Bihar Assembly Polls: PM Narendra Modi to visit Motihari on July 18
Patna (Bihar) [India], July 7 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Motihari in Bihar on July 18, Bihar BJP chief Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said on Monday. This will mark PM Modi's 53rd visit to Bihar. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal told reporters, 'On 18th July, PM Modi will visit Bihar's Motihari. This will be the PM's 53rd visit to the state. PM Modi's visit to the state is for Viksit Bihar.' PM Modi's visit comes ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections. The Bihar elections are expected to be held later this year, in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet announced the dates. Meanwhile, PM Modi addressed the session on 'Peace and Security and Reform of Global Governance' at the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil, condemned terrorism as a 'grave threat to humanity', underlining the need for urgent reforms in global institutions and highlighting India's commitment to the Global South, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). MEA Secretary (Economic Relations) Dammu Ravi, during a special media briefing on Sunday (local time), said the Prime Minister's remarks came in the context of discussions on peace, security and multilateral reforms. PM Modi also welcomed the united condemnation by BRICS members of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. 'On the session on Peace and Security, the Honourable Prime Minister underlined that terrorism was a grave threat facing humanity. In this context, he noted that all the leaders have condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack in the strongest terms. He underlined that the terror attack is an onslaught on the entire humanity. He also noted that those funding, promoting and providing safe havens to terrorists must be dealt with in the harshest terms,' Ravi said. Ahead of PM Modi's visit to Bihar, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will inaugurate rail projects worth over Rs 17 crore in Bihar on Monday. He will also lay the foundation for the upgradation of Karpoori Gram Railway Station. Press Information Bureau (PIB) Patna wrote on X, 'Union Railway Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw will inaugurate rail projects worth over Rs 17 crore in #Bihar's #Samastipur today. BJP assures political representation to Pasmanda Muslims
1 2 Patna: BJP on Monday reiterated its commitment to equality, dialogue and development while working for the interest of Pasmanda Muslim community in the state. Addressing the members of Pasmanda Muslim community at the party headquarters here, BJP state president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal accused the RJD-Congress of always doing politics in the name of Muslims, but making no real efforts to uplift the Pasmanda Muslims in Bihar. Jaiswal also assured them of political representation in the state. A large number of people belonging to the Pasmanda community joined the BJP during the conference. Jaiswal said the term Pasmanda means "those who were left behind". While they were frequently used in politics, they were never given political representation, Jaiswal said and added that it was only after the NDA came to power that reservations were extended to them. After jointly inaugurating the conference with Jaiswal, deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said the RJD was engaged in vote bank politics by spreading confusion against the new Waqf law, which is in favour of poor Muslims. He said the NDA govt gave reservation to Pasmada Muslims in Bihar. "Ironically, it is their own upper class that exploited them, but this has never been openly discussed," he said. "They are denied equal rights and are looked down upon. This entire section remains marginalised. Since the NDA came to power at the Centre and in Bihar, efforts have been made to ensure their development in the spirit of 'sabka saath, sabka vikas'," he said. Memorial to be built in honour of Kharwar brothers: Jaiswal
Patna: State BJP president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Sunday said a memorial would be constructed in the state to commemorate contributions of two brothers from the Kharwar tribe, Nilambar and Pitambar, in the freedom struggle. Jaiswal announced this while addressing a convention of Kharwar tribe here. He also said a committee headed by members of Kharwar tribe would be set up to look into their problems, and follow up action would be taken to find solutions to them. Although the Kharwars are mostly found in the Bhagalpur and Munger divisions, their maximum concentration is in the Pirpainty assembly constituency of Bhagalpur district and Manihari in Kathar district. Both the constituencies, earlier, were general seats, but Pirpainty was later made a reserved seat for the scheduled caste people, and Manihari was designated as scheduled tribe (ST) seat. Incidentally, Kharwars were earlier put in the category of SC group, but after a long campaign and social mobilisation done by former CPI MLA of Pirpainty, Ambika Mandal, the Kharwar was notified as an ST group. Shah to visit state after PM's prog in Siwan on June 20
Patna: Union home minister Amit Shah's Araria visit on June 15 has been postponed, said BJP state president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Saturday. Shah will now come to Bihar after PM Narendra Modi's Siwan visit on June 20, he said. PM Modi will address a public meeting in Pachrukhi block of Siwan district, where he is supposed to transfer a total of Rs1,011 crore in the bank accounts of more than 1 lakh beneficiaries of Bihar as the first instalment under the Pradhan Mantri Urban Housing Scheme. The PM is also likely to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate the project related to sewage treatment plants in 22 cities of Bihar. Apart from this, the foundation stone for the water supply project will also be laid in 13 cities. The cost of the entire project is more than Rs 7,170 crore.
