Teyana Taylor, Ben Marshall, Zach Cherry & Kam Patterson Join Netflix's Kevin Hart Comedy ‘72 Hours'
Teyana Taylor (Straw), Ben Marshall (Saturday Night Live's Please Don't Destroy), Zach Cherry (Severance) and rising stand-up comic Kam Patterson (of Kill Tony fame) are new additions to Netflix's Kevin Hart comedy 72 Hours, the studio has announced. Character details are under wraps, but we understand that the project marks Patterson's feature debut. As previously announced, Marcello Hernández and Mason Gooding will also star. Tim Story (Think Like a Man, Ride Along franchises) is directing from a script by Kevin Burrows & Matt Mider and Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg. Producers on the project include John Davis for Davis Entertainment; Hurwitz, Schlossberg and Josh Heald for Counterbalance Entertainment; Hart, Luke Kelly-Clyne & Bryan Smiley for Hartbeat; Will Packer; and Story for The Story Company. Focus Features has set an August 22 theatrical release for Ethan Coen's upcoming dark comedy Honey Don't! The movie stars Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, Billy Eichner and Chris Evans in a story about Honey O'Donahue, a small-town private investigator who delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church. Hugh Jackman & Kate Hudson Musical Song Sung Blue Gets Release Date, First Photo
Focus Features has revealed the release date and first photo of , an upcoming musical drama starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. Jackman and Hudson posted the photo on their respective social media channels. The movie features the songs of Neil Diamond, and the photo teases a performance by the duo in front of a keyboard. 'Loved every second making this beautiful film,' Hudson wrote on Instagram. Working with the most lovely work husband you could ask for, Hugh Jackman, singing the iconic songs of Neil Diamond.' Focus Features has set Song Sung Blue for a wide release on December 25, 2025. Per the logline, 'Song Sung Blue tells the inspiring true story of two down-on-their-luck performers who form a joyous Neil Diamond tribute band, proving it's never too late to find love and follow your dreams.' Michael Imperioli, Fisher Stevens, Jim Belushi, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, and Hudson Hilbert Hensley also star. Craig Brewer writes and directs Song Sung Blue, which is based on Greg Kohs' 2008 documentary of the same name. Brewer has experience directing musical dramas, notably the Academy Award-winning Hustle & Flow. Brewer also directed the remake of Footloose and executive produced Katy Perry's Part of Me concert film. Brewer produces Song Sung Blue alongside Davis Entertainment's John Davis and John Fox. Jackman and Hudson are both well-versed in musical roles. Jackman is a Tony Award-winning actor who recently had a two-year run on Broadway as Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man. Jackman also won a Golden Globe for playing Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. In 2024, Hudson released her debut album, Glorious. Hudson won multiple critics' awards for portraying Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous. The Running Point actress also had a memorable guest run on Glee as Cassandra July. Kevin Hart, Tim Story reunite for Netflix comedy 72 Hours
Kevin Hart and director Tim Story are reuniting for a new comedy film titled 72 Hours, which is set to premiere on Netflix. The project sees Hart playing a 40-year-old executive who tries to salvage his struggling career by joining a group of twenty-somethings on a chaotic three-day bachelor party, after being accidentally included in their group text. This marks the fifth collaboration between Hart and Story, following their successful partnerships on the Think Like a Man and Ride Along franchises. These films were major box-office hits, collectively grossing over $445 million worldwide. The script for 72 Hours is penned by Matt Mider & Kevin Burrows, along with Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg. The film is produced by Hart's Hartbeat, Davis Entertainment, Counterbalance, and Will Packer Productions, with Ross Fanger serving as an executive producer. The project is part of a collaboration between Sony Pictures and Netflix, under which Sony provides Netflix with a first-look at its upcoming films for streaming. This new comedy promises to offer a fresh take on the genre, continuing Hart and Story's successful partnership.

The project, based on Ali and Anthony Garland's short story, is currently being developed with the twosome penning the screenplay. Fake Wedding follows two broke singles who throw a fake wedding to cash in on the registry and the very real problems the make-believe couple encounters.
