Double Bay waterfront sale falls over, then sells for $2m less

A historic sandstone waterfront mansion in Double Bay exchanged at $22m more than a year ago but the sale fell through … now, a new deal has just been done at $20m to a different buyer. The five-bedroom estate on a 978sqm block at 21 Gladswood Gardens, which was the coach house of the Gladswood Estate, has been owned by the MacMahon family since it was bought for $782,000 in 1983. The sold sticker went up last May, and sources say the expat purchaser back then couldn't sell their Hong Kong property so couldn't proceed. Enter Cohen Handler buyer's agent, Tom Penfold, who's scooped it up for his eastern suburbs lady client at $2m less than the original agreed price. She hails from one of Australia's biggest restaurant empires - can you guess the identity of this 'nepo baby'?

She's the middle child of one of Australia's most high-profile foodies. And having just celebrated her 21st birthday, this blonde bombshell looks to be following in her father's hospitality footsteps. She is the first child of the celebrity gourmand's third marriage, which has been going strong for 22 years. She, along with her sisters, is also heavily involved in her dad's flagship Sydney eatery. Can you guess who this ' nepo baby ' is? From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It's Macy Perry, the daughter of famed restaurateur Neil Perry. Neil took to Instagram this week to wish his daughter a very happy 21st birthday. He shared a photo of his daughter beaming as she posed amid a tranquil mountain-capped scene. Wearing a low-cut polka dot dress, Macy looked as though she was about to step onto a runway rather than into a kitchen. It seems Macy is keen to follow Neil into the world of hospitality – she is currently working as a part-time hostess in Neil's flagship Double Bay restaurant Margaret. Captioning the image, Neil paid a sweet tribute to his daughter, praising her work ethic and her relationship with partner Jake Lewis. 'I'm so proud of you studying and working so hard @margaretdoublebay always finding time to look after your friends and Jake while juggling a busy schedule,' he gushed. 'You put your heart into everything. We are very blessed to have The Mace in our lives. Love you.' Macy returned the sentiment with a simple: 'Love you, thank you.' Neil's post was met with many happy returns from friends and followers. 'So beautiful.. good work daddy,' one offered, echoing the sentiment of many. Neil shares three daughters – Josephine, 24, with second wife Adele Seagar, as well as Macy, 21, and Indi, 19, with his third wife of 21 years, Samantha. The sweet post comes after Neil called last drinks at his luxe Double Bay cocktail bar Bobbie's, just under 12 months after opening it. The stylish basement bar in Sydney's eastern suburbs is tucked beneath his popular Cantonese restaurant Song Bird inside Gaden House. The team from the swanky jazz bar broke the news of the sudden closure on May 29 - leaving customers devastated. 'Last drinks at Bobbie's. Tonight we raise a glass one final time - to the memories, the music, the cocktails, the team and the incredible guests who made Bobbie's so special,' a Bobbie's spokesperson said on social media. Neil revealed the decision was made jointly as his business partner shifts focus to his booming business overseas. 'Linden's US-based hospitality group, Dante, is expanding rapidly, with multiple new venues planned across America in the next 18 months,' the top chef said in a statement, according to Hospitality Magazine. 'Our landlords are in discussions with prospective operators interested in taking over the space.' While the bar's closure sparked speculation about the future of Song Bird upstairs, Neil was quick to quash rumours that his multi-level Cantonese restaurant was also shutting up shop. 'Song Bird is absolutely not closing,' he told Hospitality Magazine, clarifying that recent reports in the Australian Financial Review referred to a strategic review of the restaurant's footprint – not its demise. Instead, he revealed plans to scale back from four floors to three, with the top level - originally set to house an event space and a la carte dining - now being handed over to become private offices.

Model mum Madeline Holtznagel runs errands with her newborn baby for the first time after welcoming son with Justin Hemmes

