inmate of Ludhiana Central Jail, who is on trial for the 2023 murder of Kanwaljit's brother, Harjinder 'Jindi' Kumar. Investigators say Darpan coordinated the attack from inside prison using external aides — including one based in Europe — and assigned the shooting to a team of local youth. Conspiracy spanned continents Commissioner of police Swapan Sharma has said Darpan contacted his Europe-based associate Namit Sharma, who has seven FIRs (first-information reports) registered against him and is now on the run. Namit allegedly passed instructions to Aman Sharma, who arranged the team to carry out the shooting. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The arrested individuals have been identified as Manya Sharma, Kushveer Singh Guri, and a juvenile, all residents of Jawahar Nagar. "Manya along with the juvenile and a fugitive named Akshay executed the shooting," Sharma said. "Manya fired a shot using an imported pistol while riding pillion on a scooter driven by the juvenile, with Akshay on board as well." The attack took place outside Kanwaljit Kumar's home. Just an hour earlier, the same shooters had allegedly fired at Pratham, manager of Kanwaljit's hotel near the city's bus stand. Pratham escaped unhurt. Weapons, cash, shelter supplied The broader support network includes Kushveer and Danish, who provided shelter and financial backing, police have said. Namit also arranged the weapons, including an imported pistol capable of burst fire, cops have added. Five pistols, nine magazines, and 30 live cartridges were recovered, along with the scooter used in the crime. Inspector Navdeep Singh, who heads the special cell, said the shooters had been promised ₹1 lakh for the task. Witness still on hit list Despite the attack, Kanwaljit continues to receive threats, including calls from a Haryana-based gangster warning him not to testify, claim police sources. Authorities have since provided him with protection. Jailed accused to face questioning Police plan to bring Darpan out on a production warrant to investigate how he managed to coordinate the plot from behind bars and establish the source of the weapons. Boxer tells of heartbreak after miscarriage and vows to regain world titles

Boxer Dina Thorslund has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage last week. The 31-year-old held the WBO and WBC Bantamweight titles until June but was forced to relinquish the WBO title due to her pregnancy and was demoted to the WBC's 'champion in recess.' Thorslund had been due to defend her titles against then-IBF titleholder Shurretta Metcalf on the undercard of Katie Taylor's bout with Amanda Serrano last week at the MVP promoted event at Madison Square Garden in New York. Writing in Danish, Thorslund revealed the news on her Instagram account in a post in her native Danish. In the translated post, Thorslund said that the feelings were "big and sad, but life happens and then we have to keep up with it and adapt in the best way." In the same post, the former champion vowed to regain the titles from Cherneka Johnson after she beat Metcalf on July 11t: "I know I need to take care of myself and so do I and my family but I also need to work on something. "That's why I asked my manager @mostvaluablepromotions to contact my promoters @leeeaton and asked boxing to get my titles back before the new year. It's @sugar_neekz who is "holding them for me" right now, and it's a match I'm very much looking forward to!" A professional since 2015, Thorslund boasts an incredible undefeated record of 23-0, with her most recent fight taking place in October 2024 when she defeated Terumi Nuki by unanimous decision.
