Disneyland fake-wedding paedophile staged series of stunts involving girls

A convicted paedophile who faked a Disneyland wedding to a nine-year-old had previously staged a series of lavish stunts with young girls, a court has heard. Jaskarn Singh Jhaj posed as a producer to turn a National Trust property into a film set, hired the Odeon Leicester Square for a fake premiere and set up a dance school for eight to 14-year-old girls at which he turned up in a Bugatti supercar to greet them. On Friday, Isleworth Crown Court heard that 39-year-old Jhaj staged the events in order to meet young girls and underage teenagers in the hope of engaging in sexual activity with them. Earlier, this week it emerged that Jahj had travelled to France, where he was arrested by the French police after staging a fake wedding to a nine-year-old girl from Ukraine at Disneyland Paris on Saturday. French prosecutors said Jhaj faces several counts of fraud, abuse of trust, money laundering and identity theft after his arrest at the theme park in Marne-la-Vallee. The nine-year-old Ukrainian girl had arrived in France with her 41-year-old mother two days before the mock ceremony. Police were called by a 'guest' who later claimed he was hired for the wedding – which cost a total of £110,000 to stage – to play the father of the bride, only to realise 'at the last minute that she was nine years old'. 'He poses a risk of sexual harm to female children' The Metropolitan Police obtained a 10-year extension from the court to an existing Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) imposed on Jhaj in 2016 after he was convicted of sexual activity with two 15-year-old girls he had picked up after driving around Hounslow. Jhaj gave the girls a lift in his Range Rover, bought them meals, alcohol and gifts and pretended to be a famous film producer. He was sentenced to four years in prison and placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely. Following his release from Brixton Prison in October 2017, the Met applied for a SHPO against him. This week, the Met Commissioner went to court to obtain an extension to the order after evidence emerged that Jhaj had gone on to stage a series of stunts with the aim of attracting young girls. Benedict Scantlebury, prosecuting, told the court: 'The 2016 convictions for sexual activity with two females under the age of 16, and the seriousness of the underlying facts of those offences demonstrates that the Respondent [Jhaj] poses a risk of sexual harm to the public, namely to female children. '[Jhaj] has gone to great lengths and significant financial expense to engineer situations in which he is able to have contact with female children, including those under the age of 16. 'He has organised large-scale filming events in ways to avoid a breach of SHPO due to the presence of adult supervision, but which evince the efforts he is willing to go to in order to have contact with female children and which could readily escalate into grooming.' Fake film set and premiere Isleworth Crown Court heard that in August 2021, Jhaj had turned the National Trust's Waddesdon Manor, in Buckinghamshire, into a set where he was filmed firing a machine gun from the turret of one of several armoured vehicles. Cast and crew for the production grew so concerned over his behaviour towards a 16-year-old actress that they stopped filming and called police. In October 2023, Jhaj hired the Odeon Leicester Square to stage a fake premiere at which 100 children aged seven to 14 were told to act like fans, reaching out and touching him. The court heard that Jhaj – who changed his name by deed poll to London JA – had used other aliases to make these bookings 'such that the casting agencies were not aware he was a registered sex offender'. Other stunts followed, including a fake funeral at Brompton Cemetery and the London Oratory, using young female actors. In June last year, Jhaj, who also used prosthetics to alter his appearance, went on to hire a choreographer to attend a dance school in Tower Hamlets, where a group of girls aged eight to 14 were led outside as he pulled up in the Bugatti. Mr Scantlebury told the court: 'The respondent [Jhaj] interacted with the group of children and handed them gifts. The families were not aware that he was a registered sex offender.' Isleworth Crown Court was shown a number of films posted to social media by Jhaj in which he appeared with several young women, including schoolgirls. In one, posted on YouTube in May 2020, under the title 'Dangerous Sexual Predator, Jacky Jhaj of West London', he is seen sitting bare-chested in the front seat of a car with a number of girls in the back, including one wearing a school uniform. DC Andy Hawse, of Hounslow public protection unit, told the court: '[Jhaj] gets in with her. The film cuts before what is assumed to be some form of sexual activity.' In other footage, a group of young girls are filmed screaming and touching Jhaj as he supposedly leaves prison escorted by his security staff. Another video from 2020 shows a young woman lying on the back seat of a car, with her bare legs in the air. 'Absurd grandiose thinking' The court heard that it was unclear where Jhaj, from Feltham, west London, had obtained the funds to pay for these stunts. He registered multiple companies with Companies House, along with the names of fake directors, to arrange and pay for the events. His sister-in-law told police officers, who recently attended the family home looking for him, that she had not seen him for months. UK police officers have been in contact with French authorities following Jhaj's arrest across the Channel, where he had travelled in breach of his requirement to notify police of his movements. He has been remanded in custody by the French authorities for four months. Following a half day hearing, Judge Martin Edmunds KC, the recorder of Kensington and Chelsea, ruled that Jhaj 'is at risk of further sexual offending'. Granting an extension of the SHPO until November 2034 in his absence, Judge Edmunds stated: 'The stunts show absurd, grandiose thinking. They feed and illustrate his dangerous sexual preoccupation with young children, and also his defiance of controls. 'The total absence of any evidence showing that the defendant is seeking to address appropriately his preoccupation with children means a lengthy order is necessary.'