Madeline Holtznagel looked every inch the doting new mum on Thursday as she was spotted running errands with her precious new bub in Sydney. The model, 28, and her billionaire beau Justin Hemmes, 52, welcomed their first child, Jaegar Justin on June 1. Madeline cut a stylish figure on the windswept streets of Double Bay, as the new mum donned a slick streetwear set and matching sneakers for the outing. The bubbly blonde was seen hitting the shops with her bundle of joy rugged up in a designer Silver Cross stroller (which can retail for between $500 and $3000). Going casual for the afternoon stroll, Madeline wore a plain white hooded sweatshirt and a pair of matching pants. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Madeline swept her blonde locks back into a high ponytail and completed her chic ensemble with a pair of black Chanel sunglasses. Her trim and toned pins were on full display, and she finished off her look with a pair of two-toned sneakers. The younger sister of model Simone Holtznagel went solo for the outing and cuddled her sleeping newborn close to her chest. She kept her accessories to a minimum, selecting a simple pair of gold hoop earrings and an oversized black leather Miu Miu bag to tote around her things. The newborn heir to hospitality magnate Justin's vast hospitality fortune looked very cozy as he nestled into Madeleine's jumper hood. Jaegar sported a light grey sweatshirt and a sleepy smile as he hit the streets of the well-heeled eastern suburbs for the very first time. This marks his first public outing since the new family arrived home from the hospital via seaplane at Justin's $100million Vaucluse mansion on Tuesday. It comes after Madeline announced Jaeger's arrival in a sweet Instagram post last week. 'Jaeger Justin Hemmes 1.06.25,' she captioned the post. This is the model's first child with the billionaire Merivale owner. He shares two daughters - Alexa, nine, and Saachi, seven - with his ex-partner Kate Fowler. The sweet photo dump included an array of snaps showing the couple's newborn baby wrapped up in a blanket. One picture showed the new mum proudly holding her first child as she donned a matching pink pyjamas set. She was positively glowing as she beamed at the camera while her precious newborn wore a smile on his face. Another picture showed Justin and Madeline looking windswept and content as they enjoyed a beach walk with their little one. One adorable snap showed Justin leaning down to kiss baby Jaeger, who was tucked into his jumper to keep warm during the windy outing. Friends and family flooded the comments section with well wishes for the couple and their new bundle of joy. 'I love him,' Madeline's sister Simone Holtznagel simply wrote. Madeline recently announced the sex of their baby in an interview with Stellar magazine, and said she was thrilled because she wanted a 'new journey' with Justin. 'I always thought I was going to have a boy. I knew I was going to be a boy mum,' she said. 'Justin has two beautiful little girls, so having a boy, it's like a whole new journey together. '[The baby] is going to be his little best mate.' She said she previously kept details of her pregnancy private, but was ready to share her journey. 'I keep a lot of my life private and I don't share a lot online anyway, so [being pregnant] wasn't really something that I was going to share online,' she said. In November, an insider confirmed the exciting news of Madeline's pregnancy to Daily Mail Australia. They revealed a friend of Justin's recently moved out of his Vaucluse mansion to make room for their growing family. The business mogul, who has a net worth of $1.39billion, began dating Madeline in 2019 when she was 22 and he was 47, after his split from Fowler in 2018. Madeline is the younger sister of Simone, who .

They once ruled reality TV with their explosive love stories and fiery dinner party showdowns. But on Saturday night, Married At First Sight brides Alyssa Barmonde and Olivia Frazer were turning heads for a very different reason. The duo made a rare joint appearance at Pelicano in Sydney 's Double Bay, stepping out for a glitzy Studio 54-themed soirée that drew a who's who of the reality television scene. Alyssa, 37, sizzled in a sparkling white mini-dress with long sleeves and a plunging neckline, blowing kisses to cameras as she posed alongside Olivia. Her brunette tresses were styled in loose waves, and she finished off the look with a glossy nude lip and glowing tan. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Standing beside her, Olivia, 31, showed off her curves in a blush pink off-the-shoulder mini with ruched detailing and dramatic side ties. The OnlyFans star and podcast host wore her blonde bob tousled and fresh, letting her radiant complexion take centre stage. The former brides smiled for photographers as they reunited for the Studio 54 bash, hosted by Belvedere Vodka and Pelicano, where sequin frocks, disco balls and retro beats set the scene. Also spotted at the Z-list party were fellow MAFS grooms Tony Mojanovski and Ryan Donnelly, as well as FBOY Island's Joey Robson and Love Island Australia hunk Aidan Knox. Nineties 'It Girl' Tali Jatali turned heads in a daring leopard-print bodysuit featuring a plunging neckline with low cut detailing that left little to the imagination. She teamed the look with a baby-blue micro miniskirt and slouchy white knee-high boots, channelling vintage glam with a cheeky twist. Oversized hoop earrings, sleek sunglasses and her signature long brunette locks completed the Studio 54-inspired ensemble. Elsewhere, MAFS brides Lauren Dunn and Veronica Cloherty were seen mingling in the VIP section. Rounding out the guest list was Dean Wells, who attended with his glamorous fiancée Aimee Woolley, both dressed to impress in throwback-inspired looks that fit the Studio 54 theme to a tee. Dean opted for a layered look featuring a blush pink cardigan worn over a black tee, paired with white jeans and matching loafers for a laid-back yet cheeky disco vibe. Aimee turned up the sparkle in a teal velvet halter jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and gold chain belt. She finished her look with matching heels and soft waves for a true disco diva moment.
