What Indians Miss In China? This Vlogger's Grocery Run Says It All

YouTuber Abhinav Singh's recent vlog captures what daily life is like for an Indian living in China. Living in another country often means adjusting to everyday experiences that can feel very different from what one is used to. For Indians living abroad, these moments of cultural difference can be both surprising and eye-opening. YouTuber Abhinav Singh, who runs the channel Desi Boy in China, recently shared a vlog that explores exactly this contrast by showing what daily life is like for an Indian living in China. In his latest video, titled 'Indian in China SHOCKED! (Grocery Shopping, Daily Life & Surprising Habits)," Abhinav gives a glimpse into his routine. He writes, 'What's it like for an Indian to live in China? In this vlog, I reveal shocking cultural differences, CHEAP grocery shopping in China (price comparison!), and surprising habits Indians won't expect!" Abhinav, who is a dance choreographer working and living in China, begins his day by heading to his workplace, which is located about 14 kilometres away from his home. He travels by metro and uses this moment to show how the local commuters behave. While exiting the metro, he sees how people stand in proper lines on the escalator. They leave the left side open for those in a rush. After finishing his dance class, Abhinav visits a nearby shopping complex. He points out how these complexes also include bakeries with fresh food items available. In a segment titled 'CHEAP Grocery Shopping in China (What Indians Miss)," he highlights the convenience of buying pre-cooked items. For example, he picks up ready-made chicken from the store. All he needs to do is heat it at home, which saves both time and effort. Later in the evening, Abhinav conducts another dance class before heading home again. His vlog also includes a brief interaction with a woman cab driver who is seen speaking in English. Abhinav points out that when locals see people like him speaking in English, they feel encouraged to start learning English as well. The video drew a number of comments from viewers. Another viewer gave some feedback, writing, 'Show more local things, bro." Earlier, another Indian YouTuber, Atharva Maheshwari, shared a vlog where he highlighted how a vegetarian can survive in China. He visited a local market in Kunming and showed the wide variety of fresh vegetables, fruits and local produce available there. view comments First Published: July 08, 2025, 18:42 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
