Is a fourth stimulus check on the way? What you need to know about the third payment

Stimulus check speculation has been rife for a couple of weeks with many expecting a fourth payment to be rolled out soon by Trump. The first stimulus payment was issued in March and April 2020, the second payment was issued by January 15, 2021, and the third payment was issued between March and December 2021. The deadline to file for all these payments has now passed. Any unclaimed check amounts would have now directly become the property of the US Treasury. No extensions or appeals were granted in the matter. Several Americans are worried about a fourth stimulus check(Unsplash/representative ) The first stimulus payment was worth $1,200 for individuals, $2,400 for married couples, and an additional $500 per qualifying child below the age of 17. The second check was worth $600 per individual, $1,200 for married couples, and $600 per qualifying child under the age of 17. The third stimulus payment, which was provided to claim Recovery Rebate Credit for 2021, was worth $1,400 per eligible individual. The same amount was applicable per dependent for married couples filing jointly. Once your tax returns have been accepted by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), you will receive a 'Refund Sent' alert upon checking your application status online. Following the acceptance of your claim, it wouldn't ideally take long for the payment to be processed. Those who filed their taxes electronically can expect a refund via direct deposit within 21 days. Paper checks can take from six to eight weeks. How to check your refund status? The IRS has developed an online mechanism called 'Where's my Refund?' that allows beneficiaries to self-check the status of their application. By providing your Social Security number, filing status, and refund amount, you can check the status of your refund 24 hours after filing for the same. Here are the different updates you might receive on the platform and what they mean: • Return received (processing) • Refund approved (preparing to issue a refund by the date shown) • Refund sent (send to your bank or in the mail) Is a fourth payment on the way? In February of this year, Trump announced the possibility of rolling out $5,000 stimulus checks to all eligible taxpayers if the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DoGE) were to be able to reach their target of cutting down by 20% on all government expenditure by eliminating 'wasteful spending'. Since then, there has been no official update regarding a possible fourth stimulus payment. The chances of this actualizing into reality remain slim given Musk's recent exit from the DoGE and their reported inability to hit the set target. Those whose taxes were electronically filed and accepted by April 15 can expect to receive their third stimulus payment by May 6 via direct deposit or by June 16th if opted for physical mail. Allies To Rivals To Allies Again? Timeline Of Musk-Trump Feud

It was the third week of Donald Trump's second term in the Oval Office. His most trusted lieutenant, Elon Musk, led a massive initiative, Department of Government Efficiency (DoGE), to slash federal spending. On February 7, the billionaire, who spent roughly $300 million on the Republican candidate's election campaign, posted on X, "I love@realDonaldTrump as much as a straight man can love another man." Much water has flown under the bridge since Musk proclaimed his love for Trump. Almost everything has changed. The Tesla CEO is no longer a part of the Trump administration, and the duo has had an ugly fallout, all in public. And now, Musk has blinked, admitting he went "too far" in his recent online attacks against Trump. "I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week," the Tesla CEO wrote on X. "They went too far." The feud started after Musk called Trump's tax bill a "disgusting abomination." It quickly spiralled, with the billionaire suggesting the President be impeached and accusing the government of hiding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted sex offender. Timeline: The Trump-Musk Feud May 29 Elon Musk announced he would be stepping down from his role in the Trump administration after finishing his term as a special government employee. He led DoGE. June 2 Donald Trump defended his landmark economic proposal, known as the "One Big Beautiful Bill," on Truth Social, "Many false statements are being made about our big, beautiful bill." June 3 Elon Musk posted a fiery critique of Trump's spending bill. "I just can't stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it," he wrote on X. He added in a follow-up post, "It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden American citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt." June 4 Elon Musk suggested Congress needs to write a new bill. "A new spending bill should be drafted that doesn't massively grow the deficit and increase the debt ceiling by 5 TRILLION DOLLARS," he said. June 5 Musk asked to " Kill the bill." "Call your Senator, Call your Congressman, Bankrupting America is NOT ok! KILL the BILL." The same day, in response to Trump saying Musk was upset over EV subsidy cuts, Musk posted, "Keep the EV/solar incentive cuts in the bill, even though no oil & gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!!), but ditch the MOUNTAIN of DISGUSTING PORK in the bill." "In the entire history of civilization, there has never been legislation that is both big and beautiful. Everyone knows this!" "Either you get a big and ugly bill or a slim and beautiful bill. Slim and beautiful is the way." Then came the bombshell. "Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!," Musk wrote in an X post, which he later deleted. Musk even appeared to support Trump's impeachment. At the White House, Trump replied, "Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will any more. Very disappointed in Elon." He also revealed Musk was "aware" of the bill. Musk shot back, "False. This bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress would even read it!" Then came more jabs. "Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate. Such ingratitude," he said. "The Big Ugly Bill will INCREASE the deficit to $2.5 trillion," he added. He even proposed a new party, "Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?" Musk also dug up Trump's old 2012-2013 tweets slamming government overspending, calling him out and asking, "Where is this guy today??" June 6 Trump fired back on Truth Social. He wrote, "Elon was 'wearing thin,' I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!" He added, "The easiest way to save money in our Budget is to terminate Elon's Governmental Subsidies and Contracts". He also said, "I don't mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago." Elon Musk said, "If this bill passes, we will decommission our Dragon capsules and halt cooperation with NASA's deep space initiatives." He later took back his words. Musk also posted, "Tariffs will cause a recession in the second half of this year." Asked about Musk in an ABC interview, Donald Trump said, "You mean the man who has lost his mind?" He also warned of "serious consequences" if Musk supports Democrats in 2026, and said he had no plans to reconcile. Later that day, Musk appeared to soften. Replying to billionaire Bill Ackman's peace offer, he said, " You're not wrong." June 10 Trump told reporters, "I just wish [Musk] well." Musk responded to the video with a red heart emoji on X. Elon Musk and Donald Trump's feud goes public: Timeline of their tumultuous partnership