A California Getaway That'll Make The Whole Family Happy

Anaheim has amusement parks and plenty of other attractions. iStock-Matt Gush Has your child ever planned the family trip? We're not talking about the 'Do you want to go to an amusement park or the zoo?' kind of choosing, either; we're envisioning start-to-finish organizing, from the hotels to the restaurants to just about every detail in between. It's a potentially scary thought, but it's the central idea behind the Imaginagency, 'a travel agency' run by kids (including actor Tia Mowry's little one) that puts together fun, tyke-approved itineraries around Anaheim, California, a vibrant city just over 30 minutes from Los Angeles. The schedules from the six children include some obvious stops (Disneyland) and a few less-familiar options (a cool simulator attraction). Forbes Travel Guide loosely followed a few of these fun-filled schedules (with some elevated detours, of course) and were quite impressed with the choices. These little guides may have legitimate futures as travel professionals because they show sides of Orange County to explore that go well beyond Mickey Mouse. Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa makes quite the splash. Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa If we're talking about Anaheim, the conversation must involve Buzz, Belle and Black Panther in some capacity. As expected, the kids' itineraries universally agree. Disneyland celebrates its 70th year as the happiest place on Earth in 2025 with a bevy of themed rides, food items and merchandise. All the extra balloons and confetti come on top of the everyday ride highlights at Disneyland Park (Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway) and Disney California Adventure Park (Radiator Springs Racers, WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure). Napa Rose may get a new look this fall, but it'll have the same elevated flavors. Disney Between the two neighboring parks, there are roughly 500 acres to explore. Wherever you can save a few steps, it's wise to do so. One way to conserve is with a stay at the perfectly positioned Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This craftsman-style Forbes Travel Guide Recommended beauty sits right in the heart of the Disney excitement. The walk from the hotel lobby to the lively Downtown Disney District is five minutes on the busiest day. Beyond the brilliant location, the property effortlessly cares for its visitors with precision and playfulness. Never complacent, the 947-room hotel is undergoing a major renovation that promises changes to the rooms (fresh colors and carpets), reception areas (a new forest-themed club lounge) and restaurants (signature Four-Star eatery Napa Rose is getting a complete facelift). Though some updates aren't expected to be finished until 2026, any Disney dust is non-existent and most noise is kept quieter than a mouse. Sample the city's culinary scene at Anaheim Packing District. Visit Anaheim Dining Though many guests know about Disneyland's hand-dipped corndogs and funnel cake fries, the authentic Mexican aromas coming from Downtown Disney's Paseo may be somewhat surprising. Set in a second-floor dining room accented with tan walls and basket pendant lights, Paseo is like a night out at a trendy taqueria in Tulum. The shrimp aguachile (a spicy ceviche) is a flavor-packed starter. The roasted rainbow trout, sitting in a charred corn husk and topped with cherry tomatoes and baby corn, is gorgeous and delicious. But even when you're nowhere near Sleeping Beauty Castle, Anaheim's flavors are fantastic. In the beloved Little Arabia District, you'll find Lebanese pastry shops and spots cooking up Yemeni meats. There's also a Zankou Chicken in an inconspicuous shopping plaza. Its menu has chicken kabobs and shawarma plates on it, just as you'd expect from any reputable Mediterranean establishment. But the star here is the spit-roasted chicken, juicy and simply seasoned in quarter- and half-chicken sizes. The meat falls off the bone, right onto the fluffy pita bread or into the house-made garlic spread. Several of the children's outlines smartly include Anaheim Packing District on them. A Sunkist processing plant in the early 1900s, the space has been granted new life as a bright, buzzy food hall meant to show off the city's diverse tastes and local produce. With 30-plus tasty stalls covering everything from sweets (Randy's Donuts) and soul (Georgia's) to seafood (Chippy Fish & Grill) and smashburgers (The Kroft), it accomplishes its goal. Live music, in-person author events and even speed-dating sessions are helping the address evolve from merely being a culinary space into a full-on communal hangout. Muzeo Museum is an engaging stop for the entire family. Kaz Creative Other Distractions Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center is a short walk from Anaheim Packing District. The 25,000-square-foot space juggles two responsibilities: honestly chronicling local history, from the time of the first indigenous people 20,000 years ago through the world wars, with photos and priceless artifacts; and showcasing revolving exhibits in art, history, science and more. One showing, 'Marvelocity: Art of Alex Ross' (through August 17), is a Spider-Man and Captain America lover's dream that looks at the artist's iconic comic-illustrating career through more than 50 original sketches. 