Elite LSU football recruiting target reveals decision day

Four-star defensive lineman and LSU football recruiting target Deuce Geralds has locked in a decision date. According to Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, Geralds will commit on August 2. LSU is a finalist alongside Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, and Ole Miss. ESPN and Rivals both rank Geralds as the No. 2 defensive tackle in the class of 2026. On3 and 247Sports aren't quite as high, but both slot Geralds as a top-200 prospect. On3's Industry Rankings place Geralds No. 95 overall and No. 6 at his position. Geralds is a Georgia native, playing his high school ball at Collins Hill. But UGA is out of the race for the blue-chip defensive lineman. There's no clear front runner for Geralds and there's yet to be a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction. LSU has been recruiting Geralds for some time now. He's a Baton Rouge native and Geralds father has ties to LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson. Geralds doesn't count as a "Louisiana recruit," but we've seen LSU have success landing recruits who were born in the Boot before moving away. Before Geralds commits next month, LSU will learn the fate of five-star defensive tackle Lamar Brown on Thursday, July 10. If LSU misses on Brown, the Tigers could turn up the heat on Geralds.

Michigan football gains ground on 4-star DT Deuce Geralds, who sets Aug. 2 commitment date

Michigan football recruiting was on an absolute tear in the month of June and the start of July, but now, many of the remaining top targets are slowing things down as they decide if they want to play in Ann Arbor or elsewhere. One of the prospects that the Wolverines hosted for an official visit was 2026 Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds, who took a midweek visit just before Victors Weekend. It had appeared as if the maize and blue weren't in the best position for Geralds, but after his trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan appears to have surged. But will it be enough? Geralds teased a big announcement on Wednesday and it turned out it was his commitment date (and not a commitment). With five schools in contention, Geralds will announce his school of choice on August 2. While Ohio State, LSU, and Ole Miss all made the cut, this appears to be a Michigan vs. Oregon battle. Given that he's not deciding today, that's perhaps good news for Lou Esposito and the Wolverines, as the Ducks probably have a slight lead at the moment. Michigan does have something of a logjam along the defensive line at the moment, with two defensive tackles (four-stars Alister Vallejo and Titan Davis) and four edge rushers (five-star Carter Meadows, four-stars McHale Blade and Julian Walker, and three-star Tariq Boney) all pledged. Geralds is rated the No. 73 player in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

4-star DL Deuce Geralds announces commitment date with Oregon Ducks among top schools

Some speculation among Oregon Duck fans was sparked on Tuesday night when 4-star defensive line target Deuce Geralds teased a recruiting announcement for Wednesday. There were questions about whether a commitment was on the horizon, or an announcement of top schools and a commitment date instead. On Wednesday, we got our answer. Geralds announced that he is down to five schools: the Oregon Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, and Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers, and Ole Miss Rebels. More than that, Geralds announced that he will make his commitment official on August 2. Geralds is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 73 overall player and No. 9 DL in the 2026 class. While the Buckeyes were thought to be in the lead for a while, the Ducks have seemingly grabbed some momentum in his recruitment. After a recent run of commitments from the likes of 5-star Immanuel Iheanacho, 4-star Jalen Lott, and 4-star Tommy Tofi, Oregon climbed back into the top 10 of the national recruiting rankings. If they can add Geralds later this summer, it would keep them among the best in the nation for this cycle. 4-star Oregon Ducks LB target earns MVP honors at Rivals camp

We are in the portion of the football calendar where there is little action taking place on the field in college towns, but a ton of buzz around the nation when it comes to the next batch of college players. The recruiting cycle is in full swing, and while a dead period has just started, which stops official visits from happening, recruiting camps and showcases are still occurring at a rapid pace. This past week, some of the best recruits in the nation showed out at the Rivals 5-star camp, going through drills and displaying what they could do on a bigger stage. While Oregon Ducks target Deuce Geralds turned some heads with his play and his gear, it was fellow Oregon target Nick Abrams who earned MVP honors at the linebacker position when all was said and done. 247Sports rates Abrams as the No. 229 player in the 2026 class, and the No. 14 linebacker, but he has some big-time schools after him in this cycle, including Oregon, the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Michigan Wolverines. Abrams took an official visit to Oregon earlier this month and is said to be high on the Ducks coming out of it. He is scheduled to announce his commitment on July 16, and Dan Lanning's team is squarely in the running to land him, looking to add to their small but impressive haul of commits in the 2026 cycle. 4-star DL Deuce Geralds sports Oregon football gear, turns heads at Rivals 5-Star camp

It's always fun to see highly-rated recruits come to campus and rock your favorite team's gear on official visits, but it becomes even more encouraging when you see them out on their own wearing your school colors. What's even better than that, though, is when they rock your team's colors while dominating on the field. That was the case for 4-star defensive lineman Deuce Geralds this week at the Rivals 5-star camp. Geralds showed up earlier this week wearing Oregon Ducks wrist bands and showing love for Dan Lanning's squad coming off of his official visit to Eugene. Later on the field, Geralds ended up dominating, too, showing out in a group of elite players in pass-rushing drills. Standing at 6-foot-2, 265 pounds, Geralds is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 73 player in the 2026 class, and the No. 9 defensive lineman. He has taken official visits to LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, Michigan, and Ohio State, all of whom he listed among his top 10 schools earlier this year. Deuce Geralds Rocking Oregon Gear Early DL MVP Deuce Geralds Getting After It Another DL MVP? After winning the Rivals 5-star DL MVP a year ago, there was some speculation that Geralds might be able to take home the honor once again, but it ended up going to Ohio State commit Khary Wilder. Nonetheless, this Oregon target showed that he has some high upside, as well as some love for the Ducks.
