Maalik Day 4 India Box Office: Rajkummar Rao and Manushi Chhillar's gangster drama steadies at low levels on first Monday; Nets Rs 2 crore

Maalik, directed by Pulkit, and starring Rajkummar Rao and Manushi Chhillar among others, collected a below par Rs 14.10 crore net in its opening weekend. The film opened to Rs 3.60 crore, grew by around 50 percent on Saturday, and then saw identical collections as Saturday on Sunday when it should have grown by atleast 15-20 percent. The first Monday collections are not bad going by how it has held. Maalik has collected Rs 2 crore on Monday, taking the cume to Rs 16.10 crore after 4 days. The Day Wise Net India Collections Of Maalik Are As Under Maalik's Trend Suggests Slight Acceptance, But The Film Is A Long Way Away From Breaking Even Maalik's hold suggests that there's slight acceptance of the content. The collections should see a bump on 'Discount Tuesday'. The Rajkummar Rao movie should be poised at around Rs 21.50 crore by the end of the first week. Based on how well or poorly Saiyaara performs, it will be known whether Maalik will end up doing around Rs 25-27 crore net, or leg out to do Rs 35 crore or more. The final result shall more or less be the same regardless of whether it legs out or not, since it needs to net around Rs 42-44 crore in India, just for the producers to breakeven, assuming that the international share will be a maximum of Rs 2-3 crore. With Better Financial Planning, Producers Could Have Avoided Losing Money On The Film With better financial planning by the film's producers, they would have been in a position to atleast not lose money on the film, if not make any. There are a bunch of desperately produced films by producers, where they are more or less certain to lose money. It's mostly done to be in the mix of things, and be seen as an active production house. Maalik In Theatres

Metro In Dino Day 6 India Box Office: Anurag Basu's rom-com steadies at low levels; Adds Rs 2.25 crore net to total

Metro... In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu and starring Ali Fazal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Nina Gupta, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma and others, observed a customary drop in collections on first Wednesday, as is the case with all movies coming off Discount Tuesday. After a Rs 2.75 crore net Tuesday, the movie added Rs 2.25 crore on Wednesday. The 6 day total of the movie stands at Rs 23.25 crore and the week 1 will end in the Rs 25 crore plus range. The Day Wise Net India Collections Of Dino Are As Under Dino's Hold Suggests Niche Acceptance, But There's Still Work To Be Done For a movie that opened to just Rs 3.25 crore net, a Rs 25 crore plus week 1 is not a bad result. The trend suggests a niche level of acceptance for the movie. However, the film's high budget can't be ignored while writing about how the movie is doing. As mentioned earlier, the film's budget is Rs 85 crore, with another Rs 15 crore spent on print and advertising. The non-theatrical recoveries are at Rs 70 crore, meaning the movie needs a Rs 30 crore share from theatres worldwide to breakeven. A Rs 30 crore share would require a worldwide collection of roughly Rs 75 crore gross. Assuming a little over a million coming from international markets, the movie still needs to net Rs 55 crore (Rs 66 crore gross) so that the makers don't lose money on the movie. The film will practically have to double its opening week collections in the full run, to come close to the breakeven point. While it is not impossible, the Anurag Basu movie will require some insane holds to ensure that happens. Week 2 Competition For Dino Is Fierce The competition at the box office is fierce with new releases - Superman, Maalik and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, all eyeing for good showcasing, apart from the already strong holdover releases. Dino will have to ensure its collections grow or atleast are similar to the 1st Thursday numbers, on 2nd Friday. Dino In Theatres All eyes are on whether Dino can collect Rs 2 crore plus on 2nd Friday, for a Rs 10 crore second weekend. The movie plays in theatres now. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Metro In Dino Day 5 India Box Office: Anurag Basu's movie sees a slight surge in bookings courtesy 'Discount Tuesday'; Adds Rs 2.75 crore net

