Qatar sees 1,311 realty deals worth $1.65bln in Q2

Doha: Qatar's real estate market witnessed an upward growth trajectory as it recorded 1,311 real estate transactions worth QR6.028bn in the second quarter (April to June) of this year. Compared to the second quarter (Q2) of last year, this shows an impressive surge of 62 percent and 88 percent in the property trading volume and value of transactions, respectively, as Q2 of 2024 saw 808 transactions worth QR3.191bn. In the second quarter, the real estate transactions logged the highest value during May this year with a total of QR2.518bn. While April 2025 registered QR1.825bn and June QR1.684bn in value of transactions, according to data released by Ministry of Justice, yesterday. Doha Municipality recorded 359 real estate transactions worth QR2.999bn, followed by Al Rayyan Municipality, which recorded 347 deals worth QR1.434bn, and Al Dhaayen Municipality with 174 transactions valued at QR564.783m in Q2 this year. Al Wakrah Municipality registered 202 property deals worth QR450.228m, while Umm Slal logged 128 trades worth QR403.791m. Al Khor and Dhakira saw 63 trades with a total value of QR123.379m. The municipalities of Al Shamal and Al Sheehaniya registered transactions worth QR49.795m and QR2.3m, respectively. During Q2 2025, in terms of the number of sold real estates, the most active municipalities were Doha and Al Rayyan (27%) for each and Al Wakrah (15%). While in Q2 2024, Al Rayyan (26%), followed by Doha (25%), then Al Dhaayen (15%) each as the most active municipalities for the number of sold real estates. The data further revealed that the average price per square foot price for a building stood at QR973 in Doha, QR549 in Al Daayen, QR461 in Al Wakrah, QR442 in Umm Slal, QR425 in Al Rayyan, QR363 in Al Khor and Dhakira, QR273 in Al Shamal, and QR252 in Al Sheehaniya municipality. Meanwhile, the average price per square foot of vacant land was recorded at QR441 in Doha, QR330 in Al Rayyan, QR298 in Al Dhaayen, QR264 in Al Wakrah, QR264 in Umm Slal, QR218 in Al Khor and Dakhira, and QR169 in Al Shamal. (Al Sheehaniya Municipality has not registered any vacant land sale transactions.) According to the area index in Q2 2025, indices show that the most active municipalities in real estate trading movement were Al Rayyan (32%), then Doha (27%), followed by Al Wakrah (14%) of the total transactions. Seven out of ten most expensive properties sold in Q2 2025 were in Doha Municipality. The most expensive deal was QR336m in Al Dafna. The second highest transaction was for a property in The Pearl Island valued at QR260m followed by Fereej Bin Mahmoud which fetched QR158m, Fereej Al Soudan QR150m while another property in Al Sadd and Umm Slal Mohammad was traded for QR80m and QR69m respectively. On the other hand, top ten transactions included two properties in the Municipality of Al Rayyan, which includes the areas of Al Sadd (QR87m), and Umm Lekhba (QR70m). Qatar: Realty sector sees significant growth in mortgage activity

