Elon Musk issues rare apology to Trump after explosive Epstein accusation
Elon Musk issues rare apology to Trump after explosive Epstein accusation originally appeared on TheStreet. Elon Musk has walked back his recent attacks on Donald Trump, posting a rare apology on X: 'I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.' The olive branch comes after days of escalating rhetoric between the two men. Musk, who once served on Trump's business council, had reignited tensions last week by blasting a federal spending proposal Trump supported. 'The so-called 'big, beautiful bill' is actually a massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill,' Musk wrote, mocking Trump's language. He dubbed it the 'Debt Slavery Bill.' The Tesla and SpaceX CEO also stirred outrage by claiming Trump's name would appear in the 'Epstein files,' alluding to a controversial court release related to Jeffrey Epstein's associates. Musk offered no evidence, leading to backlash even from critics of the president. The feud caught fire across social media and cable news, sparking debate among conservative influencers. Some defended Musk's pushback on government spending, while others warned he risked alienating Trump's massive political base. Musk's apology suggests a cooling of tensions—at least for now. Neither Musk nor Trump has indicated whether any private conversation took place to de-escalate things. The feud wasn't just political—it briefly rattled crypto markets. Following Musk's Epstein post, Bitcoin dipped nearly 4% in the span of hours, as traders speculated on potential fallout between the two influential figures. Elon Musk flips on attacks against Donald Trump: From mudslinging to ‘regretting'
After nearly a week of mudslinging and online sparring, Elon Musk has backtracked on his attacks against Donald Trump, softening his stance on the United States president, hinting at a possible truce and reconciliation between the two. In a post on X, Elon Musk admitted that some of his remarks about Donald Trump 'went too far.' 'I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,' Elon Musk said. The SpaceX founder served 130 days as a 'special government employee' at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), with a mandate to eliminate what he characterised as bloated government programmes. Days after bowing out of his role as one of Donald Trump's closest advisors and special government employee in the federal government, Elon Musk hammered the tax cuts and spending mega-bill as a 'disgusting abomination.' This marked the beginning of a week-long feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump. In a post on X, Elon Musk said, 'I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.' A day later, Elon Musk further criticised the spending bill, saying a new one should be drafted. 'No one who actually reads the bill should be able to stomach it,' he wrote on X. In response, a White House official said the federal government 'will not consult every policy decision with Elon Musk.' Determined to get the bill abolished, Elon Musk went on a tirade against it with calls to 'kill the bill'. 'Call your Senator, Call your Congressman, Bankrupting America is NOT ok! KILL the BILL,' he said. In another post shared on X, Elon Musk stated, 'This spending bill contains the largest increase in the debt ceiling in US history! It is the Debt Slavery Bill.' In his first response to Elon Musk's attacks, Donald Trump said the bill is 'incredible' and said 'don't know if he and Musk will have a great relationship anymore'. He blamed Musk's reaction on the decision to eliminate consumer tax credits for electric vehicles. 'Elon Musk is upset because we took away the EV mandate,' he said. Donald Trump also thought withdrawing a nominee to lead the NASA space agency whom the tech tycoon had backed was also one of the reasons, he thought, Musk was upset about. 'Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore. I was surprised,' Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. 'I'm very disappointed, because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here... All of a sudden, he had a problem. You saw a man who was very happy when he stood behind the Oval desk, and even with the black eye. I said, you want a little makeup? We'll get you a little makeup.' He also said that the Republicans would have won Pennsylvania without Elon Musk. Hitting back at Donald Trump over his Pennsylvania remarks, Elon Musk said, 'Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.' US President Donald Trump suggested on Thursday that he may terminate U.S. government contracts and subsidies given to Elon Musk's companies, as the public feud between the two men escalates over a tax and spending bill. Responding to this, Elon Musk said as Donald Trump mentioned cancelling his government contracts, 'SpaceX will begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft immediately' before taking a U-turn. He also responded 'yes' to a post on X calling for Donald Trump's impeachment. Elon Musk also said in a post that Donald Trump's tariffs will result in recession in second half of the year. Amid a spiralling feud with Donald Trump, Elon Musk claimed that Trump 's name is mentioned 'in the Epstein files' and added that it is the 'real reason they have not been made public.' 'Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT.' 'Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.' This came from the same Elon Musk who was seen jumping around the stage during Donald Trump's rallies during Presidential elections in an apparent show of his support for the Republican leader. But he also deleted this post later. After the explosive remark insinuating that Trump was withholding the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein because of his own presence in them, Elon Musk signaled he would move to cool tensions with the US President. But Donald Trump was in no mood to reconcile. A White House source recently claimed that Donald Trump was not interested in talking to Elon Musk. Cut to June 10, Elon Musk Elon Musk appears to be making a serious effort to get back in Donald Trump's good graces. He recently dropped a heart emoji on a video of Trump saying, 'I wish him [Elon Musk] well.' A day later, Elon Musk said he regrets some of the things he said about Trump.

