Pranav Mohanlal's horror film with ‘Bramayugam' team titled ‘Diés Iraé'

We had previously reported that Malayalam actor Pranav Mohanlal has joined hands with the team behind Bramayugam, including director Rahul Sadasivan and producers Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth, for an upcoming horror film. Now, on Friday (May 9), the makers announced that the film's been titled Diés Iraé (meaning, 'The Day of Wrath'). The makers of the film unveiled a motion poster to announce the news. Notably, Rahul has retained the technical team of his previous film for Diés Iraé; cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, editor Shafique Mohamed Ali, art director Jothish Shankar (who directed Ponman), music composer Christo Xavier, and stunt director Kalai Kingson have all been retained. Details regarding the cast and plot of the film remain unknown. Diés Iraé is currently in post-production. Speaking about the film, Rahul told Variety, 'Compared to my previous films, Diés Iraé explores a diametrically opposite emotional spectrum which connects to the new generation. While it stays true to the horror-thriller space, it's a very different beast in terms of narrative style and mood.' The film is produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth under their Night Shift Studios and Y Not Studios banners. Diés Iraé will be Rahul's third horror film; before Bramayugam, he directed Bhoothakaalam, starring Shane Nigam and Revathy. Rahul's Bramayugam starred superstar Mammootty in the lead. The horror-thriller film, released on February 15, 2024, also featured the likes of Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz among others. The film is currently streaming on Sony LIV.