'Lowrider Culture in the United States,' an exhibit looking at the horse-powered Latino tradition through photos and a real car display, opens on September 13. Imaginagency's Brayden suggests Flightdeck + Rogue Racing as another great way for the family to spend an afternoon in his itinerary. Here you get behind the wheel of a fighter jet, a Boeing 737 or an F1 car via simulators equipped with the latest technologies. Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt likely needed more than the 30 or 60 minutes you're allotted to prep for their latest movie roles, but at least with this experience you feel some of the same adrenaline-pumping intensity. Los Angeles Angels games and stadium tours are big hits. DeMarco Williams Anaheim offers fascinating sporting opportunities, too. Less than a 10-minute drive from Disneyland is the Honda Center, home of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks from October through April. And only five minutes from there is Angels Stadium, where future hall of famer Mike Trout anchors the Los Angeles Angels. Though fans of the MLB team haven't had much to cheer about on the field lately — the Halos haven't been to the postseason since 2014 — there's plenty of excitement to be had on the all-access tour. Baseball purists will love seeing the locker room, visiting the press box and peeking into the batting cage. At the end of the walk-through, guests receive a gift tote with a commemorative pin and an Angels hat inside. Use the latter to tip your cap to all the kids for pointing you in the right direction for your vacation and to thank Anaheim for showing you a great time in more ways than merely an amusement park. Joy division: How Kanika Goyal is making fashion fun again

Kanika Goyal says she wishes she wasn't so ambitious. She doesn't mean it. That her business is booming is evident from the incessant activity at her four-floor studio in Faridabad. There are craftspeople working on sequinned Mickey Mouse figures for grungy T-shirts and shirt dresses. Master tailors are cutting sheaths of denim to artistically attach to the softest Chinese cotton for her signature hybrid pants. Embroiderers and patchwork experts are bringing to life playful collages. Stockkeepers are overseeing mounds of fabric that will be stashed away to be recycled creatively later. Goyal's ambition is everywhere. Kanika Goyal showcased at London Fashion Week and launched a line with Disney. (SHOT BY RAJ K RAJ) In the fashion world, Goyal is everywhere too. The 35-year-old designer is prolific, even among her Millennial peers who are creating looks for the red carpet and real life. In the last year alone, Goyal has showed her collection at London Fashion Week – presenting creased taffeta shirts, and accessories made from surplus leather, laminated crushed leather and cracked bonded taffeta. She's had a special fashion showcase in her hometown of Chandigarh, and did a themed look-book with the art collective Excise Dept, inspired by her roots in rural Punjab. She's also dropped a line of 114 pieces with Disney, which draws on her memories of watching animated classics and visiting Disneyland in Paris as a 10-year-old. The skirts, dresses and shirts feature hand embroidery and sequinned lungi checks; the denims bear endless loops of Mickey Mouse ears. It's aimed at the grown-up who prefers nostalgia with a bit of edge. Team Kanika Goyal is now 90 members strong. And her empire spans her OG eponymous label of kitschy couture (Kanika Goyal Label or KGL), an affordable casual chic line (Kilogram), collabs, as well as plans of expansion into home décor and product design. It may seem like a lot. But Goyal is more driven and hard-working than most. And she's manifested it all, she says. Bursting at the seams Goyal's designs are about finding joy in the ordinary. She backs it up with impeccable tailoring. (INSTAGRAM/@KANIKAGOYALLABEL) Goyal says she was artistic, but had an entrepreneurial streak even as a young girl in Chandigarh. Her mother encouraged her to pursue a career in fashion. But NIFT Delhi was as far from the homestead as her father was willing to let her move. She missed out on the coveted rankings for the course in fashion design, so she studied space and lifestyle accessories instead. Goyal made it work, co-founding the accessories brand Yelo in 2009 at 20, creating bags and key-chains that cost between ₹ 1,500 and ₹ 5,500. It retailed nationwide and was a hit with young women who wanted stylish looks they could afford. She was still a student. She'd tasted success. She wanted more. 