(AP Photo/Stephen Brashear) SEATTLE (AP) — Vinnie Pasquantino had a two-run single in the seventh inning and the Kansas City Royals beat the Seattle Mariners 3-2 on Thursday night. Bobby Witt Jr. tied the score 1-1 with a single to center field with one out and then stole second base to put two runners in scoring position. Pasquantino grounded a single to right field drive in both runners, with Witt scoring after making an elusive move to avoid the tag from catcher Cal Raleigh to give the Royals a two-run lead. Advertisement Seth Lugo (6-5) allowed just one run on six hits in 6 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out seven. Lucas Erceg and Taylor Clarke got two outs each, and Carlos Estévez pitched 1 1/3 innings to get his 24th save. Estévez gave up a leadoff homer to Dominic Canzone in the ninth and had runners on second and third after a wild pitch with one out, but struck out Julio Rodríguez and got Raleigh to ground out to end the game. Jorge Polanco homered in the fourth inning to put the Mariners up 1-0, and also had two doubles,. Logan Evans, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma, made his first big league start since May 10 and gave up three hits in 5 2/3 scoreless innings. He walked one and struck out three. Advertisement Casey Legumina (4-4) walked the first two batters to begin the seventh inning and was replaced by Carlos Vargas, who gave up the run-scoring hits to Witt and Pasquantino. Key moment The Royals capitalized on consecutive walks by Kyle Isbel and Jonathan India against Legumijna to start the seventh, setting the stage for Witt and Pasquantino. Key stat Witt has now hit safely in his last 23 road games, breaking Hal McRae's 42-year-old Kansas City record. (AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez) ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Marcus Semien had an RBI single with the bases loaded in the 10th inning and the Texas Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners 3-2 on Saturday. Mariners reliever Andrés Muñoz (3-1) hit Josh Smith with his first pitch after striking out Sam Haggerty to begin the 10th. Corey Seager — who homered in the third to give Texas a 2-1 lead — fell behind in the count 1-2 before working a walk to load the bases with one out for Semien. Advertisement Semien fouled off fastballs Muñoz reaching from 100.2 mph and 99.7 mph before hitting the game-winner to right field on a 100.1 mph pitch with a full count. Shawn Armstrong (3-3) struck out two in a scoreless 10th for the win. Dominic Canzone led off the third with his fifth home run — a 425-foot shot to right field on a 0-2 pitch from Rangers rookie Kumar Rocker to give the Mariners a 1-0 lead. J.P. Crawford had a two-out throwing error and Seager followed with his ninth home run to give Texas the lead against Mariners starter Bryan Woo in the bottom of the inning. Randy Arozarena's RBI single in the sixth tied it 2-all. Advertisement Woo pitched six innings and matched his career high with nine strikeouts for the second straight start. He gave up five hits and has pitched at least six innings in all 16 starts. Félix Hernández set the Mariners' single-season record with 18 in 2014. Rocker allowed two runs and five hits in six innings with six strikeouts. He has allowed just four runs in his last three starts covering 16 1/3 innings. Texas has played four extra-inning games this season with three coming in the last four games. Seattle won the series opener 7-6 in 12 innings Friday. Raleigh slams another homer in last game of the series against the Cubs
Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh hit his 31st home run on Sunday in an away game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. The home run came at the top of the first inning in the last game of the series against the Cubs. Advertisement This marks the fourth home run for Raleigh in three days during this series. The Mariners won the game 14-6, with additional home runs from Donovan Solano and Dominic Canzone hitting two homers each. The series has been very successful for Raleigh. In Friday's game, he became the first catcher to hit the most home runs, passing Hall of Famer Johnny Bench, who set the record in 1970. On Saturday, he became the second Mariner to hit 30 home runs before the All-Star break, joining Ken Griffey Jr, who did it twice. It is also the 14th time in Major League Baseball (MLB) history that a player has reached 30 home runs before the end of June. Mariners will start their next series against the Minnesota Twins on Monday at 4:40 p.m.

Cal Raleigh hit his major league-leading 31st homer for Seattle on a hot and windy afternoon at Wrigley Field. Dominic Canzone went deep twice as the Mariners won the rubber game of a weekend set that featured a total of 21 homers for the two teams. Advertisement Raleigh connected in the first inning against Colin Rea (4-3). The two-run drive to center field was his fourth homer of the series. Seiya Suzuki homered twice and drove in three runs for the Cubs in their third loss in four games. Kyle Tucker and Reese McGuire also went deep for the NL Central leaders. Chicago trimmed Seattle's lead to 5-4 when Suzuki hit a two-run shot off Logan Gilbert (2-2) with two down in the fifth. It was Suzuki's 20th homer of the season.
