Watch: Alan Tudyk wears stilts to talk with 'Kimmel' guest host Diego Luna
June 25 (UPI) -- Alan Tudyk joined guest host Diego Luna on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss his struggles with wearing stilts during the filming of their movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the prequel series Andor. Tudyk came out wearing the stilts he used to portray reprogrammed Imperial security droid K-2SO alongside Luna's Cassian Andor. "I am very comfortable in stilts," Tudyk said. Luna asked the actor if he had any trouble acting while wearing the stilts. "You know what the hardest thing was? You know the bathrooms? They would have those trailers -- so, getting up the stairs, which were very narrow, and then when I walked in, I could see over all of the stalls. Just going by. So I was just going, 'Hey, Roy. Hey.' Everybody's on their phone, it was weird," Tudyk recalled. "And then when I was at the urinal, next to somebody else, it was -- that was a long stream. That was a long way down, buddy," he said. Luna pointed out that Tudyk has played multiple robots in his career. "Some people bring humanity to their roles, I bring a sort of mechanized detachment," Tudyk joked. "A cold, calculating, sterile quality. I was the robot in I, Robot. I was Sonny. And then I'm the robot in Superman that's coming out. There's been a few." Luna suggested Tudyk is a kind of "royalty." "I am robot royalty," Tudyk agreed. "When the robots take over, I may either be their chosen one, or the first one they kill, I don't know." Andor concluded in May after two seasons on Disney+. Adria Arjona, who starred with Luna and Tudyk on the show, recalled her audition for the series Monday on Kimmel.

Diego Luna begs for help as Tiffany Haddish hits on him during late-night interview: 'Get me out of this one!'
Diego Luna was completely unprepared for the intense, hilarious power of Tiffany Haddish's flirting skills during their Jimmy Kimmel Live interview Tuesday night. The Andor star, who is guest-hosting the late night show this week, found himself getting increasingly flustered as the actress made unshakeable attempts to woo him throughout their chat — to the point where he even urged its house band, Cleto and the Cletones, to end the segment for him. Haddish made her feelings toward Luna known from the get-go, cheekily (and falsely) claiming that he "asked me to be his baby mama" after he complimented her in Spanish. "Not exactly!" Luna interjected following her translation. "Sadly, I do speak both languages." "You don't want to be my novio [boyfriend]?" Haddish asked. Trying to be a gentleman, Luna quickly responded, "I'm not allowed… No, no, no, I'm not doing that. Thank you very much." The actor later asked Jimmy Kimmel's cohost, Guillermo, if they could set Haddish up on a date with someone they knew, but his well-intentioned plan backfired when she just used the opportunity to focus on their connection. "I heard you single now," she said, to which Luna replied, "No, I'm not. I'm not single at all. No." He added that he is in a "very important" relationship right now, much to Haddish's disappointment. "Oh, well, maybe it was a different dude," she said, "because when I googled your name it said you was divorced and single." Luna confirmed that he is divorced but said "the single part is what's not true." Turning to Guillermo for help, he asked, "But we know many Mexicans to hook her up with, no?" But Haddish squashed that. "I mean, I can find my own Mexican — don't worry about it," she said. "I can find my own." Luna attempted to reel Guillermo back into the conversation until she pointed out that the late night comedian is married. "I saw Guillermo on that boat butt naked, and I was like, 'Ooh, Guillermo!'" Haddish cheered. "But then I had googled him and he married, so I don't even wanna look at him no more. I don't look at married men." To further accentuate her point, Haddish raised a brow and stared at Luna for a prolonged period of time. Turning to the band, Luna begged, "Cleto! This is the moment where you play a song or something! You get me out of this one somehow!" He then tried to escape Haddish's flirting by telling her that his partner was somewhere in the audience. "I'm not gonna point at her because she's not gonna feel great to…" he began, before looking into the crowd and pleading, "Can someone play my partner here?!" Pointing at an audience member, Luna continued, "There you go! That is my partner." But that just gave Haddish more ammunition. "Why is there more than one woman saying they're your partner?!" she yelled, causing a blushing Luna to sheepishly rub the back of his neck. "I want to be part of this harem! I didn't know they had harems in Mexico!" "It's modern times, you know?" Luna cheekily fired back. "These open relations —" Wrong move. "Oh, you got open relations?" Haddish asked, putting Luna on the back foot once again. "No, no, no!" he exclaimed, putting a hand to his forehead. "That's not what I wanted to say! Sorry!" But he wasn't getting away that easily. "You said it, Diego!" she replied. Exasperated, Luna continued, "Oh my God! I so need, like, commercials or something!" But Haddish insisted that Luna had to stay in their interview no matter what. "I am gonna stay in it," he agreed, "and I'm very happy you're here." Haddish made one final attempt to steal Luna's heart by performing her very own rendition of the traditional Spanish folk song "De Colores." Luna praised her, uh, interesting take afterward. "Wow," he said, "that was beautiful." Watch Haddish try to make the moves on Luna in the clip above. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

