'The Price is Right' contestant wins new car after crashing own vehicle

After a game show contestant on "The Price Is Right" announced she had lost her car in a crash, she walked away with a brand-new ride. During a recent episode of the beloved game show, player Antoinette was seen jumping ecstatically when she was called onto the stage. She yelled in excitement and gave audience members high-fives before she met host Drew Carey, 67, on stage. Antoinette wore a purple shirt, glasses and a pink sash that read "Birthday Princess." After Carey shared a birthday greeting with the contestant, it was announced that she had the chance to win a new car – a red 2025 Hyundai Elantra SE. Once Antoinette saw the car, she appeared shocked and revealed that she had recently been in a car accident. "I was just in a car accident," Antoinette said to Carey. "My car was just totaled." Carey replied, "Well, let's win this for you." For a chance to win the new vehicle, Anotinette played a challenging game called "Pocket Change." Antoinette was given the first digit of the car's price — a two — and then had to correctly guess the remaining four numbers one at a time. The car's price began at 25 cents, but with each incorrect guess, the price increased by another 25 cents. For every correct guess, "The Price is Right" contestant picked an envelope from the wall which had a hidden amount of money. To win the car, the total from the envelopes had to match or exceed the final price of the car. Antoinette first guessed the number four, as she looked at the screaming audience for help. The buzzer was heard since that number was incorrect and the price of the car increased to 50 cents. She then correctly guessed the number, three, then picked an envelope off the wall. Antoinette chose the numbers, 7, (which was correct) and then 4, 5 -- which were incorrect, and the price of the car increased to $1.00. After adding on the last number, 1, the game board read, $2,371. While "The Price is Right" player guessed the 4 for the last number, the buzzer rang since it was incorrect – raising the price of the car to $1.25. LIKE WHAT YOU'RE READING? Her total added up to $1.65, which exceeded the $1.25 price tag on the car to Antoinette, resulting in her winning the vehicle. "The Price is Right" host told the player, "Go get your new car."Antoinette jumped for joy and ran around the game show stage, as she yelled, "I won! I won! Thank you, Jesus!"

The Price Is Right host Drew Carey makes shocking claim about the show

Drew Carey has had a great career in stand up, television and as host of The Price is Right. One of the secrets to his success is unusual as he revealed before the release of the 30th anniversary edition DVD set of The Drew Carey Show. 'Not a lot of my fans know [that] I don't like watching myself on TV. I have a real hard time,' Drew, 67, told Parade. 'I've sat in the editing room a few times on The Drew Carey Show, and I had to leave. 'I don't do it that often because every time I saw it, I was like, "That's what I look like? And that's [how] I walk?" I get so tired of seeing myself,' he said. He went on to note that one of the producers had some suggestions for his performance on the long running game show. 'I was like, "Oh my God." He was like, "I know, I apologize." And he really had to twist my arm to make me watch myself, even on The Price Is Right,' he continued. 'So I've always been like this. I don't watch The Price Is Right. I don't watch The Drew Carey Show. 'Once in a while, I'll put it on [to] just like see a minute of it, or Whose Line [Is It Anyway?].' Earlier this week, Drew was spotted having a good time at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Nevada. Drew had his arms his arms around a mystery blonde as they beamed and took photographs together surrounded by revelers in the wee hours. 'Many people were shocked to see Drew in the crowd, especially considering his age, but he was the life and soul of the event,' the US Sun reported. 'He seemed to be having the best time, dancing and laughing with a group of friends all night. 'Plenty of women were going up to him and flirting, he appeared to enjoy the attention and was very friendly.' He was also seen last month with OnlyFans creator Niki Skyler in West Hollywood, California. The lunch excursion came just two months after Drew shared that he is still not dating after his former fiancée Amie Harwick was murdered in 2020 by ex-boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse. Pursehouse had pled not guilty but in 2023 he was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Carey and Harwick became engaged in 2018 but called it quits later that same year. During an interview with Us Weekly in February, the TV personality got candid about her tragic death and admitted to the outlet, 'It destroyed me for a while. I still don't date. 'I have women I go out with and spend time with, but it's all platonic, and I don't care about anything else. Amie's death really affected everything.' He also expressed, 'I think about her every day. It's such a loss. Her death still affects me and my ideas about relationships and intimacy. 'It was all damaged by first our breakup, and then, the day before she died, when she texted me. It had been a really bad breakup for both of us, but a necessary one. I couldn't think about her or see a picture of her.' The day before her passing, Carey recalled receiving a message from Amie who brought up the topic of forgiveness and asked to meet up. 'I texted her that I loved her and that I'd see her the next week,' the TV host said. 'I heard from one of her friends that she shed tears about my saying that I loved her still. Which I did. I loved her madly even though we had broken up.' When her murderer was sentenced to life in prison, Carey opened up to People about finally having closure. 'I can barely remember the guy's name — that's how much I've put him out of my life — but ever since the final sentencing, it feels like we've all let out a breath and are able to finally move on.' He continued, 'The whole process is over now, and there's nothing else to be done and nothing else to worry about. … Just speaking just for myself, it's been quite a load off.' Drew also shared that following her passing, he still has photos of Harwick inside of his house. 'She's with me always. A lot of times I'll feel like I'll be thinking things through, and it's almost like I can hear her voice saying, "Well, really, it's because of this and that." It's really nice, honestly.'

Carey's remarks offer a rare glimpse into the personal experiences behind one of the most familiar faces in American television. As The Drew Carey Show prepares for its 30th anniversary release, and The Price Is Right continues its decades-long run, the host's candidness has only deepened the appreciation of audiences for his enduring contributions to television. 'The Price Is Right' contestants were off by thousands when guessing the cost of Apple's Vision Pro

How much does a virtual reality headset from Apple cost? Don't ask a group of recent contestants on "The Price is Right at Night," a prime-time edition of the popular game show. The Vision Pro is one of the most expensive products that Apple offers. But when the contestants were tasked with guessing its retail value, their estimates were more in the range with what an iPhone costs. With the show's rule of guessing as closely as possible without going over the correct price, contestants tend to be strategic with their answers to avoid overshooting. These players' answers of $1,000, $750, $1,001, and — the closest — $1,270 were off the mark by thousands. A 256-gigabyte Apple Vision Pro retails for $3,499, host Drew Carey told the audience, eliciting a collective gasp. A clip of the moment was posted to Threads on Wednesday. Marques Brownlee, an Apple reviewer known online as MKBHD, replied, "LOL" to the far-out guesses. Though they fell short from the Vision Pro, the contestants were closer to the prices of competing headsets. The 512-gigabyte Meta Quest 3, for example, retails for $499. Apple is reportedly exploring ways to bring down the cost of its own product with a cheaper, lighter iteration, but the company has yet to confirm that a new headset is in the works. The Vision Pro's hefty price has prompted strong reactions since its announcement. The crowd at Apple's 2023 Worldwide Developer Conference let out groans, sighs, and boos when they found out it would start at $3,499. The company began scaling back its production in 2024, The Information reported in October. Apple CEO Tim Cook told The Wall Street Journal in October that the headset is for "people who want to have tomorrow's technology today." "At $3,500, it's not a mass-market product," Cook said. "Right now, it's an early-adopter product."
