25 Nepo Babies Who Never "Made It," Despite Trying
Recently, Reddit user Chewie83 asked, "Who are some nepo babies that never made it despite every advantage they had going for them?" and there were some pretty brutal answers. Here are the celeb kids who people think have majorly failed to live up to their famous relatives. Jaden Smith (Jada Pinkett and Will Smith's son) Brooklyn Beckham (Victoria and David Beckham's son) Alexa Ray Joel (Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley's daughter) Nicola Peltz (billionaire Nelson Peltz's daughter) Cameron Douglas (Michael Douglas' son) Chet Hanks (Tom Hanks' son) Henry Hopper (Dennis Hopper's son) "I really think his dad, Dennis Hopper, is one of the best actors of the 20th century. His son made his debut in 2011 in Gus van Sant's movie Restless. I think he had decent talent; he could have been an indie actor, but turned out to have allegedly raped a girl (The case, as I remember, was settled out of court) He was in several James Franco projects after 2011 and now keeps a low profile."—Adept-Youth-7538Editor's note: Hopper denies the rape— of a 15-year-old girl when he was 20 — occurred. The lawsuit was brought by the girl's mother for emotional damages. The commenter is correct that the lawsuit was settled, and the allegation did not go to trial or lead to a criminal conviction. Sean Lennon (John Lennon and Yoko Ono's son) Jaycee Chan (Jackie Chan's son) Brooke Hogan (Hulk Hogan's daughter) And Nick Bollea/Nick Hogan (son of Hulk Hogan) Scott Eastwood (Clint Eastwood's son) Trace and/or Noah Cyrus (Billy Ray Cyrus' kids, and also Miley Cyrus' siblings) Barry van Dyke (Dick van Dyke's son) Lance Stroll (son of billionaire and Aston Martin chairperson Lawrence Stroll) Summer, Rain, and Liberty Phoenix (sisters of Joaquin and River Phoenix) Shadeur Sanders (Deion Sanders' son) Jake Bongiovi (Bon Jovi's son) Ishana Night Shyamalan (daughter of M. Night Shyamalan) And her sister Saleka Harley Quinn Smith (Kevin Smith's daughter) Bronny James (LeBron James' son) Sarah Paxton (Bill Paxton's cousin) Lourdes Leon (Madonna's daughter) And finally, Pete Rose Jr. (Pete Rose's son) What other nepo babies never made it? 'Flashback' (1990) Blu-Ray Review - Unlikely Buddy Comedy Is Harmless Fun
Dennis Hopper and Kiefer Sutherland make a screen team that spans generations in Flashback. Infamous '60s radical Huey Walker (Hopper) has been caught by the Feds and is headed for prison under the watchful eye of an uptight FBI agent (Sutherland). Easy enough, right? But when Huey turns the tables on his escort, the two are in for a ride that's anything but easy. Carol Kane, Paul Dooley, and Cliff De Young also star in this laugh-packed road trip (emphasis on trip)! For thoughts on Flashback, please check out my thoughts on No Streaming Required: Video Quality Flashback debuted on Blu-Ray in 2023 with an inconsistent digital AVC encoded 1080p transfer derived from an older master that could use a refresh with its various drawbacks. The transfer retains a respectable amount of natural film grain, although there appears to be some amount of processing applied. Subtle signs of print damage show up sporadically, but it is an overall clear viewing experience. This is a pretty soft image for most of the runtime, but some fine detail can be observed in the clothing and backgrounds. Colors are somewhat muted yet stand out in certain moments in terms of saturation. Black levels are irregular with crush and compression artifacts occasionally visible in this presentation. Skin tones are natural and consistent across the ensemble. This feature could get a nice uptick with a fresh master, but it does what you need it to if you don't mind a careless HD presentation. Audio Quality This Blu-Ray presents the film with a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track and a DTS-HD 2.0 Master Audio stereo track that are quite a bit better than the video side of things. The witty dialogue comes through clearly in tandem with all competing sounds. The environmental effects, such as rushing river water and train noises, are defined without turning into an auditory mess. The soundtrack presents an immersive experience for audiences. Nearly every tune emerges with a forthright fidelity, but you do hear the slightest bit of strain in some notes. Shout! Studios has done good work overall. Optional English SDH subtitles are provided. Special Features There are no special features provided on this disc. Final Thoughts Flashback is a pretty standard unlikely buddy comedy that plays well enough within the conventions. Kiefer Sutherland seems a bit too stiff for this role, but Dennis Hopper seems to be completely in his element. Carol Kane is a scene-stealer who allows that back half of the film to feel a bit more lively. This is a good candidate for a mindless weekend watch. Shout! Studios has provided a Blu-Ray featuring a dated A/V presentation and zero special features. Fans of the talent involved will want to seek it out, but casual audiences may want to sample before they buy. Flashback is currently available to purchase on Blu-Ray. Note: Images presented in this review are not reflective of the image quality of the Blu-Ray. Disclaimer: Shout! Studios has supplied a copy of this set free of charge for review purposes. DSH Hotel Advisors marks third hotel sale in Jacksonville market, US
US-based hotel brokerage and advisory firm DSH Hotel Advisors has facilitated the sale of the Candlewood Suites in Jacksonville, Florida, US. This sale represents the third hotel transaction DSH Hotel Advisors has closed in the Jacksonville market this year. The company represented both parties involved in the deal, with Mayport Lodging 2 acting as the seller, and Butler Lodging the purchaser. DSH Hotel Advisors managing principal and founder Dennis Hopper and senior investment associate Sam Subodh Patel led the sale process. The advisory company secured more than 130 signed confidentiality agreements from qualified buyers, resulting in multiple offers for the property. The price of the transaction is not revealed. Hopper said: "This transaction came together smoothly thanks to strong collaboration between all parties. It's a great example of how DSH Hotel Advisors was able to generate multiple offers on behalf of the seller, select the best buyer for the asset, and deliver a hands-on approach from start to finish.' The Candlewood Suites in Mayport, Jacksonville, is a 61-room, all-suite hotel established in 2019, catering to extended-stay and value-conscious guests with fully equipped kitchens and work areas in each suite. The property is expected to have minimal anticipated property improvement plans (PIP) and offers stable operational performance and investment potential. Patel said: "DSH Hotel Advisors is proud to have facilitated the successful sale of the Candlewood Suites Jacksonville-Mayport, further reinforcing the firm's strong presence in the Jacksonville market. 'This transaction marks DSH Hotel Advisors' third hotel closing in the Jacksonville market this year, reflecting continued momentum and expertise in delivering value for both buyers and sellers.' Earlier in the year, DSH Hotel Advisors also managed the sale of the Quality Inn Lake City in Florida for an undisclosed amount. Not Santa Fe. Not Taos. Why Albuquerque Is the New Mexico Trip to Put on Your Bucket List.
In 2001, when I told friends I was quitting my job to move from New York City to Albuquerque, I got some quizzical looks. Wasn't that where Bugs Bunny made his wrong turn? For most visitors to New Mexico, a stop in Albuquerque has long been a necessity not a choice: The city's 'Sunport' is the region's primary air hub. Destinations with cachet lay farther north—tony Santa Fe, the state's rhinestone-cowboy capital, or Taos, the high-desert outpost famous for luring boho legends like D.H. Lawrence and Dennis Hopper. Albuquerque ranks low on most travelers' to-do lists, even after its starring role in the series 'Breaking Bad' and hundreds of millions of investment from Netflix, including a 108-acre production facility.
