Tyler, The Creator Warns ‘Don't Tap The Glass' On New Album

Tyler, the Creator Tyler, the Creator might be on tour in support of his 2024 album Chromakopia, but the Grammy-winning superstar hasn't let the busy schedule get in the way of creating new music. Just a few days ago, the Los Angeles-area native announced the impending release of his ninth studio album, Don't Tap the Glass; the LP is out now via Columbia Records. Tyler first teased that something was coming July 21 with cryptic posts on social media. On July 18, artwork featuring him and the album's title appeared outside his concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. The project's announcement arrived hours later. In the lead-up to the album's release, Tyler downplayed any hype around the project, including speculation that it would be a concept album. 'Y'all better get them expectations and hopes down,' he wrote on X. 'This ain't no concept nothing.' The 10-track project was born out of a desire to create a party album that people can dance to. He was satisfied with what he made after holding a listening event and seeing hundreds of people react exactly how he wanted them to. 'I asked some friends why they don't dance in public and some said because of the fear of being filmed. I thought, 'Damn, a natural form of expression and a certain connection they have with music is now a ghost.' It made me wonder how much of our human spirit got killed because of the fear of being a meme, all for having a good time,' he wrote on social media. 'This album was not made for sitting still. Dancing, driving, running—any type of movement is recommended to maybe understand the spirit of it.' Chromakopia: The World Tour continues its North American leg in Montreal on July 22 before continuing on to Australasia and Asia later this summer. The tour wraps up Sept. 21 in Quezon City, Philippines.

Tyler The Creator Quashes Rumored ‘Don't Tap The Glass' Tracklist Before Monday Release

Hit rapper Tyler, the Creator, whose real name is Tyler Gregory Okonma, wants everyone to know about the new album he's dropping on Monday, July 21, 2025. But before 34-year-old could officially release what songs are on Don't Tap The Glass, some fans decided to publish their own version of the track list. Not one to usually let rumors and falsehoods fly, Okonma quickly debunked the list, which he called fake in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. Tyler, the Creator has been hyping up the new release for the past few days, teasing the new LP since at least July 16 in posts on social media. Fans may have gotten a little too excited after those teases though, with someone posting a track list on X, which has since been removed, that featured Clipse, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Lola Young, Earl Sweatshirt, Steve Lacy, BADBADNOTGOOD and Brent Faiyaz, according to HotNewHipHop. Tyler, the Creator reposted it and clarified it was "FALSE." "NONE OF THESE PEOPLE ARE ON THIS, I DID NOT POST THIS INFO I DONT KNOW WHERE YOU GOT THIS FROM TO CONFIRM IT," he added. He didn't clarify anything about what's actually going to be included in the new album, which will be is ninth studio album, but at least we know some of the artists who won't be featured. Tyler, the Creator rose to fame alongside a rap group that started in 2007, Odd Future, otherwise known as Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, OF or OFWGKTM. With the group, he played the role of rapper, producer, director and actor. Tyler, the Creator Announces Surprise Album ‘Don't Tap the Glass' Out Monday

After a week of cryptic teasing and late night speculation across social media the Grammy winning rapper and style icon officially confirmed the release of his ninth studio album 'Don't Tap the Glass' which drops this Monday July 21. Fans got their first unambiguous confirmation during Tyler's sold out show at Barclays Center Friday night where the artist shouted out the album title mid performance backed by a full blown art installation that mimicked the forthcoming album's cover. The reveal capped off a feverish 72 hours of clues that included new merchandise appearing on his Golf Wang website Friday evening. The merch which features vinyl records t-shirts and hats emblazoned with the new album's title and aquatic themed visuals marks the first official branding of the project confirming what many fans had already suspected: something was coming. And now we know exactly what. A Pattern of Controlled Chaos 'Don't Tap the Glass' follows Tyler's 2024 release 'Chromakopia' which arrived in a similarly sudden fashion with only two weeks of lead up in October. That album known for its psychedelic production and emotional rawness featured appearances from Doechii Childish Gambino GloRilla and Lil Wayne and was accompanied by a globe spanning 'Chromakopia World Tour' Tyler's rollout strategy has become as unpredictable and stylized as his music. There are rarely radio singles or long press runs just visual cues merch drops and chaotic genius. This time he's letting the music and the spectacle do the talking. Live from Brooklyn 'Don't Tap the Glass' Debuts in Real Time At his fourth and final show in New York City the Brooklyn crowd was the first to witness the album's existence become reality. In the middle of his set Tyler yelled out the words 'Don't Tap the Glass' igniting instant chaos in the arena. Behind him a massive installation on stage recreated what fans believe to be the new album artwork a surreal aquarium like tableau complete with curved glass panels and eerie lighting. The crowd response was instant and electric with many fans taking to X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok to share the moment in real time. 'Bro we're watching history. Tyler just soft launched the new era mid song' one user posted alongside a clip of the moment. What We Know So Far While the full tracklist for 'Don't Tap the Glass' remains under wraps fans are hoping for a continuation of the rich storytelling and genre bending flair that's defined Tyler's recent catalog. The Golf Wang merch drop may hint at underwater or isolationist themes an idea subtly suggested in the translucent aquatic color palette of the visuals. Tyler also previewed a new music video for 'Noid' last week presumed to be the lead single featuring 'The Bear'actress Ayo Edibiri as a teary eyed fan who rushes Tyler backstage. The absurdist tone of the video echoes his earlier work in 'Call Me If You Get Lost The Estate Sale' but with a surrealist twist. There's no confirmation yet on whether 'Noid' will be part of the new album but its timing just days before this surprise announcement suggests it's part of the rollout puzzle. Tyler's World Tour Marches On Despite the album drop Tyler isn't slowing down. He's currently midway through his 'Chromakopia' tour which has already hit major US cities and will continue through North America Australia Japan South Korea and Thailandculminating in two final shows in Manila's Araneta Coliseum on September 20 and 21 It's unclear if 'Don't Tap the Glass' will fold into the existing setlist or get its own tour leg but if Tyler's history is any indicator a hybrid performance model is likely. He's already known for switching costumes stage themes and even entire musical moods from city to city. A Cameo Filled Summer While his own album has been shrouded in secrecy Tyler hasn't exactly been quiet. He recently popped up on Clipse'shotly anticipated comeback album 'Let God Sort Em Out' trading verses with Pusha T and Malice on the paranoid banger 'POV' At a recent show Tyler paid tribute to the Virginia rap duo by pulling out a vinyl copy of their 2002 classic 'Lord Willin'' and calling them one of his biggest inspirations. With his new album just days away fans are now left to wonder what's next and more importantly who might be along for the ride.