‘Kimmel' Guest Host Diego Luna Turns Fox News Mockery Into ‘Delicious' Moment
'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' guest host Diego Luna laughed off Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham Thursday after the Mexican actor's impassioned defense Monday of undocumented workers appeared to set off the conservative news host. 'I didn't do this for the recognition or the money,' Luna said Thursday. 'Because there's nothing. But there has been such an outpouring of support over the past few days. And last night... I got the highest honor a late-night host can receive.' Luna went on to play a clip of Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo complaining Wednesday about Luna's Monday monologue and asking, 'When did the comedy and entertainment shows, Laura, become an excuse for boorish political commentary?' 'Oh no,' Ingraham replied, before appearing to read from a prompter: 'Actor Diego Luna, guest host of — I don't know who that is — guest hosted for Jimmy Kimmel. I don't watch, I don't think I've ever watched a Jimmy Kimmel.' The conservative pundits went on to play a portion of Luna's monologue from Monday, in which he noted that many undocumented workers 'pay a lot of taxes,' prompting Arroyo to wonder if Luna was 'speaking from experience' before asking, 'Why do we care?' Luna is the face of Disney's 'Star Wars' series 'Andor,' which has earned eight Emmy nods and is a spin-off of 2016's 'Rogue One' — which stars Luna and grossed over $1 billion worldwide. Ingraham said, 'I don't even know who he is,' prompting Arroyo to inform her. 'Oh, OK, sorry I missed that,' Ingraham replied sarcastically in the clip. 'Oh, thank you,' said Luna over applause and laughter as the clip concluded. 'By the way, Jimmy, that's my gift to you. Yeah, whatever name this woman has, I got her to finally watch your show.' Luna didn't stop there. 'I had a dream last night that this was a Mexican talk show, with Latin music and delicious food,' he said. 'Then I woke up and remembered, 'Oh yeah, I'm the host, I can do whatever the fuck I want.' So tonight our band, Cleto y los Cletones, they have gone full mariachi.' The camera then revealed Kimmel's house band, Cleto and the Cletones, in full mariachi regalia, as Luna announced that he invited local restaurant owners Eduardo Ruiz and Alberto Bañuelos — who run the Mexican eatery Burritos La Palma — 'to feed the whole audience.' Diego Luna reads comments responding to his 'Kimmel' monologue
Diego Luna's guest-hosting run on Jimmy Kimmel Live! is already off to a flying start, with the Andor star starting the week with a powerful monologue criticising Donald Trump's immigration policies. Then, on Tuesday, the Mexican actor hit it out of the park again with another excellent late night monologue, this time responding to the overwhelming reaction to Monday night's show. "Last night, I spoke from the heart and gave a monologue about immigration and the policies of this administration, and I got some very positive comments online," Luna says in the video above. He then proceeds to read out examples like, "This guy is eloquent! He ought to be in Congress!" "No way, no, no, no, I'm too productive for that," Luna quips. The host then reads out the more creative negative online comments, then moves onto press coverage and, in particular, Fox News' story on his monologue, of which Luna reads out the headline: "Narcos: Mexico star trashes Trump immigration policies while guest-hosting 'Kimmel." "I've done more than 70 movies and shows. I wonder why they chose the one where I play a drug dealer," Luna says. Notably, Fox News now appears to have changed the story headline to read "Andor star…" though you can see the original headline on the site with a quick Google.

Diego Luna's final 'Kimmel' monologue hits it out of the park
Diego Luna has had an excellent week. The Mexican actor and Andor star has finished up a guest-hosting spot for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, having delivered powerful monologues about Donald Trump's harsh immigration enforcement policies and sitting down for compelling interviews with icons such as civil rights activist Dolores Huerta. While receiving press praise and enthusiastic online comments, Luna has also faced hateful comments and criticism from the likes of Fox News — and he read out these posts and headlines on the show. On Thursday, for his final round, Luna brought it home by opening the show with mariachi music, giving Kimmel co-host Guillermo an executive producer promotion ("I don't know if I can do that, but I just did,"), and delivering a final must-watch monologue appealing to the audience for unity, not division. "I know there is a lot of focus in your media about the differences between our cultures and the violence south of the border, but I hope this week I was able to open up the dialogue. We should be doing more of that, telling our stories and finding what connects us," says Luna in the clip above. "We shouldn't let our cultural exchange be divided by borders, by ignorance, by fear, or a wall built by your president (that he paid for, by the way). We're going through a hard time. Authoritarian leaders and expressions are on the rise, and it's happening everywhere. Leaders who attack the press, use the military against their own citizens, and claim they have the answer to everything. Does that sound familiar? "But it's in our hands to do something. There are many ways to push back. And one way is by making fun of them every night like Jimmy does. Using comedy to defend freedom, they don't like that shit. And we can't take that for granted, because we, the audience, have to defend spaces like this. Without satire and voices like Jimmy's that question and challenge the abuse of power, democracy doesn't just weaken, it can disappear. And we cannot let that happen." Now, go and watch Luna's opening monologue if you missed it.
