Krishna Puri residents protest over dirty water, supply issues

1 2 Jaipur: Residents of Krishna Puri, Ward 43, staged a massive protest at Panchmukhi Chowraha over the lack of clean drinking water and poor water supply management Thursday. They accused local authorities of ignoring their repeated complaints and expressed anger over being excluded from the Bisalpur water project. Congress councilor Dashrath Singh Shekhawat and BJP candidate Virendra Singh Solanki also joined this protest. "This is no longer about party politics. Basic needs like drinking water are being denied to an entire ward. It's shameful," said Shekhawat. Solanki added, "The people here have been suffering for years while projects are launched only for show." Three officials from Jaipur Municipal Corporation-Heritage (JMC-H), AEN Naina Sharma, XEN Ajit Yadav, and Bhanwar Singh, faced backlash from the crowd on arrival. They were made to sit on the ground with the protestors."We want answers not more promises. Our children drink dirty water while millions are spent on tanks we never benefit from," said a protester. MLA Gopal Sharma who arrived at the site after three hours and was met with heavy criticism. People accused him of neglecting their needs post-election. It had been inaugurated twice, once during the Congress regime and again by the MLA two months ago. Neighborhoods like Azad Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Shiv Colony, and Ramrajpura participated in the protest. They vowed larger protests if their demands remained unmet.
