DOTr, PPA, PCG to offer free rides on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 for those stranded
The Department of Transportation on Wednesday said it would offer today, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, together with the Philippine Ports Authority and Philippine Coast Guard, free rides to commuters stranded due to flooding caused by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
"Muling magde-deploy ng mga bus at truck ang Department of Transportation - Philippines, Philippine Ports Authority at Philippine Coast Guard ngayong araw, July 23, para isakay nang libre ang mga pasaherong naiipit sa baha, bilang tugon sa utos ng Pangulo na makabihaye nang ligtas ang mga komyuter," the DOTr said.
(The Department of Transportation - Philippines, Philippine Ports Authority and Philippine Coast Guard will again deploy buses and trucks today, July 23, to service for free the passengers stranded due to flooding, in compliance with the order of the President to ensure the safe travel of commuters.)
The free rides will be offered from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., and again from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The buses and trucks will ply the following routes:
Quiapo-Fairview
Quiapo-Angono
Legarda-Angono
Lawton-Alabang
Roxas Blvd.-Sucat.
On Tuesday, free rides were also offered to stranded commuters.
The Philippine Coast Guard also deployed its buses for the free rides. DOTr
The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat is forecast to continue bringing moderate to sometimes intense rains over Metro Manila and several provinces on Wednesday, PAGASA said.
Many areas have experienced flooding in the past few days due to the Southwest Monsoon. —KG, GMA Integrated News
