Arrest of Syrians as part of security measures in Bekaa at the Lebanese-Syrian Border
Tuesday, 01 July 2025 The LAF Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: As part of the security measures implemented by the military institution in Bekaa at the Lebanese-Syrian Border, LAF units arrested 67 Syrians last week for illegally entering Lebanese territory. In this context, the LAF Command confirms that it is in constant communication with the Syrian authorities and is taking the necessary security measures to control the borders and maintain stability, including conducting patrols and establishing observation points. The LAF also calls on the media to exercise caution in reporting news related to the situation at the border and to avoid publishing information that could create internal tension, urging them to refer to official LAF statements for accurate information. The arrested individuals were handed over to the competent judicial authorities.

Monday, 30 June 2025 The LAF Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: Following an armed altercation that occurred on June 28, 2025, in Hourtaala - Baalbek, a LAF unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, raided the residences of several individuals involved in the incident. They arrested the citizen (AA.M.) and seized a large quantity of materials used in the production of Captagon, a handgun, military ammunition, and a sum of counterfeit money. The seized items were handed over, and an investigation with the arrestee began under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.

LAF Patrol Comes Under Fire While Pursuing a Weapons and Drug Smuggler
Thursday, 26 June 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On 26/6/2025, while a LAF unit, supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, was pursuing the citizen (M.N.) as he was smuggling a quantity of drugs, weapons, and military ammunition using a pickup truck near the Lebanese-Syrian border in Sharbin – Hermel, the suspect opened fire at the patrol members. They returned fire, resulting in the vehicle catching fire and the ammunition inside exploding, which also caused a blaze in the area. Civil Defense units worked to extinguish the fire. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the wanted individual.

Sunday, 29 June 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: Following an armed clash on 25/6/2025 in the Sabra and Shatila camp between drug trafficking gangs, which resulted in deaths and injuries, and after surveillance and monitoring operations, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence carried out raids in the town of Zebdin – Nabatieh and arrested the Lebanese citizens ( ( (A.K.), and the Palestinian ( During the raid, the first suspect—one of the most wanted drug traffickers —opened fire on the patrol members, who returned fire without causing any injuries. A large quantity of drugs, weapons, and military ammunition was seized. Arrest of Two Individuals for Committing Various Crimes and Seizure of Drugs and Forged Documents
Saturday, 28 June 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On 27/6/2025, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence arrested the citizen (M.D.) in the Hay Al Sellom area –Dahye Janoubiye (southern suburbs), for charges of shooting, drug use, and trafficking. A quantity of drugs was found in his possession. Another patrol arrested the Syrian national ( in the Cola area – Beirut, for his involvement in forgery. Several forged documents and a sum of money were found in his possession. The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