President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk's relationship seems to have taken a downward spiral in the past few days. The pair that once grabbed every opportunity to praise each other's work have now resorted to engaging in frequent social media spats due to a difference of opinion over Trump's new 'Big, Beautiful Bill'. The confrontation reached a peak on Thursday (June 5), after Musk's exit from the Department of Government Efficiency (DoGE). Considering the events of the past year, it may be hard to believe that Musk hasn't always been Trump's biggest fan. During Trump's first run for presidency back in 2016, Musk openly expressed his support for Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton in an interview with CNBC, labeling her environmental and economic policies 'the right ones'. "I feel a bit stronger that he is not the right guy. He doesn't seem to have the sort of character that reflects well on the United States,' Musk said of Trump at the time. Once Trump beat Clinton in the 2016 race to the White House, Musk retained ties with the federal government due to the close contractual interaction between NASA and his company SpaceX. He was also a part of several White House advisory boards such as Trump's Manufacturing Jobs Council. However, when Trump decided to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords in 2017, Musk publicly voiced his disapproval of the decision by tweeting, 'Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world.' Trump, however, felt differently and publicaly called Musk a 'great guy' during a 2020 SpaceX launch in Florida. It was in May 2022, that Musk decided to switch his allegiance from blue to red and publically declared his support of the Republican Party, calling the Democrats a 'party of division & hate'. Even though Musk decided to rally behind the GOP, it didn't automatically ensure his support for Trump as the right man for the job. He instead supported Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a long-time rival of Trump, and even joined a Twitter livestream in May 2023 to support his campaign for the presidency. Despite a social media feud with Trump in 2022, Musk took the call to reinstate Trump's Twitter account after buying the company in October of that year. His account had previously been suspended from the platform following the US Capitol attack on January 6, 2021. This move came four days after Trump announced his third run for the presidency. It was after an assassination attempt during his election rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, that Musk first announced public support for Trump's presidency via a social media post. Trump and Musk came together on an X livestream to share their views on various political topics during which the Tesla CEO expressed a willingness to serve in government by posting a picture of him as a representative of a new department: DoGE. Musk reportedly became the largest spender in the 2024 presidential election by contributing about a quarter of a billion dollars for several Republicans' campaigns, specifically that of Trump. He was then spotted standing next to the presidential candidate in an October rally back at the Pennsylvania location of Trump's failed assassination attempt while wearing a 'Make America Great Again' cap and calling him the only candidate 'to preserve democracy in America'. One of Trump's first moves after returning to the White House was to pass an executive order that materialized DoGE into reality. Musk and former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy were now tasked with identifying and cutting down on wasteful spending and frauds in the bureaucracy. The President also attended a SpaceX 'Starship' launch in Texas during this time to express his support for Musk. January 2025 Trump gave Musk a special shoutout during his election night victory speech by calling him an 'amazing guy' and saying, 'A star is born.' As head of the DoGE, Musk took active measures to cut costs but failed to meet his target of saving up to $1 trillion during his time in office which would have helped cut down on the $36 trillion US debt and possibly circulate stimulus checks among the American population. He was soon included in the President's inner circle as a trusted advisor and regularly attended cabinet meetings or traveled aboard Air Force One. When Trump opponents protested against Musk's company, the President rolled onto the White House's South Lawn in a red Tesla to publically announce support for the car and his friend. He took to social media to applaud Musk for doing a 'FANTASTIC JOB' and said that he would buy a brand new Tesla the very next day. Due to flaking investor confidence in the Tesla CEO's ability to devote time to the company and the lapse of the 130 days for special government employees like Musk, Trump announced that his confidant would soon be leaving DoGE. 'You're invited to stay as long as you want. At some point, he wants to get back home to his cars,' said Trump during a cabinet meeting. During a May 29 CBS interview, Musk expressed his disappointment with several provisions in Trump's new public spending bill which he felt would increase the budget deficit and undermine all the work he had been trying to do at DOGE. 'I was, like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decrease it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,' he said. Trump gave the former DoGE head a farewell the next day as he left office by saying, 'Elon's really not leaving. He's going to be back and forth, I think, I have a feeling.' Once out of office, Musk started voicing his criticism of Trump's 'Big, Beautiful Bill' in harsher terms by labeling it a 'disgusting abomination." Trump subsequently threatened to cancel Musk's governmental subsidies and contracts. Musk clapped back by claiming that Trump would not have won the presidency without him. Musk reshared posts critical of the President on his page including one that demanded Trump's impeachment. During the spar, Trump blamed Musk's social media lash-out on his decision to end tax credits for electric vehicles. The feud reached a peak on Thursday when Musk dropped a bomb by claiming that Trump is intentionally shielding the full release of the Epstein files due to his involvement in the case.

