Patriots QB Drake Maye and groomsmen turn heads in epic wedding photo

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye turned heads with an epic wedding photo. The second-year signal-caller got married over the weekend to his fiancée, Ann Hudson. It was a beautiful ceremony with the couple tying the knot less than a month before Maye is scheduled to report back to Foxborough for training camp. In less than a year, Maye has gotten hitched, played in his first Pro Bowl game and paired with a new head coach. He recently went viral for posing with 10 groomsmen to create a legitimate 11-man offensive unit. It was a fun picture that had fans talking on social media. Maye is getting his fill of celebrations before business picks back up in the summer. The Patriots will enter their intense preparation for the 2025 season at training camp, starting on July 23. For Maye, the expectations will weigh heavier than ever before. Whether he lives up to them or not remains to be seen. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.

Patriots Exec Says ‘Everybody's Going to Do Their Part' Regarding Drake Maye's Development

Patriots Exec Says 'Everybody's Going to Do Their Part' Regarding Drake Maye's Development originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New England Patriots are making it clear that Drake Maye is not being asked to single-handedly return the franchise to its former glory. The Patriots have gone to work building a much-improved roster around their second-year quarterback. Advertisement According to Bernd Buchmasser of Pats Pulpit, Patriots senior personnel executive Alonzo Highsmith emphasized realistic expectations during an interview with Fanatics Sports. "I don't think anyone's expecting Drake Maye to put this franchise on his back,' Highsmith said. 'Everybody's going to do their part to help Drake Maye.' That organizational philosophy has been clear all offseason. New England bolstered the offensive line by drafting left tackle Will Campbell and adding veteran right tackle Morgan Moses to protect Maye. That does not even include key players like Milton Williams or Carlton Davis III on defense who should take some burden off the offense. Advertisement 'He's a young guy, still developing. And it's our job — everyone's job; teammates, everybody around him — to help him," Highsmith said. "He doesn't have to do it alone... We're building a team that can grow with him.' The Patriots were not emphasizing this strategy as clearly last year under Jerod Mayo. It is possible first-year Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel understands that having a new and explicit message like this could pay dividends to the development of his team and his franchise quarterback. Drake Maye Comparison Puts Patriots QB Alongside Massive Giants Bust

Drake Maye Comparison Puts Patriots QB Alongside Massive Giants Bust originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New England Patriots are excited about the quarterback they drafted No. 3 overall in 2024, but some potential outcomes for Drake Maye and the comparisons that accompany them suggest more expectational caution may be needed. Advertisement John Kosko of Pro Football Focus authored a story on Thursday exploring the ceilings and floors for all second-year quarterbacks in the NFL heading into the 2025 season. In his section on Maye, Kosko described the New England QB's best-case comparison as Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars, which some may think is concerning given Lawrence hasn't met expectations since joining the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick in 2021. However, Kosko set the bar considerably lower when characterizing Maye's floor with a comparison to former New York Giants No. 6 overall pick Daniel Jones. Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daniel Jones.© Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images "While flashing some of his athleticism and playmaking abilities, Maye wasn't able to showcase his big arm consistently," Kosko wrote. "He notched just 14 big-time throws and 16 turnover-worthy plays, making his rookie season similar to Daniel Jones' in their PFF grades and efficiency. Maye posted a 64.9 PFF passing grade and Jones logged a 65.1 mark, while Maye averaged 6.7 yards per pass attempt and Jones averaged 6.6. "Obviously, Jones struggled to generate big-time throws over the past four years with the Giants. I don't anticipate that being an issue for Maye, but Jones had a better big-time throw rate as a rookie. Maye's athleticism and big arm give him a high-end ceiling like that of Trevor Lawrence, who I think has better play in his future." New York cut Jones halfway into the 2024 campaign, sacrificing tens of millions of dollars just to get rid of him. Jones finished his Giants' tenure with a record of 24-44-1 in the regular season and 1-1 in the postseason, which included just one playoff appearance. Advertisement Jones threw for 14,582 yards, 70 touchdowns and 47 interceptions during his time in New York, while rushing the football for 2,179 yards and 15 more scores. Jones caught on with the Vikings after his release from the Giants last year, though he never played a snap in Minnesota. He inked a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts this offseason and is reportedly leading an injured Anthony Richardson (shoulder) in a preseason battle for the starting QB job in Week 1. Patriots owner Robert Kraft says last two seasons were 'the worst years of my 31 years of ownership'

The New England Patriots haven't had many poor seasons since Robert Kraft bought the team in 1994. The team has made 22 playoff appearances in his 31 years as an owner, winning six Super Bowls. That's a pretty incredible rate of success. But things have fallen off since Tom Brady's departure. And while the Patriots hung around .500 in the seasons just after his exit, things have really declined the past two seasons. The Patriots finished 4-13 in each of those seasons and found themselves at the bottom of the AFC East. Advertisement That stretch has been particularly hard for Kraft, who called it the "worst years" of his 31 years of ownership. While 2023 and 2024 were difficult, Kraft believes the team is on its way up in 2025. He spoke positively about the addition of new head coach Mike Vrabel and second-year quarterback Drake Maye, telling fans, "We're going to have fun this year, I promise." Things should be better moving forward. Vrabel is an established head coach with a track record of success in the NFL. He should, at the very least, bring stability to the team after it struggled under first-year coach Jarod Mayo last season. Advertisement Maye is far from a finished product, but showed flashes of excellence as a rookie. He finished his first year in the NFL with 15 touchdowns against 10 interceptions, completing 66.6 percent of his passes. He'll look to show improvement in Year 2, and the addition of Stefon Diggs should help with that. Despite those improvements, the Patriots still face low expectations entering this season. The team ranks 25th in Yahoo Sports' NFL offseason power rankings, though did receive an "A" grade for its offseason. With Maye and Vrabel, there's a scenario where the Patriots show a ton of improvement in 2025. While taking the division back from the Buffalo Bills could take some time, getting back to .500 would be a massive accomplishment for the Patriots. After two straight down years, that actually seems like a possibility again.