'That's when I decided to go to Parsons School of Design in New York to pursue Fashion Design,' she says. Most Indian students struggle with coursework, and a side hustle to pay the rent. Goyal did all that and landed 14 internships, working with big brands such as Prada and Marchesa, and a long-term gig with renowned Odisha-born fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra in the early 2010s. 'He wanted me to stay on, but I knew I had to return to India to start my own label,' she recalls. 'It was now or never.' Bold measures Goyal started out in 2015 with a 500 sq ft store in Delhi's Shahpur Jat 'above a halwai's shop'. So, she started out in 2015 with a small store in Delhi's Shahpur Jat 'above a halwai's shop', determined to put out youthful, free-spirited fashion that captured the moment. The T-shirts screamed with slogans: As If; That's So Rad; Super Weird. The designs were edgy and surrealist. 'We would totally be cancelled for making those statements now!' Celebrities came calling. Actors Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh and sportsmen such as Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya have championed Goyal's work through its many avatars. And unlike one-hit wonders, Goyal went back to the studio and kept refining her subversive-but-make-it-fashion formula. She held on to the idea of playfulness and finding joy in the ordinary, but backed it up with impeccable tailoring, colour-blocked fits and deconstructed pieces. 'We've now found a balance by keeping our childlike sensibility in place but introducing maturity into our clothes'. It's what got international celebrities interested too. Singer Jacob Collier has worn the Goyal label (mismatched electric brights, no less). Gen Z's favourite singer-songwriter Tyla has sported her denim-cotton hybrid co-ord sets. Halle Bailey (yes, The Little Mermaid) has rocked her high-slit jeans. Kelly Rowland, almost twice Bailey's age, has looked chic in Goyal's denim trench and matching pants. Fits of genius Goyal's recent work includes sweaters that scream Chardi Kala (a call for being positive) (INSTAGRAM/@KANIKAGOYALLABEL) Goyal's most recent work has included chunky knit sweaters bearing Punjabi epithets such as Chardi Kala (a call for being positive) and Balle (joy) in Gurmukhi. Her September 2020 capsule collection, a nod to a nation in lockdown, was titled It's OK to Put on a Few KGs, and consisted of oversized T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts. Her collection for New York Fashion Week in 2023, Agrestal Mind, put crazy prints on sweaters and sequinned minidresses, 'something you could wear to a rave party'. And all over Instagram, influencers have cheered her recent collection, Playfield. The line celebrates movement, imperfection and unhindered ideas: Tie-dye effect jeans, lightweight printed silk jackets, patchwork leather trench coats. It's somehow hyperlocal and international at the same time. 'Fortunately, the Indian market has evolved,' Goyal says. 'Indians would never pay ₹ 25,000 for a pair of jeans, now they do. My clients range in age from 20s to their 60s and 70s.' Everyone likes a bit of edge, it seems. Which can take its toll on a creative mind. 'I'm quite critical of myself, and the self-analysis can lead to frustration. So, I've read self-help books to develop discipline,' Goyal says. 'And I've struggled to reconcile my desire to be empathetic with my selfish interests to excel at work. So, I actively prioritise empathy.' She also still maintains a gratitude journal which she started in the pandemic when she was struggling to keep her business and her team of 20 afloat. It didn't just pull her out of a lull, it got her to focus on the small wins, and grow her brand. 'When I was younger and brimming with ideas, I had zero doubt that I would make it. That's the feeling I like to channel now too. There shouldn't be any doubt about your creativity. You have to believe in it wholeheartedly. You have to know this collection is a hit and it will be. If you have this level of clarity at the start, that's half the job done.' From HT Brunch, June 28, 2025 Follow us on

Floyd Schofield out to make it up to his son for cancelling Disneyland trip after mysteriously pulling out of last fight

