50-Year-Old Chinese Woman Marries Son's Classmate, Reveals She Is Pregnant
Last Updated: The woman was reportedly encouraged by her son to pursue the relationship. A 50-year-old Chinese e-commerce entrepreneur, popularly known as 'Sister Xin" on Douyin (China's version of TikTok), has gone viral for her unconventional love story. She recently married her son's Russian classmate and revealed that she is now expecting a baby. A divorced mother who raised her son and daughter on her own, Sister Xin regularly shares glimpses of her lavish lifestyle with over 13,000 followers. According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), her unusual love story began six years ago when her son, Kaikai, invited three foreign classmates over for a Lunar New Year dinner. One of them was a tall (6'3") Russian student named Defu, who spoke fluent Chinese. He was so impressed by Sister Xin's cooking and hospitality that he extended his stay from one night to a full week. 'I was still young and attractive then. Defu kept in touch with me, sending gifts and surprises over the years," Sister Xin told the SCMP. At first, she wasn't interested in a relationship with him due to the big age gap (over 20 years), cultural differences, and her past divorce. But with her son's support, she eventually gave the relationship a chance. The couple officially registered their marriage earlier this year and have been travelling around China together since then. On June 8, Sister Xin posted a video on social media announcing her pregnancy. She said, 'Older pregnancies come with risks, but being with Defu makes it worth it." The baby is expected next spring, and the couple has already bought a baby cot. Their relationship has reportedly sparked a lot of discussion online. While some people support their love, others are doubtful. Another wrote, 'Will she move to Russia with Defu? She might be the same age as his parents. How will that work?" In response to the criticism, Sister Xin shared her prenatal check-up report and confidently said, 'Time will prove our love." In April, a 39-year-old woman from Aligarh eloped with her daughter's fiancé, just days before the planned wedding. As per NDTV, she'd allegedly taken Rs 3.5 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh.
