Driver injured after crashing into 2 Springfield homes
SPRINGFIELD – A driver was injured after crashing into two houses Saturday night. The driver was able to exit the vehicle after the crash. He was brought to the hospital by ambulance with injuries that are not life threatening, Fire Department Capt. Drew Piemonte said. The crash took place just before 11:30 p.m. The driver struck a home at 283 Eastern Ave. and continued on, hitting the house next door, Piemonte said. He struck the porches of the three-story and the two-story homes. The owners of the houses were able to secure them so residents could remain there until repairs can be made, Piemonte said. Springfield police have taken over the scene and are investigating the crash, Piemonte said. Unattended candle causes fire on Pheland Street in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield crews were called to a reported structure fire on Pheland Street Wednesday afternoon. Eleven people without home after fire on Dawes Street in Springfield According to Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte, crews arrived at 86 Pheland Street for a reported structure fire just before 3:00 p.m. Arriving firefighters discovered a fire in a second-floor bedroom. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported. The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad determined the cause of the fire to be an unattended candle left in the room. Fire officials are reminding residents to never leave candles unattended and to be cautious with open flames in the home. One injured in rollover crash on Dwight Road in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A rollover crash on Dwight Road in Springfield Wednesday night left one person seriously injured. Holyoke police arrest 15-year-old, seize large capacity firearm A vehicle and pole were badly damaged in a car accident on Dwight Road, according to Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte. One person was removed from the vehicle by emergency crews and was taken to a local hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
