Hibs players fully focused on Europa League Qualifier
The Hibs players are now fully focused on Thursday's Europa League Qualifier versus FC Midtjylland following Saturday's final pre-season match says Chris Cadden. The wing-back understands improvements must be made from the performance, but insists the team are now looking forward to our upcoming European clash. 'It was a tough test for us, as we knew it would be. It's good to get the final game out of the way. 'We know we need to improve, the gaffer's highlighted that as well. But all in all, it's been a good pre-season, so we'll be ready to go on Thursday. 'There's a lot of improvement to do, we know that ourselves, but we're full steam ahead for Thursday, which is the most important thing.' Speaking to HibsTV, Cadden reflected further on pre-season: 'I think we've played good quality opposition in pre-season. There's been no easy games, it's been tough right from the start. 'Bolton was no different, they were a tough, physical side. It's good to test ourselves, because Midtjylland on Thursday, they'll be a good team as well. There's a lot to improve on, a lot to get better at, we know that. The match also served as a richly-deserved Testimonial Match for Hibs stalwart Darren McGregor. Cadden, who played alongside McGregor at Hibernian, was delighted to see the reception Daz received at Easter Road while celebrating the day with his family. 'It's brilliant. He deserves every bit of it. Everybody who comes to Hibs knows Daz, knows his story, how well he's done to get to the level he got. 'A really good player, what a leader as well. But most importantly, the person, really great. Great to have in the dressing room, a real leader of men. What you see is what you get with Big Daz. 'It's nothing short of what he deserves. It's great that the cCub's done that for him and it's fully deserved for Big Daz. I hope he had a great day with his family as well.' Like this: Like Related

Darren McGregor grateful to still be at Hibs
Darren McGregor is 'grateful' to still be at Hibs, 10-years after joining his boyhood heroes. The former Hibs defender, and current Under-19s Head Coach, reached 10 years with the Club this summer and was granted a testimonial for his excellent service to the Club. He watched on at Easter Road Stadium with his family and friends as Hibs went down 2-0 in a competitive encounter to Bolton Wanderers. 'I am really, really grateful,' he told HibsTV. 'I came here as a fan at the age of 29 and I've been lucky enough to stay here for 10 years. 'I've been a player, a mentor and a coach. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be at a club I've been a supporter of since I was a kid. 'And I'm grateful to still be here trying to influence the next generation and try and get as many younger lads into the First Team as possible.' Daz, who was initially intending to play in match, was able to walk out with the match ball alongside his family, as well as speak on the pitch at half-time alongside a number of fellow Hibs heroes. On a special day for the 2016 Scottish Cup winner, McGregor insisted all that mattered was his family enjoying the occasion and making memories for the years ahead. 'My kids can't quite remember me playing, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing! 'But for them to see the pitch today, to have the strip with my name written on the front of it which is a wee memento for them. 'In years to come, they can always look back and say, 'My Dad got a testimonial at the Hibees'. That is the most important thing for me.' Plenty has changed at the Club since Daz's time as a player at Easter Road, but these changes are all for the better according to the man himself. 'The Club has came on leaps and bounds. You only need to look at the infrastructure. 'You look at the pitch, the stadium, the fan experience, the training ground – which massive investment is being put into, which is largely down to the Gordon family, who have been unbelievably kind and generous to Hibs – so hopefully we can get success, because ultimately that is what you want. 'You want to play European football, win cups and finish as high in the league as you can. I think with this squad, having seen it, there is two players for every position. 'We are definitely in a good place.' Like this: Like Related

I know I'm hot but I wasn't prepared for the legion of thirsty women after I posted a torso shot on Facebook Marketplace
A MAN trying to flog a kids' white desk on Facebook Marketplace was stunned when he became the thing people wanted to buy. Daz Gracie had a legion of thirsty Advertisement 3 Daz decided to help his mum out and shift some of the furniture in her new house Credit: Kennedy News 3 The single man was shocked by what happened next Credit: Kennedy News 3 The image soon caught people's attention, but not for the reason Daz expected Credit: Kennedy News The single man posted photos of the pink and white children's desk on a Facebook Freecycle page in a bid to free up space and inadvertently captured his toned tum in one of the mirrors. The 37-year-old says he didn't plan for his abs to make a guest appearance in the mirrored lid but when he realised, posted it anyway. The loft insulation installer said 'within 20 seconds' the desk had been claimed and his phone 'went wild' with messages from women desperate to claim him and leave the desk. The viral post, which racked up almost 4,000 likes, shares and comments, left Daz 'laughing his head off' and claiming that Facebook ads might be the future of dating. "I took some pictures, then I noticed my torso was in it. Don't get me wrong I love a topless selfie but I could get a lot better one than that. "All the lads were like 'Daz I know what you're like' but honestly if I was meant to be in it I would have put my face in it as well. I'm a savvy mum & give my kids £10 charity shop shoes for Christmas but have a way to make them look like new £70 pair "I had people messaging me from Canada and America too, it went worldwide and it's still going. "The desk went in about 20 seconds, a woman from over the road took it." Advertisement Single Daz admits that despite being a 'good-looking chap' the situation has been 'good for the ego'. Daz said: "I'm not on the dating apps. I think I'm a good-looking chap anyway, I get plenty of messages. "I've only been single about seven months and I was with my partner for a while. "Having a lot of thirsty women after me on Facebook is definitely good for the ego. "My advice to any single blokes struggling to get messages on dating apps - get a picture on 'items for sale' and see what happens. Your luck could change." Top tips when buying on Facebook Marketplace Be scammer-aware As a general rule of thumb, deal locally, and face-to-face. If someone asks you to ship an item, be wary. Only use secure methods of payment, look at buyer and seller reviews, and inspect an item closely before purchasing it. Stick to Messenger to communicate as well. Choose wealthy areas to get high-end items at low prices A well-to-do person who is selling something on Marketplace probably doesn't know or doesn't care what their item is worth. This is a jackpot scenario for a buyer. Don't be afraid to haggle If an item has been listed for weeks, offer 25% below the list price. It's likely the seller will counter offer, but you'll still get the item for less than originally priced. Don't send the auto-filled 'Is this item still available?' message If you notice an item is well-priced and desirable, and you really like it, don't wait around. Send a friendly opening message with an offer, and make the transaction hassle-free for the seller. Keep search items as broad as possible Assume the seller doesn't know exactly what they have, where it's from, what the material is, what the design style is, or how much it's worth—and cast a wide net. Daz's Facebook post reads: "Child's desk free to collect near Barnsley town centre. Thank you." One woman wrote: "Can I be considered, please, but not for the desk? Another commented: "Free cycle the future of dating."