Trump-Musk breakup saga wrecks the MAGA soap opera

The only thing left for Donald Trump and Elon Musk to do after Thursday's bust-up is to pull each other's hair. Short of that, they have ticked every box for a street fight that would make even a toddler the petty, messy, and public breakup, Trump has completed the task of turning the White House into a big, beautiful spectacle. Serves Americans right for electing a reality show host to run the Oval Office. And a deserved karmic punch for Musk for bankrolling a President with a history of biting the hand that feeds departure from the Trump administration a week ago signalled the end of their bromance. But nobody expected them to bicker in public like two bitter exes ready to spill bedroom secrets. Unfortunately, like in all relationships, size matters, and the ego of the two was too big. One loved to blow his own Trumpet, the other considered himself a Musketeer. A medieval-era duel was loading.A bromance turns ugly The feud, like a melodramatic script about a public breakup, is a voyeur's dream. On May 30, 2025, Musk abruptly resigned from the Trump administration, where he was heading the Department of Government Efficiency (DoGE), tasked with streamlining federal operations.A day later, Musk appeared at the Oval Office with a black eye for a mushy farewell. With slobbering tributes to each other, the two appeared to have made up, pending a kiss. On June 3, Musk fired a fresh salvo, calling Trump's big beautiful bill a pork-filled disaster. 'I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore,' he posted, calling the bill a disgusting abomination. The next day, he asked his 220 million followers on X to kill the bill, and unfollowed key Trump aides. But the jilted exes were just warming June 5, the fight escalated during Trump's meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Trump, stung by Musk's criticism, said, 'I'm very disappointed in Elon. I've helped him a lot.'In characteristic Trump fashion, he mocked Musk's black eye: 'I said, 'You want a little makeup?' He said, 'No.'' Trump claimed Musk knew the bill's details and is mad about losing EV subsidies. Musk fired back on X in real-time: 'False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night!'After this, it was time to recount favours and spill secrets, a hallmark of all bust-ups between besties. Musk: 'Without me, Trump would have lost the election.' Trump (on Truth Social): 'Elon was 'wearing thin,' I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate and he just went CRAZY!' He threatens to cut Musk's contracts: 'Billions and Billions of Dollars.' Musk: 'Such an obvious lie. So sad.' Drops a bomb: '@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!' Later, he agrees with an X post calling for Trump's impeachment and replacement by JD Vance: 'Yes.' He also floats a new political party: 'Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?'Jokers in a circusadvertisementWhile the world noted that the 'girls are fighting' and seized on the drama with a meme fest, shares of Tesla sank 14.3%, wiping off $150-billion of investor wealth. Trump's empire tanked 8%, losing $100 million in comedic circus has several shades of irony. The self-proclaimed best deal-maker in the world couldn't save his alliance with Musk. And the world's smartest entrepreneur invested in a president who is now threatening to take down the Musk is a convicted felon who falsified business records and paid hush money to a porn star. Musk, according to The New York Times, is addicted to drugs; he is also obsessed with the idea of fathering a legion by donating his sperm. In the past, both the divas got out of holes they had dug for themselves by using power and hush money. But this time, the fight is between the world's most powerful man and the world's chaotic and unpredictable, both Trump and Musk embody hubris. This confluence of evil traits promises an Armageddon that threatens to rattle America. Though Musk has shown signs of backing out of a fight, hell hath no fury like Trump followers have already demanded a probe into Musk's business and past. They want Musk's immigration record checked, insinuating that he entered America illegally. A blowback a week ago, Trump and Musk were thick as thieves, pulling off the MAGA heist on gullible Yankees. But by duking it out in public, they have spurned even the thieves' honour code. Expect the unexpected secrets, imagine the worst threats. It is open season in the of them are likely to wash so much dirty linen in public that the world would see them for what they are: emperors without even a fig leaf of InMust Watch
