Actor Julian McMahon dies at 56 after long battle with cancer
Julian McMahon, the charismatic Australian-American actor known for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and Fantastic Four, has died at the age of 56 after a prolonged battle with wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement to Deadline.'Julian passed away peacefully this week after a courageous battle to beat cancer,' she said. He began his career in modeling before becoming a familiar face on Australian television. He made a successful leap to US television with roles in Another World and Profiler, before achieving cult status as Cole Turner in Charmed. But it was his performance as the charmingly flawed Dr. Christian Troy in FX's Nip/Tuck that cemented his legacy. The role earned him a Golden Globe nomination and widespread critical the big screen, McMahon is best known for his portrayal of Victor Von Doom, also known as Dr. Doom, in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). His movie credits also include appearances in Premonition, RED, and recently, McMahon played the lead character of Jess LaCroix on CBS's FBI: Most Wanted, starring for three years before leaving in 2022.
