Free climbing fun on offer for over-60s at Prestatyn Leisure
Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL) is offering free entry to those aged 60 and up when attending a climbing experience at Prestatyn Leisure with a paying grandchild, or member of their family, who is over four years old. Jamie Groves, managing director at DLL, said: "This initiative is about celebrating the bond between grandparents and grandchildren, while encouraging physical activity for all ages. "It's a fantastic way for families to make memories together during the summer holidays. "We promised a summer to remember, and we are committed to giving all members of our community as many opportunities to make memories as possible!" The promotion runs from July 19 to August 31, every day of the week, from 10.30am until 8.30pm on weekdays and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. The scheme is open to Denbighshire residents only. SC2 Rhyl outdoor 'Splash Pad' reopens to the public
The outdoor splash area, designed for younger children, toddlers and infants, re-opened to the public on July 12 after 17 months of closure. SC2 water park closed in December 2023 following storm damage to its roof. The main water park area opened to the public on July 5. With no grand re-launch, the reopening was without fanfare - just a quiet return to business. Jamie Groves, Managing Director at Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL), said: 'It has been fantastic to see so many people enjoying the outdoor Splash Pad. "We have had a really tough 18 months with the waterpark being closed and we cannot thank our local community enough for their support during this difficult time. "Our team at SC2 is really excited to now be fully open for the holidays we are looking forward to another fabulous Summer in Rhyl. "As promised, SC2 is back bigger and better than before, so we can't wait to see the Splash Pad full of happy faces and families making memories once more." Hundreds of free tickets for 'taster sessions' were given away to residents by DLL to mark the reopening. The Splash Pad will be open weekends and over the holidays until the end of the summer. Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL) are blown away with the response to the release of 300 free outdoor Splash Pad tickets at SC2. After releasing the tickets online to local residents to experience the outdoor SC2 Splash Pad in an exciting 'taster day' today, all the tickets were snapped up in less than 45 minutes. For two session, DLL invited local residents to enjoy the waterpark as a free 'taster' for what's to come this weekend when the outdoor Splash Pad opens to the public. 'Splash Pad' at Rhyl's SC2 to re-open
The outdoor splash area, designed for younger children, toddlers and infants, is centred around a paddling pool. The water is 30cm at its deepest. The re-opening of the Splash Pad follows the return of the main £15 water park, which welcomed visitors again on July 5. The facility had been closed since December 2023 due to storm damage to its roof. A total of 300 free tickets for taster sessions went live earlier today (July 10) - these have since sold out. More than 600 free tickets were claimed in under 30 minutes for the taster sessions, which served as a thank you to the community for their support during the waterpark's closure for roof repairs.
