22-year-old Lamar High School grad killed in shooting outside South Carolina hookah lounge
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding the person who shot and killed a Darlington County man early Sunday morning.
Derrick Shaquan Higgins, 22, a Lamar High School graduate, was shot outside the Quarter P Hookah Lounge on Augusta Road, the sheriff's office said Wednesday in a Facebook post.
The shooting happened shortly after 3 a.m., according to News13 sister station WSPA, which said deputies at the scene found a man with a gunshot wound who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Higgins died on Sunday, according to an obituary, which said he lived in Simpsonville in Greenville County. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Higgins' family with funeral expenses.
Hines Funeral Home in Hartsville is handling the arrangements, which are incomplete.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the sheriff's office at 864-867-2343.
