How Wissa outshot Solanke last season

Tottenham are exploring a move for Brentford's Yoane Wissa in a bid to bolster their attacking six sides scored more Premier League goals than Spurs' 64 last season, which suggests it is not their most significant problem. Yet, given Wissa was instrumental for one of those teams that outscored Tottenham, a move for him might prove season he scored 19 times and provided four Premier League assists, outstripping Spurs' leading striker Dominic Solanke, who found the net nine times and created a further three, albeit from 700 minutes converted 21% of his shots compared with 15% for Solanke, pointing to a clinical edge that could prove significant in Thomas Frank's first season in that finishing touch is not enough, Wissa enjoys a battle too. He won possession 81 times in the last campaign, compared with a mark of 38 for of course, having achieved all that success under Frank at the Bees, he would immediately understand what his manager wanted from you excited by a move for Wissa? Inside jet-setting England star Dominic Solanke's honeymoon with wife Erica that even Arsenal rival can't help but like

DOMINIC SOLANKE enjoyed "the best holiday ever" during his stunning honeymoon with wife Erica. The Tottenham striker and his beau spent their first away trip as a married couple across breathtaking locations in East Africa. 10 10 10 10 Their blissful honeymoon comes hot on the heels of a memorable period for the England international, who recently helped Spurs win the Europa League in May. Weeks later Solanke tied the knot with Erica in a lavish ceremony in Lake Como, Italy in front of family and friends on June 17. And now, Solanke has shared untold dazzling snaps from their post-nuptial vacation in paradise on Instagram. The loved-up couple travelled to Kenya's famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. A night in a honeymoon suite can range from $1,000 to $2,000 (about £727 - £1,455) The 27-year-old shared 20 PICTURES in one post, showing videos of the beautiful Safari desert at sunset, as well as close-up visuals of lions and elephants. In one heart-warming clip, the Spurs frontman signed a football for two excited local fans. The smitten couple then enjoyed a jumping dance show, called the 'Adumu', from the Maasai people. And online fans were seriously impressed, with one writing: " Nice to see a footballer go somewhere other than Dubai or LA!" The incredible pictures even left one Arsenal rival jealous, with Declan Rice liking both posts. Inside the life of Dominic Solanke's 'soulmate' fiance Erica Ramondi who he nicknames his 'queen', is dripping in designer and is a tiny 5ft1, despite the striker being 6ft3 It's unclear how they met and got together, but Solanke popped the question while on holiday in the Maldives in November 2022. They announced that they were expecting their first child together in May 2023, and shortly after hosted a gender reveal party for family and friends. Erica, who measures up at a tiny 5ft1, shares regular snippets into lavish 'baecations' and date nights with 6ft3 Solanke. After writing that he'd had the "best holiday experience to date", Solanke and his wife jetted more than 1000 miles to the Seychelles Island for a low-key beach holiday. The former Liverpool star then shared another 20 pictures in a second post, captioned: "Pt.2☀️🏝️". The happy pair were spotted winding down a couple of glasses of wine at a sunset dinner on the beach, and by the pool. Other snaps showed a white sandy beach with crystal clear water, while they also spent time in the gym together. 10 10 Spurs team-mate James Maddison, who is expecting a second set of twins with partner Kennedy Alexa, commented: "Nice dump Dom." While his Liverpool rival and England pal Curtis Jones simply put: "Very nice." Meanwhile, Tottenham target Justin Kluivert replied: "Life 💆🏽‍♂️". Solanke, who joined Spurs from Bournemouth in August 2024, was also spotted at various locations in Nairobi earlier this week. He is enjoying a well-earned break across the continent before returning to North London for pre‑season training under new boss Thomas Frank. Spurs, who finished 17th last season, host newly-promoted Burnley in their first game of the season on August 16. 10 10 10

Thomas Frank facing major dilemma over Tottenham players' futures including Son Heung-min and £60m Richarlison

