Nepal Embassy hosts literature, labour event

MUSCAT: The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organised a special Literature and Labour Awareness Programme in collaboration with the International Nepali Literature Society, Oman. The event took place at Nepal House and aims to raise awareness on labour-related issues through literary expression, while celebrating and promoting the richness of Nepali language, literature and culture in honour of Adikabi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, Nepal's first poet. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp by Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman. In his welcome address, Ambassador Aryal paid tribute to Bhanu Bhakta, highlighting his immense contributions to Nepali literature. He also underlined several important topics related to labour awareness, including the importance of preparing essential documents and promoting safe practices for foreign employment. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to all participants for their creative and inspiring literary presentations. Nepal Embassy hosts literature, labour event The event featured a vibrant mix of literary and cultural performances, including poetry recitals, songs and ghazals, all celebrating Nepali heritage. A labour awareness video produced by the Embassy was also presented and additional related videos will be uploaded on the official website for wider public dissemination. About 18 participants shared their original works, each receiving a certificate of appreciation and a token of gratitude for their valuable contributions. The programme was jointly conducted by Bishesh Kumar Sah, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal and Bikash Ghale, representative of the International Nepali Literature Society, Oman.

Muscat: To mark the 212th Bhanu Jayanti, the Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organised a Literature and Labour Awareness Programme in collaboration with the International Nepali Literature Society, Oman. The event took place at Nepal House on 11 July 2025 from 15:00 to 19:00 hours. The primary objective was to raise awareness on labour-related issues through literary expressions while also celebrating and promoting the richness of Nepali language, literature, and culture in honour of Adikabi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, the first poet of Nepal. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional Panas lamp by Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman. In his welcome address, Ambassador Aryal paid tribute to Bhanu Bhakta Acharya and reflected immense contributions of Bhanu Bhakta to Nepali literature. He highlighted several matters of labour awareness including preparation of vital documents to raising awareness for safe foreign employment. He also expressed gratitude to all the participants who showcased their literary presentations. The event featured a variety of literary and cultural performances, including poetry recitals, songs, and ghazals, all celebrating Nepali heritage. Labour awareness related video produced by the Embassy was also presented during the event. Few videos will be uploaded on the official website for mass dissemination. A total of 18 participants shared their creative works, including poems, songs, and ghazals. Each participant received a certificate of appreciation and a token of gratitude for their contributions. Muscat – Embassy of Nepal in Muscat hosted a trade, investment, employment and tourism promotion event last week aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation with Oman in key sectors including manpower, tourism and business. The event brought together Omani business leaders, company representatives and hypermarket executives to explore avenues for collaboration and investment. Addressing the gathering, H E Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to Oman, reaffirmed his country's commitment to expanding manpower deployment to the sultanate. 'We are committed to increasing the number of Nepali workers in Oman and simplifying their recruitment process through digital systems, robust support services and policy reforms,' he said. He also encouraged Omani stakeholders to explore investment opportunities in Nepal, highlighting potential in hydropower, tourism and energy. Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary at the embassy, made a detailed presentation outlining key areas for Omani investment, including hydropower, agriculture and IT. He also showcased Nepali products with strong export potential and briefed attendees on simplified recruitment procedures. As part of its digital transformation strategy, the Embassy of Nepal launched an online portal for Institutional Demand Attestation in 2024. Since then, all attestation-related procedures have been conducted digitally, eliminating the need for manual submissions. Recruiters in Oman can now complete all documentation through the portal after selecting from among 1,400 registered recruiting agencies in Nepal. Embassy officials noted the fact that the digital shift has improved transparency and efficiency in the recruitment process. The embassy reiterated its intention to continue facilitating bilateral engagement, with a focus on promoting tourism, employment and trade cooperation between the two countries.

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional Nepali lamp Panas by Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman. In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Aryal acknowledged the vital contributions of Nepali workers to Oman's economy and expressed Nepal's intent to expand its workforce in line with Oman's Vision 2040. He emphasised Nepal's ongoing reforms to simplify recruitment through digital platforms and policy enhancements, while also inviting participants to explore Nepal's investment potential in key sectors such as hydropower, tourism, and renewable energy. Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary, presented detailed insights into Nepal's trade and investment landscape. He identified high-potential export products and outlined attractive investment opportunities in hydropower, tourism, agriculture, and IT. Sah also introduced streamlined procedures for employers interested in recruiting Nepali manpower and showcased a newly developed web-based app integrated within the e-portal for Online Demand Attestation. The app enables the automatic generation of six essential documents for demand attestation, significantly easing the recruitment process. Attendees also viewed a promotional video and presentation highlighting Nepal's tourism appeal. The event also featured the distribution of souvenirs showcasing Nepal's iconic Himalayan landscapes and tourist destinations.
