US is no longer our ‘ally'

Kiev is no longer a 'priority' at the center of US foreign policy, several Ukrainian MPs have lamented after Washington suspended the supply of certain categories of weapons as part of its 'America First' shift. Washington scaled back critical military aid to Kiev, reportedly halting deliveries of air defense ammunition, missiles, and artillery shells. While the exact list of suspended weaponry remains unclear, US envoy to NATO Matthew Whitaker said on Wednesday that the move was part of President Donald Trump's domestically focused policy shift. 'The United States is no longer our ally,' Ukrainian MP Mariana Bezuglaya wrote on social media. She followed up with a remark that her earlier post suggesting President Trump should 'go f**k himself' was now even more relevant. Bezuglaya went on to accuse Trump of 'helping Russia move towards Dnepr and Sumy,' apparently referring to Moscow's ongoing push to create a 'buffer zone' intended to protect Russian border areas from attacks. 'Ukraine is no longer a priority, no longer at the center of US foreign policy… At least Trump is very honest about this with the Ukrainians,' another Ukrainian MP and member of the defense and intelligence parliamentary committee, Solomiya Bobrovskaya, told the New York Times. Earlier on Wednesday, Kiev summoned the US chargé d'affaires in Ukraine, John Ginkel, to lecture him about 'the critical importance of continuing the deliveries of previously allocated defense packages' and to warn against 'delay or procrastination in supporting Ukraine's defense capabilities.' Kiev has repeatedly voiced frustration over what it sees as dwindling support from Washington. Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky met with Trump at the NATO summit in The Hague last week to demand more Patriot air defense systems but received no firm promises. Trump said the systems were 'very hard to get' and that the US needed them for its own defense and for Israel. Russia has consistently condemned Western arms shipments to Ukraine, arguing they only serve to prolong hostilities and increase bloodshed without altering the ultimate outcome of the conflict. President Vladimir Putin said last month that Russian forces currently hold the strategic initiative across the entire frontline. After expelling Kiev's invasion force from Russia's Kursk Region in March 2025, the fighting quickly spilled across the border into Ukraine's Sumy Region. Moscow officially described its objective as the creation of a buffer zone intended to safeguard the resumption of peaceful civilian life in Russia's border regions.

Entertainer who turned down request to sing in Ukrainian accused of treason

A celebrity social media influencer in Ukraine is facing multiple criminal investigations, including a treason probe, after being filmed rolling her eyes at a request to sing in Ukrainian. The allegation against Anna Alkhim, who has over 250,000 Instagram followers, was confirmed Wednesday by MP Natalya Pipa, who said she and other lawmakers had urged police to launch an inquiry. Alkhim is also reportedly being investigated for incitement of hatred and for allegedly threatening a government official. Pipa urged parents to check whether their children are following 'bloggers who trample on Ukraine and everything Ukrainian, spread harmful messages and poison the minds and the souls of children.' Alkhim, whose legal name is Anna Buryachenko, has a reputation for scandal shaped by a turbulent personal life which often features in celebrity news. Nationalists, however, have criticized her for years for perceived anti-Ukrainian behavior. In a 2020 interview, Alkhim acknowledged that Russian President Vladimir Putin is 'handsome' and described him as a very influential figure. She has also perviously declared that 'half of Ukrainian songs are total garbage.' In 2024, she filmed a video in front of billboards depicting her country's fallen soldiers, with a Russian song playing in the background. According to Pipa, the treason investigation stems from a 2023 incident in which Alkhim publicly named two hospitals in her hometown of Dnepr where wounded Ukrainian soldiers were being treated, the day before an alleged Russian attack on the facilities, sparking accusations from critics that she had leaked sensitive information. Alkhim rejected the accusations, declaring in an expletives-ridden message that the hospitals' military use was public knowledge and accusing her detractors of exploiting the timing to smear her. The latest backlash began after a video surfaced earlier this month showing Alkhim at a private event. When jokingly asked to sing in Ukrainian, she rolled her eyes in an exaggerated manner and appeared to mutter something the video circulated, several nationalist figures demanded repercussions for what they called a disrespectful act. Pipa joined the calls for accountability, urging a 'harsh reaction' from the government. Alkhim is believed to have left Ukraine amid the controversy and appears to be defiant, despite the mounting pressure.

Russian UAVs destroy Ukrainian electronic warfare complex in Kherson province

Moscow - (Saba): The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that a group of Russian UAVs belonging to the Russian Dnepr group destroyed the Ukrainian Bukovel-ED electronic warfare system in the right part of Kherson province. Sputnik quoted the ministry as telling reporters: "During a scheduled flight over enemy positions on the right bank of the Dnieper River in Kherson province, our drone operators located the enemy's Bukovel-ED electronic warfare station and destroyed it with a precision strike." The ministry added that with the help of the drones, the drone crews monitor the right bank of the Dnieper River in real time, track enemy movements, and also control rocket launchers and field artillery fire. She added that the crews of the Russian Dnieper Group of Forces' drones are destroying Ukrainian drone control points, temporary deployment points, artillery and mortar installations, armored vehicles, ammunition depots, and Ukrainian armed forces personnel on a daily basis. The Russian special military operation, which began on February 24, 2022, aims to protect the population of Donbas, who have been subjected to persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime for years, according to Moscow.