Doha: The volume of mortgage transactions of the real estate sector in Qatar recorded 117 transactions with a total amount of QR4.664bn in May this year. This shows a surge of 103 percent when compared to the previous month as the volume of mortgage transactions during April 2025 amounted to 114 transactions, with a total value of QR2.299bn. Doha Municipality and Al Rayyan Municipality registered the highest number of mortgage transactions with 31 (equivalent to 26.5 percent) of the total number of mortgaged properties, followed by Al Wakrah Municipality with 19 transactions (equivalent to 16.2 percent). Then Al Khor, Al Dhakira and Umm Slal municipalities with 9 transactions each (equivalent to 7.7 percent) of the total number of mortgaged properties, according to data released by Ministry of Justice. In April this year, Al Rayyan Municipality recorded the highest number of mortgage transactions with 37 transactions, equivalent to 32.5 percent of the total number of mortgaged properties. This was followed by Al Doha with 35 transactions equivalent to 30.7 percent and Al Doha Municipality with 35 transactions representing 30.7 percent of the total. And then both Al Warkah and Umm Salal municipalities with 15 transactions each 13.2 percent of the total mortgaged properties. Regarding the value of mortgages in May 2025, Doha Municipality comes first with amount of QR3.080bn while Al Khor and Al Dhakira Municipality registered the lowest value which reached QR12.647m and QR233m respectively. The real estate trading data during the month shows that the real estate sector continues its steady growth strongly in various investment and commercial fields, thus continuing the active trading movement witnessed by the sector during the recent period, especially with the issuance of new laws and decisions related to real estate brokerage, real estate registration and documentation, ownership and usufruct, in addition to laws attracting local and foreign capital. This data also confirms the strength and solidity of the foundations of the Qatari economy and the continued growth of the real estate sector as one of its main components. Considering the indicator of movement of mortgage transactions by studying the ratio of the number of mortgaged properties to the ratio of their financial value, the data revealed the ratio of the number of mortgaged properties is greater than the ratio of the amounts of mortgage transactions in all municipalities that witnessed mortgage transactions, except for Doha and Al Wakrah municipalities It was also revealed that the amounts of mortgage transactions achieved a higher rate compared to the number of mortgage transactions. A quick glance and tracking the movement and volume of mortgage transactions that were processed during May this year it was found that Doha Municipality registered five mortgaged properties while Al Rayyan one property. The volume of mortgage transactions for the top ten properties reached 86 percent of the total value of the mortgage transactions that were processed during May this year. Meanwhile, during May this year the trading movement in the residential units witnessed 213 deals with a total value of QR454.693m. Doha Municipality launches 'Muzoon' electric vehicle to serve mourners at cemeteries

DOHA: In an innovative step reflecting Doha Municipality's commitment to enhancing sustainable urban progress, the municipality, represented by the Services Affairs Department (Cemetery Services Section), has launched a new electric vehicle named 'Muzoon'. It is the first vehicle of its kind dedicated to cemetery mourners and equipped with an integrated handwashing station. The Services Affairs Department confirmed that 'Muzoon' will operate regularly at the Mesaimeer Cemetery in Doha, with future plans to expand the service to enhance visitors' experience and promote a culture of public hygiene. This unique initiative responds to the community's need for a hygienic and practical means of handwashing with water and soap after burial ceremonies. One of the electric golf carts has been redesigned and converted into a mobile unit equipped with a modern handwashing station and drying system, available free of charge to cemetery visitors. The name 'Muzoon' is inspired by rain clouds, symbolizing purity and cleanliness. The campaign coincided with the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. The ministry said the campaign aims to reduce desert areas within Doha by planting vegetation in urban areas, in line with sustainable development goals, particularly those related to combating desertification. DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Doha Municipality, announced the success of the first phase of its project to combat desertification and improve the urban landscape as part of th 'Let's Make it More Beautiful'campaign that was launched in early 2025. The campaign coincided with the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. The ministry said in a statement on Thursday that the campaign aims to reduce desert areas within Doha by planting vegetation in urban areas, in line with sustainable development goals, particularly those related to halting land degradation and combating desertification. The first phase saw the planting of more than 110,000 seedlings of wind and arid climate resistant plants across a 15,000-meter-long stretch in strategic locations including Airport Road, Al Jamiaa Street, and the Najma District, using sustainable technologies that are compatible with the local environment. The second phase included planting a 10,000-meter-long windbreak hedge on several main streets, including Al Messila, the Arab League, Al Khafji, and the entrance to Beach 974. The project also included preparing the relevant lands for the completion of the hedge planting. The ministry confirmed that the campaign extends over four gradual phases until 2030. Through this project, the ministry seeks to eliminate desert landscapes within the city and enhance environmental sustainability in Doha, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the state's commitments to environmental conservation.