Exclusive: Mark Cuban has a one-word reaction to Elon Musk and Donald Trump's explosive feud
Exclusive: Mark Cuban has a one-word reaction to Elon Musk and Donald Trump's explosive feud originally appeared on TheStreet. As the public fallout between Elon Musk and Donald Trump escalates, billionaire investor Mark Cuban had just one word to describe the chaos: 'popcorn.' In a brief exchange with TheStreet Roundtable, Cuban replied to a question about the Musk–Trump spat by simply writing, 'all I'll say is that I bought a bunch of popcorn.' When asked if he saw this coming, Cuban followed up with a blunt 'yes.' The feud between Musk and Trump intensified this week after Musk publicly criticized Trump's administration over the so-called 'One Big Beautiful Bill', a sweeping tax and spending package — calling it a 'Debt Slavery Bill.' In return, Trump threatened to terminate billions in government contracts with Musk's companies, including SpaceX and Tesla, claiming it would be the 'easiest way to save money in our budget.' But Musk didn't stop there. In a bombshell post on X, Musk wrote, 'Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!' The post sent shockwaves across social media and rattled markets. Tesla shares fell by 14%, while DJT, the stock tied to Trump's media company — dropped over 8% on the same day. Bitcoin also slipped nearly 4%. While both Trump and Musk have wielded significant influence in the crypto and tech markets, this very public breakup has caught even their closest allies off guard. Trump's press secretary offered a lukewarm response to Musk's claims, calling the post 'an unfortunate episode from Elon.' Trump says his 'great relationship' with Elon Musk could be over
Trump says his 'great relationship' with Elon Musk could be over originally appeared on TheStreet. President Donald Trump said that his once 'great relationship' with Elon Musk could be ending as he defends his 'great big beautiful bill." "I don't know if we will anymore," he said when the press asked him about his relationship with Musk. At press time, the entire crypto market is painted red. Bitcoin is trading at $103,932.49, down by 1.25% over the last 24 hours, as per Kraken. Earlier this week, when Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong hinted that the 'big, beautiful bill' could inflate U.S. debt and make Bitcoin the reserve currency, Musk agreed and replied with a U.S. flag to his post. Musk has since then took to social media X to publicly criticize President Trump's spending bill describing it as a "Debt Slavery Bill' and noting it would add trillions to the national deficit. He also called for Americans to contact their representatives and posted a Kill Bill-style image blasting the bill. Seeing Musk's vocal support against the bill, the crypto community also responded by making a meme coin of the same name. However, Musk is not the only billionaire who has opposed this bill. Pro-crypto billionaire Tim Draper slammed the bill and proposed that Bitcoin could be the only hedge against the overspending the U.S. government is hooked to. Billionaire Ray Dalio also echoed a similar sentiment saying that the U.S. might be close to a debt crisis. He said, "this dynamic leads to a self-reinforcing debt, money-printing, and inflation spiral." At the time of writing, Tesla shares (TSLA) have also been impacted and is trading at $310.50, down by 6.59%.