DOMINIC SOLANKE will feel ace after hearing the comments of his new boss Thomas Frank. Frank, snapped playing table-tennis at Tottenham's training ground yesterday, spoke glowingly of the England striker during his first interview. 6 6 6 He served up compliments to other players too — though keen-eared fans also noted those the Dane did NOT mention. Frank, 51, is only just through the door and will take time assessing his current squad with 2½ weeks until players return for pre-season. But then he must decide who is in and who is out as he bids to turn Spurs into a smash hit for the new Premier League campaign . . . GOALKEEPER FRANK is unlikely to bring in or ship out any of his main stoppers. There was some talk of AC Milan being interested in Guglielmo Vicario should Mike Maignan leave, but Spurs sources dismissed the prospect of selling the Italian, 28. The biggest question mark will be whether he sticks with Vicario as his first choice or if Antonin Kinsky, 22, signed from Slavia Prague for £12.5million in January, can convince him a swap is needed. Long-serving back-up Brandon Austin remains third choice while Alfie Whiteman leaves this month and highly-rated Josh Keeley could go out on loan again after spending last season at Leyton Orient. DEFENCE QUESTIONS remain over the future of Cristian Romero, one of those stars not named by Frank. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS The Argentine World Cup winner, 27, appeared to be agitating for a move last season, even speaking of his desire to play in LaLiga during a candid interview. Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone would love to sign him but a proposed £60million price tag could be prohibitive for a player who has two years left on his contract. Bryan Mbeumo give his reaction to Thomas Frank becoming Tottenham manager 6 Fans will also demand a quality replacement if Romero goes. Spurs offered £70m for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi in January and the England man would likely be a target again. One who may benefit either way is Radu Dragusin, who met Frank this week along with the club's other injured players. The Romanian, 23, damaged knee ligaments in February and never seemed to fit into Ange Postecoglou's style. But Frank has a history of getting the best out of no-nonsense centre-backs. Sergio Reguilon is out on a free transfer, leaving Spurs with only three recognised full-backs — if you do not count the versatile Ben Davies. So another is likely to be required. MIDFIELD FRANK spoke of trying to get the best out of James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur, so both seem to be part of his plans. Spurs hope to tie down the Uruguayan to a new contract with only a year left. But if that does not happen an exit would not be ruled out amid interest from Atletico. Yves Bissouma also has only 12 months remaining and a few weeks ago fans would have expected the Malian, 28, to be sold given how far down the pecking order he fell under Postecoglou. But he played a pivotal role in the Europa League win over Manchester United and, with Frank often favouring two holding midfielders, his future is harder to call. Spurs want the Dane to develop their young talent, including teenagers Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray. But another holding midfielder, perhaps with more experience, could be on Frank's shopping list. ATTACK 'DOMINIC SOLANKE, I'm a big fan of him in terms of his abilities. I'm sure we'll make him score a lot of goals.' So said Frank of Spurs' £65m striker, who was always going to be central to his approach. But who backs up the England man and plays wide? Spurs have been open to selling Richarlison, 28, for a while now but, with his injury record and two years left on his deal, they might struggle to get an offer for the Brazilian that they will find acceptable. There is serious interest in Bryan Mbeumo, 25, who scored 20 Prem goals for Frank's Brentford last term — but Manchester United are also keen. Mathys Tel, 20, has signed permanently after his spell on loan from Bayern Munich but another speedy wideman may be targeted given how Frank likes his teams to break at pace. Then there is captain Son Heung-min, who is open to leaving after marking ten years at the club by lifting a trophy. Son turns 33 next month, is wanted by Saudi clubs, as well as former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce and also has only a year left on his contract. But his unique commercial value means Spurs will not let him go on the cheap — and almost certainly not until after the club's tour to South Korea at the start of August.