Metro... In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu and starring Ali Fazal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Nina Gupta, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma and others, saw a 10 percent growth in its collections on day 5, from Monday, courtesy 'Discount Tuesday', where tickets are priced in the Rs 99 - 149 vicinity for the standard version. With Rs 2.75 crore net on Tuesday, the 5 day total of the movie in India, stands at Rs 21 crore. The Day Wise Net India Collections Of Dino Are As Under Dino Is Heading For A Rs 25 Crore Net Week 1; While It Is Low, The Trend Is Steady, Indicating Niche Level Acceptance Dino's week 1 is heading towards the Rs 25 crore mark, a low number for a film made at a budget of Rs 85 crore excluding p&a. However, it is the strong trend of the movie that will hopefully help it sustain in the metros. The competition in week 2 gets fierce with Superman, Maalik and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan flooding the marketplace. If the film manages a similar 2nd Friday as 1st Thursday, it will be on its way to net around Rs 45 crore net in India in its full run. If the drop on 2nd Friday is drastic, it may struggle to net even Rs 40 crore, and finish in the same range as Kajol's Maa. Dino Requires Atleast Rs 55 Crore Net In India To Breakeven Metro... In Dino requires atleast Rs 55 crore net in India to ensure that the movie breaks even. This number looks like a task at the moment but the niche acceptance of the movie has ensured that even in the worst case, the loss from the film won't be as much as it could have been, had the movie been rejected. Dino In Theatres After Dino, Anurag Basu gears up for the next and final schedule of his untitled next with Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela. While you wait for that movie, you can watch Dino in theatres. F1 Day 5 India Box Office: Brad Pitt's movie manages to grow on Tuesday courtesy subsidized rates; Adds strong Rs 3.50 crore

F1, directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt, Kerry Condon, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem and others, observed growth in collections on Discount Tuesday. After a Rs 3.25 crore net day 4, the movie has added Rs 3.50 crore on day 5, to take its 5 day total to Rs 27.50 crore net. The week for F1 is likely to close at Rs 33 crore. With IMAX screens still to itself in week 2, it is almost certain that the movie will hold its ground, despite competition. The Day Wise Net India Collections Of F1 Are As Under After What Will Be A Glorious 1st Week, F1 Finds New Competition In Metro... In Dino And Jurassic World: Rebirth F1 faces new rivals like Metro... In Dino and Jurassic World: Rebirth in India in its second week. Since F1 is an established film with a strong word of mouth, it should not really struggle much when it comes to getting the audiences. F1 Is Already Doing Much Better In India Than Anyone Would Expect As stated a number of times earlier, the collections that F1 has managed to put up in its first weekend, would be seen as a good result even if they were the film's lifetime numbers. Effectively, the Brad Pitt led racing movie looks to do almost three times as much as what would have really been seen as a good result to begin with. The collections shall end lower than the year's highest Hollywood grosser, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, but the difference here is that while one movie is from an established franchise, the other one is just a standalone flick. F1 In Theatres F1 has been crushing pre-release predictions globally, and now it is to be seen if it is able to compete with giants like Jurassic World: Rebirth and Superman. F1 plays in theatres now. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on Brad Pitt and F1.

Maa Day 5 India Box Office: Kajol led supernatural-drama sees a slight surge due to Discount Tuesday; Nets Rs 2.75 crore

Maa, directed by Vishal Furia and starring Kajol, Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta and others, grew in collections from Monday on Tuesday, as the movie managed Rs 2.75 crore. The growth for the movie has come due to the 'Discount Tuesday' offer where tickets for the movie in most theatres are available at prices of Rs 149 or under. With this, the 5 day total of Kajol 's movie stands at Rs 22.75 crore. The Day Wise Net India Collections Of Maa Are As Under Maa Heads For A Rs 27 Crore Net Week 1 Maa shall see a customary drop in collections on Wednesday as ticket prices return to normal weekday levels, leading to less footfalls than on Tuesday. The week 1 should end in the Rs 26.5 - 27 crore net range, which is quite alright for a film spearheaded by Kajol, playing alongside Sitaare Zameen Par and F1. Had the film not had stiff competition in week 2, it would have actually been seen as a good first week, as a Rs 40 crore plus lifetime net total would more or less be certain. Now that Dino and Jurassic World are entering the box office arena, even Rs 35 crore will be difficult, despite a certain acceptance. Maa Is A Pricey Film With Its Economics In Place Maa is a pricey film, but the costs are in check. The non-theatrical rights have been sold at premium rates because the film was marketed as a story linked to the world of Shaitaan. The Rs 18-20 crore worth of global share will add to the film's revenues. Kajol's Upcoming Movie Projects After Maa, Kajol will be seen in Sarzameen, co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The movie will stream on JioHotstar from 25th July, 2025. Kajol's next after Sarzameen is not confirmed. Maa In Theatres Maa plays in theatres now. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on Kajol and Maa.
