Former Cowboys Star Slams Nike for Losing Jeremiah Smith To Arch-Rival originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The world of NIL is shaped not only by the colleges creating budgets to fill their roster, but the product endorsement deals and sponsorships that can begin a lifelong connection. Advertisement The way Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods became synonymous with Nike that type of partnership, because of the NIL market, can come to fruition with a young college athlete. One such deal that's already making waves is the agreement reached by Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and athletic apparel juggernaut Adidas. On Wednesday, Adidas announced their deal with Smith and the 19-year-old wideout posted "Three Stripes for life" on his X account. But with every move, there are detractors. Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was quick to throw shade on social media by questioning how Nike missed out on making a deal with Smith. Advertisement "Nike about to lose all credibility. How did they lose Jeremiah Smith to Adidas?" read Bryant's post, which received more than 250,000 views and over 2,600 likes. Smith joins several big-time football players already associated with the brand, including Patrick Mahomes, Micah Parsons, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Travis Hunter, and Abdul Carter. Last year, Adidas signed several NFL rookies, including Rome Odunze, Michael Penix Jr., Adonai Mitchell, and Xavier Legette. Cowboys Trade for Kyle Pitts Rumor Goes Nuts After ESPN Report

Cowboys Trade for Kyle Pitts Rumor Goes Nuts After ESPN Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys this offseason traded for one star pass-catcher in George Pickens. So ... why not get greedy and do it again? Advertisement There is gossip about Kyle Pitts, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, fading from the plans of the Atlanta Falcons. So, dream away … On the list of dreamers is Terrence Parsons, Micah's brother, who has joined the army of those who have floated the idea of a Cowboys trade for Pitts. "Imagine Jerry trading a 2nd round pick for Pitts we in the bowl,'' Terrence wrote. Cowboys ex Dez Bryant has expressed the same desire. And then along came ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, with his usual weekend exercise of throwing gunk against the wall to see if it'll stick. Fowler is "reporting'' that Pitts "would be open to'' a trade ... a note that simply doesn't pass The Smell Test. And why not? Advertisement Because Pitts has no voice in any of this. It doesn't matter if he likes it or not. And we'll bet Fowler never, ever asked Pitts his opinion. As a result of all of this, there is now a wildly amateurish YouTube video proclaiming 'breaking news' and a 'done deal' with Pitts coming here. Folks are nos going nuts … And it's all a ruse. One reason your antenna should go up here: Pitts doesn't really stand out over present Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson. In his promising rookie year, Pitts caught 68 balls for 1,026 but with just one TD. But since then? He averages over three years about 500 yards on 50 catches with three TDs. Advertisement He is, by the numbers, just a guy. And these are, by the facts, fake news reports. Dez Bryant All-In on NFC East

Dez Bryant All-In on NFC East originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Dallas Cowboys legend Dez Bryant has high hopes for the division he once dominated. Bryant predicts the NFC East division will boast the Super Bowl champion this upcoming season. Advertisement But which team, Dez? For starters ... Bryant foresees the division winning back-to-back Vince Lombardi trophies after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in last year's season finale. "That's the division to watch. I think the Super Bowl is coming out of the East this year," Bryant told Fox News Digital at Fanatics Fest. He puts Dallas - coming off. 7-10 season - in the mix. That's a start, we suppose. The former wideout has never wavered in his support of the Cowboys and is excited about the potential dynamic duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens in the new-look offense. "It opens up a lot," Bryant said. "I don't know how you don't be successful with George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb on the field at the same time. It's going to cause a lot of trouble. Schotty got to get in there and figure out the best scheme to score points. Advertisement "If we score points, we're good." Head coach Brian Schottenheimer has emphasized the importance of building a winning culture throughout the offseason and Bryant believes the Cowboys are headed in the right direction. "I love everything he's been doing as of late," Bryant said. "You gotta give him his credit. He's got the energy flowing in the building, the guys are happy to be there, and the guys would run through a wall for him. So, I'm looking forward to seeing what's going on." With the Washington Commanders also in the mix to be playoff contenders, the NFC East looks poised to produce a serious Super Bowl contender. So Dez could be right about the division ... with high hopes for his favorite team. Dez Bryant predicts NFC East team will win Super Bowl this year, takes shot at Giants

The NFC East may have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL this season, but that isn't deterring Dez Bryant from predicting which division will be taking home the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2026. Bryant, the Dallas Cowboys legend, is confident in predicting that a team from the NFC East will once again hoist the trophy when Super Bowl LX comes to a finish. "That's the division to watch. I think the Super Bowl is coming out of the East this year," Bryant told Fox News Digital at Fanatics Fest. Earlier this year, the Philadelphia Eagles took home the trophy, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, in a dominant performance in New Orleans. The Eagles are expected to be the team to beat once again out of the NFC, let alone the East division, as they return all of their key offensive players, including Saquon Barkley, who received an extension on top of the deal he signed with Philadelphia this past offseason. But Bryant's loyalties haven't wavered from his former Dallas squad, a group under new leadership in head coach Brian Schottenheimer. After dealing for George Pickens with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bryant thinks the Cowboys' offense can explode this year. "It opens up a lot," Bryant said. "I don't know how you don't be successful with George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb on the field at the same time. It's going to cause a lot of trouble. Schotty got to get in there and figure out the best scheme to score points. If we score points, we're good." Bryant intends on heading down to Texas for the team's training camp to see how Schottenheimer is getting the group moving before Week 1. He believes the longtime NFL coach, who is in his first year as a head coach, is already establishing the right culture. "I love everything he's been doing as of late," Bryant said. "You gotta give him his credit. He's got the energy flowing in the building, the guys are happy to be there, and the guys would run through a wall for him. So, I'm looking forward to seeing what's going on." But there are also the Washington Commanders, one of the most surprising teams in 2025 after rookie Jayden Daniels led the team to its first NFC Championship Game in decades. They lost to the Eagles, but there's a lot to love about Washington, moving forward with Daniels at the helm. Now, the final team in the division is one of Bryant's old rivals. And to this day, he doesn't mind sending shots their way. "The NFC East is crazy right now. Look at the Commanders, the Eagles, [the Cowboys] now. Giants, they're still at the bottom, I'm sorry," he said. "But [first-round pick Jaxson] Dart has a chance to be special." With the NFC East facing the NFC North and AFC West divisions during the regular season, the Giants, with Russell Wilson expected to lead the way at quarterback, may have a tough time getting back into the playoffs. But Bryant believes the other three teams from the division could be primed to make a run. Of course, he's hoping it will be the Cowboys getting back into the Super Bowl for the first time since the early 1990s, but it will be fun to watch how this division shakes out with the rest of the competition.