'I'm a big fan' - Thomas Frank backs Tottenham star to 'score a lot of goals'

Thomas Frank says he is a 'big fan' of Dominic Solanke and is confident the striker can become a prolific goalscorer under his guidance at Tottenham. Spurs put an end to weeks of speculation as they officially announced Frank's appointment to the media last Thursday, with the ex-Brentford boss putting pen to paper on a three-year contract in north London. The 51-year-old is tasked with picking up the pieces left by Ange Postecoglou, who steered Tottenham to Europa League glory while also overseeing the club's worst-ever season in the Premier League. Though Frank must wait a little longer to put his Spurs' squad through their paces, he has spent the past few days acclimating to his new home at Hotspur Way. Frank's first match at the helm will be Tottenham's pre-season contest at Luton Town on July 26 and the Dane is clearly looking forward to putting his ideas into action ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. 'It's a very talented squad, a very good squad and I'm very excited to start working with them,' Frank told Tottenham's official website. 'Of course, when you follow the Premier League, you see the other teams, you see Tottenham – you've seen some fantastic performances from the team over the last years. So, I think there's big potential. 'But, of course, I'm looking from the outside, so I'm looking forward to getting to know them, to be around them, to feel them, understand them, work with them on the training pitch. 'That's where you really get the big understanding, understand the relationships between players and how you can get the best out of them. 'I've got an idea already, my head is spinning [with] how can we play, how do I put them together, but I'm looking forward to that.' Frank is relishing the opportunity to work with Tottenham's players, both young and old, and is already thinking about how to get the best of Solanke, who managed just nine league goals last term. 'When I say 'talented', it's not only young players, it's also some of the more experienced players. How can we get the best out of them?' he added. 'Let's say, Dominic Solanke. I'm a big fan of him in terms of his abilities. I'm sure we'll make him score a lot of goals. How can we play (Rodrigo) Bentancur? (James) Maddison? 'But of course, the younger ones as well. I think it's all players that we need to develop and make perform at the highest level, but of course, Lucas, Archie, Wilson, Destiny (Udogie), all of them, they have high ceilings. 'Even the ones I haven't mentioned – the whole squad can do well. I'm big on, how do you say… it's always about winning. 'We need to make the team win on a Saturday, a Tuesday, then again Saturday and a Wednesday, but it's also about developing the individual player. 'That's me and my staff, and the player, how we work together about that on a day-to-day basis. Because we lift the players' performance, develop them, the team will grow and perform better, and hopefully give us an opportunity to win more matches.' More Trending The north London outfit completed their first piece of transfer business last weekend as Mathys Tel completed a permanent move following an initial loan deal. 'I'm very, very excited about Mathys signing with a permanent deal,' Frank said of the Frenchman. 'I think he's a very talented player who can play across the front four positions. 'He's a goalscorer, that we can develop even further, and be even more consistent in his all-round game and also more consistent to land in the right positions in the box. I'm looking forward to it.' Who would benefit at Spurs under Frank?

From attacking flair and bravery, to at times being more pragmatic, what would Spurs look like under Frank?"It's a surprisingly difficult question to answer because he's a really flexible manager," said football tactics writer Alex Keble. "He will automatically adapt his tactics to whoever the opposition is, a bit like Unai Emery at Aston Villa."In many ways he's the opposite of Ange Postecoglou, who is famously wedded to one idea."There's a statistic - what Opta call 10+ - referring to the number of passes and sequences [in one move]. In 2023-24 Brentford registered 245. In 2024-25 that figure was 325."That tells you as time has gone on, Frank has wanted to play a more possession-based game. There's certainly plenty of counter-attacks, fast transitions and plenty of highly choreographed long balls forward - direct football."So which Tottenham players could benefit from the arrival of Frank, a manager who pays great attention to statisticss?"You can certainly imagine Dominic Solanke linking with Wilson Odobert in a way Wissa and Mbeumo interact," added Keble."Defensively, Tottenham are the least like Brentford. Would Frank look at the Spurs squad and think 'I can't play Brentford football here'?"
