Training Course at Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Sana'a (Saba) – A course on international humanitarian law began today in Sana'a. The course is organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Institute. The two-day course aims to provide 30 trainees from the Ministries of Information, Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and media institutions with knowledge of international humanitarian law, its scope of application, principles, and the challenges it faces in armed conflicts, it also aims to introduce participants to the International Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the relationship between international humanitarian law and international human rights law. At the opening ceremony, the Dean of the Diplomatic Institute, Ambassador Dr. Ahmed Al-Emad, emphasized the importance of the role of journalists and media professionals in spreading awareness of the concepts and rules of international humanitarian law. He pointed out the importance of the course in introducing the fundamentals of international humanitarian law in light of the crimes and violations of international humanitarian law being perpetrated in Yemen and Palestine, before the eyes and ears of the world, by the Zionist entity and the American enemy. DI celebrates graduation of 12 distinguished diplomats

QNA Doha Under the auspices of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Diplomatic Institute (DI) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) celebrated the graduation of 12 distinguished diplomats from the Executive Master's in Diplomacy and International Affairs programme. The prestigious programme was organised in cooperation with Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q). This programme, which coincided with the 20th anniversary of GU-Q, was attended by a number of senior officials, diplomats, faculty members, and the families of alumni. It forms part of the MoFA's efforts to develop Qatari diplomatic personnel and prepare them to the highest academic and professional standards, thereby enhancing Qatar's diplomacy on the international stage. Marking the occasion, Director of the Diplomatic Institute D. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Horr emphasized that the Executive Master reflects the ministry's commitment to investing in human capital. He praised the fruitful partnership with Georgetown University, a renowned academic institution. In turn, the graduates expressed their pride and gratitude for this unique opportunity, affirming their commitment to continuing to serve their nation and represent it in the best possible light at international forums.

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty CAIRO 6 May 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty asserted the political will to enhance relations with Montenegro. This came during a joint press conference in Egypt's New Administrative Capital between Abdelatty and Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović. Abdelatty praised the visit of Montenegrin minister to Egypt saying it reflects mutual keenness on boosting cooperation between both sides. The talks tackled means of promoting cooperation in the different domains particularly the economic and investment sectors, Abdelatty said. Abdelatty lauded Montenegro's initiative to establish an embassy in Cairo. He welcomed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Egypt's Diplomatic Institute and Diplomatic Academy of Montenegro along with a memorandum of understanding to establish a political consultation mechanism between the two countries to push the bilateral ties forward.

Qatar's Al-Jazeera Network Provides Media Training For Officials Of New Syrian Government, Syrian Journalists, And Syrian Communications Students

Since the fall of the Bashar Al-Assad regime in Syria in December 2024, and the establishment of the new government led by Ahmed Al-Sharaa, Qatar's involvement in shaping the new Syria has been conspicuous. Alongside highly publicized state visits by Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Aal Thani and other senior Qatari officials in Syria, meetings between senior officials of the two countries, and Qatari assistance in infrastructure projects and in Syria's reconstruction, Qatar has also been operating in Syria through its media outlets, particularly the Al-Jazeera Network, which is known for supporting and encouraging Islamist terrorism worldwide. [1] Since the establishment of the new Syrian regime, the Al-Jazeera Media Institute has been providing media training to the new Syrian ministries, including the foreign affairs and information ministries. It has also held courses and seminars for Syrian journalists and students, with the participation of senior Al-Jazeera media figures. Prominent among them was the Syrian-born veteran journalist Faisal Al-Qassem, host of the channel's flagship show "The Opposite Direction," who was known as an opponent of the Assad regime. After the overthrow of that regime, Al-Qassam arrived in Syria for a highly publicized celebratory visit, and met with Al-Sharaa. Al-Jazeera Provides Media Training And Guidance To The New Syrian Administration Al-Jazeera has been actively involved in providing media training and guidance to the ministries of Syria's new government. For example, on January 15, 2025 the Diplomatic Institute at the Syrian Foreign Ministry and the Al-Jazeera Media Institute held a joint seminar on "media relations," attended by Syrian government officials and staff and hosted by senior Al-Jazeera TV presenter Faisal Al-Qassem. [3] One of the Al-Jazeera Media Institute's courses (Image: February 7, 2025) On January 9, the Al-Jazeera Media Institute held an open session with journalists at the Damascus Sheraton Hotel to present its initiatives and courses and "familiarize itself with the journalists' needs and priorities at this time." The session was attended by the institute's director of media initiatives, Muntasir Mar'i, veteran Al-Jazeera host Khadija Benguenna and Al-Jazeera correspondent in Syria Adham Abu Al-Hossam. [6] Course in Aleppo, taught by Syrian Al-Jazeera journalist Amar Al-Sayyed (Image: February 2, 2025) Senior Al-Jazeera TV Host Visits Syria, Meets With New Syrian Leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa As stated, senior Al-Jazeera host Faisal Al-Qassem spoke to senior and other Syrian government officials as part of a seminar held by the Syrian Foreign Ministry and the Al-Jazeera Media Institute. [7] Al-Qassem, who is of Syrian origin and was known for his vehement opposition to the Assad regime, arrived in Syria in January 2025 following the fall of that regime. During his visit, he spoke with the country's new leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa in the Presidential Palace in Damascus, [8] visited the city of his birth, Suwayda, where he was warmly welcomed, [9] and filmed an episode of the flagship Al-Jazeera program that he hosts, "The Opposite Direction," in Damascus. Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik led the farewell party at the Royal Airport for Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, who concluded his two-day state visit to the Sultanate. Earlier in the day, the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar signed in Muscat on Wednesday two memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the fields of diplomatic training and social development, and three executive programs in the fields of cultural, educational, sport, and youth cooperation, within the framework of a 'state' visit by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. The first MoU was for cooperation in the field of diplomatic studies and training between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Diplomatic Academy) and the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Diplomatic Institute), and the second in the field of social development between the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Social Development and Family in the State of Qatar. The two sides signed an executive program for cooperation in the cultural and educational fields between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar. The two sides also signed two executive programs for cooperation in the youth and sports fields between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Sports and Youth in the State of Qatar. The memoranda of understanding and executive programs were signed on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman by Sultan bin Salem al Habsi, Minister of Finance, while they were signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, Minister of Sports and Education, and Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
