Chuck Schumer's hilarious mistake forces Democrats to define a ‘woman'
Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has forced his party to read the definition of a woman after he compelled the reading of US President Donald Trump's 'One Big, Beautiful Bill' on the Senate floor.
In a post on X, Schumer announced he would object to the bill moving forward without a public reading, later declaring on the Senate floor that he objected.
The definitions were included in Trump's 'One Big, Beautiful Bill' because of the 'Do No Harm in Medicaid Act' which aims to prohibit federal Medicaid funding of gender transitions for minors and defines sex as either male or female, as biologically determined.
Trump's bill passed a major hurdle after Republicans voted to approve a key procedural step to pass the bill before the July 4 deadline.
