Man allegedly behind 53 right shoe heist charged by Queensland Police
Police have charged a man over the bizarre heist of 53 right shoes at a Queensland shopping centre. The alleged theft occurred on July 7 about 7.30pm, when the man entered a shopping centre on Brookfield Rd in Kenmore and took 53 right-footed shoes from the middle of a shared commercial space. Corresponding left shoes had been securely stored in the back of the store, with store owners confused as to why someone would steal just the right boot. The man was captured on CCTV during the alleged heist, and was seen loading the shoes into a suitcase on a trolley. The 49-year-old Mount Gravatt East man was arrested on Thursday night and charged with entering the premises and one charge of 'commit indictable offence'. Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Blyth said the unique nature of the theft helped police quickly identify the alleged offender. 'It's not every day you come across a case involving the theft of 53 right shoes. While the incident may be a bit unique and different in nature, it's a reminder that our officers take all reports seriously,' Detective Senior Sergeant Blyth said. All of the shoes have been recovered and returned to the store. The man was set to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.

Has Ballard Season 2 Been Canceled or Renewed?
Viewers are curious about whether Ballard has been renewed or canceled for Season 2. Created by Michael Connelly and Michael Alaimo, the crime series follows Detective Renée Ballard. She leads a cold case division dedicated to investigating long-forgotten crimes. While tackling the demands of her professional life, she also navigates personal challenges. With Season 1 having already premiered, curiosity has grown around future installments. Here are all the details. At the time of writing, Ballard Season 2 has neither been canceled nor renewed by Amazon Prime Video. However, co-creator Connelly remains hopeful about its future. In conversation with ScreenRant, he revealed that the show hasn't been officially greenlit. He reveals that its renewal will depend on its performance. He is also positive that the show will likely appeal to the audience. 'We are very confident that the show is going to do well because if you've seen it, you know that it's going to appeal to people. So, hopefully, we'll get a second season, and then we'll be off,' he added. Additionally, he recalled the days of filming Bosch, when he asked lead star Titus Welliver if he would stay on the show for five seasons and received a positive response. He said, 'I think what happened with Bosch is pretty rare, and I can still remember on the first day of filming Bosch, I did an interview for Instagram or something, where I asked Titus if he could stick around for five seasons. And he said, 'Yeah,' but we got twice that, so we'll see what happens. I think the show does have legs. There are a lot of stories we can tell with Renée and with Maggie, so hopefully, we get a chance to do that.' Generally, several factors are involved in a series renewal, with the most critical being audience reception, streaming performance, and financial viability. In Ballard's case, it's too early to determine its performance, as it has premiered recently. As a result, viewers will have to wait for some time to get clarity on the series' future.