FLOYD SCHOFIELD is out to make it up to his little boy for cancelling a trip to Disneyland after the mysterious collapse of his last fight. Schofield was due to challenge for Shakur Stevenson's WBC lightweight world title in Saudi Arabia in February. 4 4 But the unbeaten American pulled out on the week of the bout - citing illness which left him hospitalised. His dad and trainer even went as far as to sensationally claim his son had been POISONED - as he shared images of the boxer bed-bound. Schofield later returned home to the US and had to break the news to his baby son that their celebratory trip to Disneyland had been KOd. He said: "Actually, when I first got back from Saudi, I would say it was a little sad because I was a new dad, I couldn't be around my son for like three months. "I gave my son a promise, after I get the green belt, we'll go to Disney, so I didn't really get to fulfil that. "So seeing him come back and I had nothing to show for it that like put me in a very bad depressed state. "I wasn't one to believe in depression really but actually going through it is a real thing. "I'm just glad I have my dad, my fiancee, my son and they got me back to where I was supposed to be." Schofield was pulled out of his bout against Stevenson, 27, by the British Boxing Board of Control - who oversaw the event - after a health check. His dad's allegations of poisoning were never proven and Schofield never explained his mystery illness - and it looks as though he never will. He said: "I just want to leave stuff in the past. Whatever happened, happened. I'm not trying to get into that. "I'm just looking forward and if me and Shakur are going to run it in the future, so be it. Coca-Cola Has an Exclusive Product Headed to Shelves

Typically, we'd have to say that our favorite brands cannot get any better. However, once our beloved brands start teaming up with other big names we adore, we're happy to admit that we're wrong. Because, sure, a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich hits the spot any day of the week, but add crunchy Takis to it and it's even better. And cookies and cream ice cream will always be a classic, but make it with real Oreo pieces and it can't be beat. If there's one brand out there that knows how to do partnerships, it's Coca-Cola. The soda giant has solidified itself as the largest in the world, thanks not only to its fan-loved proprietary products, but also to the deals and placements it has secured. Everyone knows there's something special about a McDonald's Coke, and those exclusive Coca-Cola Freestyle flavors at movie theaters, amusement parks, and fast food chains will never get old. Now, Coca-Cola is flexing another one of its long-standing partnerships with its latest, exclusive launch. Coca-Cola and Disney are teaming up for a new "Star Wars" release. Coca-Cola and Disney have been working together since Walt Disney opened Disneyland 70 years ago. Today, Coke has a strong presence in the Disneyland and Walt Disney World parks—from Club Cool in Epcot that allows you to try Coke flavors from around the world to specialty Coke products themed for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. This summer, the brands are launching the new Coca-Cola x Star Wars: Refresh Your Galaxy campaign, complete with 30 new can and bottle designs featuring classic "Star Wars" characters. Much like Coke's partnership with Disney and Marvel last summer, the "Star Wars"-inspired cans and bottles will each showcase an exclusive design and iconic character. "We did Marvel last year and it was so impactful and people were really happy with it—we were like, okay, what's next? And this one was just a natural place for us," Islam ElDessouky, Coca-Cola's Global Vice President of Creative Strategy & Content, told Allrecipes. Twenty-seven of the designs will be found on Classic and Zero-Sugar products of Coca-Cola across the globe, but three of the "Star Wars" designs will be exclusive to the Disney parks. You'll find Lando Calrissian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala, Kylo Ren, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul, K-2SO, Boba Fett, Poe Dameron, The Mandalorian, Cassian Andor, General Grievous, and Emperor Palpatine on Classic Taste Coca-Cola cans and bottles. Zero-Sugar cans and bottles will feature Darth Vader, Yoda, Princess Leia, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Han Solo, BB-8, C-3PO, R2-D2, Finn, Rey, Grogu, and an Imperial Stormtrooper. Special Cokes featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu, a First Order Stormtrooper, and Chewbacca will be exclusive to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Additionally, The Mandalorian and Grogu design can be found in vending machines at Tokyo Disney Resort. The new, special-edition "Star Wars" x Coca-Cola cans and bottles are rolling out to retailers across North America, Latin America, Europe, Japan, and the Asia-Pacific regions beginning in July, where they'll be sold for a limited time. And, to take the Disney magic one step further, each can will feature a QR code that, when scanned, transports you to a galaxy far, far away through augmented reality. The experience lets you record a video of yourself that will be transformed into a "Star Wars"-style hologram transmission that you can share with friends and family. Here's our transmission to 30 new Coca-Cola cans hitting markets, your mission is simple: Collect them all. Read the original article on ALLRECIPES
