Tecno Camon 40 Premier review
The Tecno Camon 40 Premier sits atop the Camon series, offering premium-like features at an affordable price. Last year's Camon 30 Premier turned out to be an excellent phone, so we have high hopes for the Camon 40 Premier as well. The new Premier comes with an updated chipset, now Dimensity 8350, a display with a higher refresh rate, a nicer build with higher ingress protection and a slightly updated battery. Moreover, the Camon 40 Premier is now promised to receive three major OS upgrades, as opposed to just two last year. The newly updated hardware will go nicely with the true and tested one that's borrowed from the Camon 30 Premier. We get the same 50MP triple-camera setup, featuring a 3x optical zoom, and the 50MP selfie unit with autofocus. We don't expect any major changes in image quality, which is fine - the Camon 30 Premier already punched above its weight class in this respect. Even though the Camon 40 Premier shapes up to be an excellent midranger, its limited availability might hurt sales. The Camon 40 series was announced in February during MWC 2025, and we are now well into 2025, yet the phones are still only offered in a handful of markets. In any case, a full review is due, so let's see how the Camon 40 Premier stacks against some of its competitors. Unboxing the Tecno Camon 40 Premier The handset comes in a standard retail box containing the usual user manuals along with a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging and data transfer and a compatible 70W charging brick. There is also a protective case that has a design that is very similar to the phone's own design, so it doesn't conceal Tecno's efforts in that direction. Page 2

Oppo Reno 14 series India launch today at 12PM: Expected price, specs and everything else
Oppo is gearing up to unveil its Reno 14 5G series in India today, with the launch event scheduled for 12:00PM. The company will likely introduce two smartphones under the lineup – the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro – both of which have already been launched in China. Most of the specifications and design details are already known, and with Oppo teasing some features ahead of the event, the official India launch is mostly about local pricing and Reno series from Oppo is known for its focus on stylish design, slim profiles, and camera-focused features. This year too, Oppo seems to be building on that foundation, but with more attention given to AI-based photography and better hardware. Ahead of the launch, the company has been teasing a mix of AI camera features and battery efficiency, suggesting that both form and function will be in focus this time Reno 14 series: What to expect? The Reno 14 Pro is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chip, a relatively new processor built on a 4nm process that promises better performance and efficiency over its predecessor. The regular Reno 14, on the other hand, may come with the Dimensity 8350 chip – also a 4nm chipset – which should offer reliable day-to-day performance, though not as powerful as the Pro variant. Both phones are tipped to ship with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and as much as 1TB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, which is impressive for devices expected to launch under Rs 50, Display quality is another area where Oppo seems to be putting effort. The Reno 14 is said to feature a 6.59-inch flat OLED panel, while the Pro version may offer a slightly larger 6.83-inch screen. Both are expected to support a 1.5K resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Oppo is also using its Crystal Shield Glass for better durability. Peak brightness is rated at 1,200 nits, which should be good enough for outdoor usage in most the camera front, the Reno 14 Pro is tipped to include a more advanced quad-camera setup on the rear, including a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a periscope-style 50-megapixel telephoto camera with up to 3.5x optical zoom, and a fourth 50-megapixel sensor, possibly for portrait shots. The regular Reno 14 is also expected to come with a capable triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 main sensor, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. Both devices will likely feature a 50-megapixel selfie camera, maintaining Oppo's focus on front camera performance is expected to be another highlight. The Reno 14 could feature a massive 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast wired charging, while the Reno 14 Pro might come with a slightly larger 6,200mAh unit and 50W wireless fast charging support via Oppo's AIRVOOC technology. This would make them some of the few phones in the segment offering both wired and wireless fast Reno 14 series: Expected priceadvertisementAs for the pricing, Oppo hasn't revealed the India-specific price tags yet, but the China launch gives a rough estimate. The Reno 14 starts at around CNY 2,799 (approx. Rs 33,200), while the Pro version starts at CNY 3,499 (approx. Rs 41,500). Considering the pricing of the Reno 13 series in India, which started at Rs 39,999 for the base model and went up to Rs 49,999 for the Pro, the new Reno 14 phones are likely to stay in the same the launch event set for today at noon, all eyes are now on whether Oppo will offer any India-specific features or pricing advantages to make the Reno 14 series more competitive in the crowded premium mid-range space.- Ends
