Now postmen to deliver CBI Bengaluru's bank fraud branch legal notices

The CBI's Banking Security and Fraud branch and Anti-Corruption branch in Bengaluru will now deliver summonses and legal notices by postmen, replacing the traditional method of manual delivery by investigators as a move to improve efficiency and agency's Banking Security and Fraud Branch and Anti-Corruption Branch signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka Circle of the Department of Posts on Wednesday to operationalise this to an official statement released on Thursday, the initiative will not only ensure secure, trackable, and timely delivery of legal communications but also lead to significant savings in travel and daily allowances. This will also enable more efficient use of manpower for core investigation duties. As part of the MoU, the dispatch and delivery of summons and legal notices will be done through India Post's Speed Post 'Book Now Pay Later (BNPL)' service and India Post will supply specially designed envelopes and Proof of Delivery (POD) cards bearing the Chief Bureau of Investigation logo and return addresses. These items will be collected directly from Chief Bureau of Investigation offices and delivered to recipients across the country. Signed Proof of Delivery cards confirming delivery will be returned to the Chief Bureau of Investigation, with full tracking available via the India Post centralised dispatch will be managed through the RT Nagar Head Post Office in Bengaluru, with pickup services available on all working days. 'Delivery timelines will range from one to five days, with provisions for re-delivery and free return of undelivered items. It enhances transparency, accountability and delivery efficiency, particularly in rural and remote areas and serves as a model of synergy and inter-agency collaboration in public service delivery," the statement by Debosmita Maity IN THIS STORY#Karnataka

A child trafficking racket spanning multiple states has come to light in Telangana's Suryapet district, where police have arrested thirteen individuals and rescued ten babies, officials confirmed on on reliable information regarding illegal adoptions, police apprehended the accused from various villages in Suryapet and Nalgonda districts. Ten children, including seven boys and three girls, were rescued and handed over to the Children Welfare Centre in Nalgonda, according to Suryapet District Superintendent of Police, K those arrested is a couple from Suryapet town who acted as mediators. They allegedly identified childless couples and offered to sell them children, bypassing all legal adoption procedures. The price for each child ranged between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh, depending on negotiations with other accused who trafficked the babies. Preliminary investigation suggests that the children were brought in from Gujarat and Maharashtra. However, police said this information is yet to be verified. Some of the accused had reportedly been involved in similar cases in Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai in the also questioned several adoptive parents who allegedly failed to follow due legal procedures for adoption.A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, and further investigation is by Debosmita Maity IN THIS STORY#Telangana

A young couple was filmed while engaging in a public display of affection through the sunroof of a moving car on Trinity Road. The incident was filmed by riders following the vehicle. The video went viral on social media and showed the duo engaging in intimate acts while the car was in motion, drawing widespread criticism car, reportedly bearing a Karnataka-registration number, was seen moving along the busy central road as the couple stood out of the sunroof. One social media user, tagged Bengaluru City Police on the video, urging authorities to take action for reckless driving and public video voiceover requested that the police catch the young couple at the earliest and inform their parents, too, about their 'indecent acts'. A similar act of public display of affection was caught on camera last month on April 12 at a metro station. A couple were filmed engaging in 'inappropriate behaviour' at the Madavara metro station platform. The clip showed the couple displaying intimate acts in public while other passengers, which included elderly citizens, were nearby.
