The petrol price in the UAE is set to change next week. Following a month where prices increased, we're hopeful to see a drop in costs for August 2025. An announcement of the new rates will come on Thursday July 31, and the new petrol and diesel costs will come into place on Friday August 1. Motorists, take note: UAE fuel prices for August 2025 are set to be announced this Thursday, July 31. With July bringing a noticeable increase at the pump, many residents are now hoping for a price drop as the new month approaches. The revised rates will be released by the UAE Fuel Price Committee and will take effect from Friday, August 1. Petrol and diesel prices in the UAE are adjusted monthly, based on global oil market trends, and can significantly impact the cost of living and transport. UAE increases fuel prices for the month of July
The Fuel Price Follow-up Committee approved petrol and diesel prices for July 2025 as follows: The price of diesel rose to Dhs2.63 per litre for July, up from Dhs2.47 per litre in June, while the price of Super 98 rose to Dhs2.70 per litre for July, up from Dhs2.58 per litre in June. The price of Special 95 rose to Dhs2.58 per litre for July, up from 2.47 per litre in June, while the price of E-Plus 91 rose to Dhs2.51 per litre for July, up from Dhs2.39 per litre in June.

UAE petroleum prices will change next month (Credit: Supplied) Fuel prices in the UAE are announced on the final day of every month and come into force the following day. This means that the UAE Fuel Price Committee announced on Saturday May 31. Prices change the following day, on Sunday June 1. Fuel prices in the country were liberalised in 2015, with local rates being aligned with global oil prices. For the past 10 years, the fuel price committee has met on a monthly basis to announce revised rates. Super 95 petrol is an unleaded petroleum used by vehicles that require higher octane fuel to perform to their highest standard. E-Plus 91 petrol is the lowest grade of petrol available in the UAE. This is mainly used by fleets, commercial vehicles and standard cars. Diesel is known for its higher efficiency and is commonly found in buses, trains and large trucks. Do not put diesel in a car that requires unleaded fuel. How have UAE petrol prices changed over the past year?
