PM announces extra public holiday on Sept 15 for Malaysia Day

KUCHING (July 23): Malaysians will enjoy an additional public holiday this Sept 15 in conjunction with this year's Malaysia Day celebration.
In announcing this, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the special public holiday, which falls on a Monday, is declared to honour the spirit of unity and the significance of the formation of Malaysia.
'This holiday is to appreciate the bond of unity and the uniqueness of Malaysia's formation.
'It is also to encourage our people to connect with their families and loved ones or to enjoy a vacation within the country,' he said during a special live broadcast today.
