Steven Spielberg showcases action-packed scenes from his upcoming untitled movie
Steven Spielberg may be in his 70s, but retirement is not on his list. At a special event in Los Angeles on June 26, he showed the first behind-the-scenes look at his next film. It happened during a grand moment, Universal named a brand-new screening room after him. The event saw many big names in the audience, Vin Diesel, Jeff Goldblum, Ava DuVernay, Seth Rogen, and more. Spielberg stood on stage and said the theatre dedication meant a lot, calling it a full-circle moment since Universal gave him his first break over 50 years ago. Emily Blunt steals the spotlight in dramatic clip While the new movie is still untitled, the footage got everyone excited. Spielberg didn't confirm the rumoured UFO theme, but the scenes gave hints. Emily Blunt's character, caught in a tense situation, was chased by men in black cars. At a crucial point, her car crashes into a speeding train. She and co-star Josh O'Connor barely escape through the windshield. They attempt an escape through the broken windshield as the vehicle gets chewed alive between screeching metal & tracks. There were explosions, farmhouses getting wrecked, and eerie control rooms that looked like something out of a space lab. Colin Firth looked like the villain, calm and scary, possibly leading some underground mission. The tone felt dark and gripping. Steven Spielberg still has stories to tell The film also stars Colman Domingo and Eve Hewson, but their roles weren't fully clear in the preview. Spielberg said the movie is coming in 2026 and he's still excited about telling big stories. He praised young filmmakers too but avoided naming favourites, saying too many impress him right now. As he sees the official opening of his namesake theatre on the Universal lot, Steven Spielberg says he has no plans to retire…ever… from making movies. Talking about Ryan Coogler's recent film Sinners, Spielberg said, 'It's a personal story and a big crowd-pleaser too. That gives me hope for the future of movies in theatres.' A night to remember at Universal The new 'Spielberg Theater' seats 250 people and has all the latest tech, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and can even show old-school 35mm and 70mm films. After the dedication, guests enjoyed sushi and cocktails, while an exhibit showed off props from Spielberg's movies. Fans saw the original E.T. bike and Laura Dern's outfit from Jurassic Park.

Steven Spielberg unveils intense new film footage during Universal's theater tribute
Steven Spielberg was the guest of honour at Universal Studios on Thursday night, where the studio officially named its new, state-of-the-art screening room after the legendary director. The event brought out a star-studded crowd including the Daniels, Seth Rogen, Ava DuVernay, Colman Domingo, and Vin Diesel. Taking the stage at the emotional gathering, Spielberg, 77, reflected on his decades-long relationship with the studio - from directing his first project Duel in 1971 to recent releases like The Fabelmans. 'It feels like we keep getting remarried,' he joked. 'But tonight is definitely a milestone.' As if to prove he's far from slowing down, Spielberg also gave guests an exclusive first look at behind-the-scenes footage from his mysterious upcoming film, slated for release in 2026. While plot details remain under wraps, the cast includes Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, and Colin Firth. The preview teased high-stakes action: Blunt's character flees ominous black vehicles, a harrowing train collision unfolds, and Firth appears to be a shadowy figure pulling strings from what looks like a high-tech command centre. Although Spielberg hasn't confirmed the film's theme, the chase sequences, underground labs, and eerie suspense suggest a sci-fi edge, possibly even the long-rumoured UFO plot. NBCUniversal's Donna Langley and Comcast's top brass hosted the ceremony, describing the new 'Spielberg Theater' as the heart of their expanded film campus. The TVs promise premium yet accessible home entertainment in terms of audio and video both. Successor to the 2024 Vu Vibe TV series, the new TVs offer features such as Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, along with Google TV OS, Google Chromecast and Apple AirPlay. They sport an all-black minimalist design with a floating glass display and a bezel-less look on three sides. In addition, the new TVs can get up to 400 nits bright, offer 60 Hz refresh rate and host a VuON AI Processor for picture processing and upscaling. Connectivity options include 3 HDMI ports with support for eARC on one, 2 USB ports and optical audio out and a headphone jack. The Vibe DV supports Dolby Vision and Atmos and runs Google TV OS Now let's talk about a key feature of the Vu Vibe DV TVs - the integrated soundbar. It has a rated output of 88 Watts, which is quite impressive for TVs in this price bracket, and with support for Dolby Atmos too. If you happen to buy this TV, most may not need a separate soundbar or audio system; something we will confirm only after we review the TV. One can also use the integrated soundbar as a wireless speaker or audio system by switching off the display.
