2025 British Grand Prix predictions & F1 betting tips
Lando Norris to win - 7/4 William Hill Lewis Hamilton to finish on the podium - 11/4 BetVictor After winning in Austria last weekend, Lando Norris has his sights set on victory in his home race at Silverstone as the battle for the Formula 1 Drivers' Championship heats up. The Brit closed the gap on his McLaren teammate and world championship leader, Oscar Piastri, to just 15 points with his third win of the season so far at the Red Bull Ring. Betting sites reacted to Norris's win by trimming his F1 odds to win the Drivers' title and he's among the favourites to take rthe chequered flag on Sunday. Fellow Brits George Russell and Lewis Hamilton would also love a victory on home turf, but it's tough to imagine Hamilton repeating his emotional 2024 victory at Silverstyone, his first win at the track in three years. Since moving to Ferrari, things haven't quite gone according to plan, with the seven-time champion picking up just 91 points and so far failing to finish on the podium. His former Mercedes teammate is doing a bit better, though, with a win in Canada and podium finishes in Miami, Bahrain, China and Australia. He doesn't have the best of records at Silverstone, though with two retirements in his last three visits. Piastri will also be desperate to taste victory again to reaffirm his place at the top of the Drivers' Championship with a sixth win of the season. F1 betting sites are all backing Norris for the win at 7/4, just ahead of Piastri at 9/5 and Verstappen at 5/1. Reigning champion Verstappen didn't finish in Austria last weekend, bringing an end to a 31-race points streak. His last retirement before then was also on the first lap, at Silverstone in 2021, when he was also hit by a Mercedes. Verstappen is already 61 points behind Piastri at the top of the Drivers' Championship and has been on the podium at five of the first 11 races this year. He has history at Silverstone, winning in 2023, ahead of Norris and Hamilton, but that's his sole victory at the Northamptoshire track. It's hard to see past the McLaren's winning again, and Norris has shown with back-to-back podium finishes at this track in the last two years that he has the measure of Silverstone. British Grand Prix prediction 1: Lando Norris to win - 7/4 William Hill Things are definitely looking up for Ferrari with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finishing third and fourth, respectively, in Austria. They are expected to have another rear suspension upgrade for the Belgian Grand Prix, at the end of the month, but they should have some confidence going into this weekend's race. Hamilton is starting to appear more confident and comfortable with his car, which we know has the pace because his teammate has managed four podium finishes, including second place in Monaco. He has won eight of the last 11 British Grand Prix's though, so if he is going to turn his season around, this could be the race to do it. British Grand Prix prediction 2: Lewis Hamilton to finish on the podium - 11/4 BetVictor Bettors should always practice responsible gambling. Austrian Grand Prix prediction & F1 betting tips: Bounce-back performance from Norris
F1 is back in Europe this weekend, with the first race of this stretch taking place in Austria, through the picturesque Styrian mountains. Oscar Piastri goes into the race with 22-point lead in the Drivers' Championship over his McLaren team-mate Lando Norris and 43 ahead of current world champion Max Verstappen. Verstappen has a great record at Red Bull's home race, winning five times at the Red Bull Ring, but some betting sites price him at 7/2 to add to his tally as they anticipate a weekend dominated by McLaren. Round 10 was one to forget for Norris, whose mistake during the closing stage of the race in Canada left him admitting he had 'made a fool' of himself. With the McLarens travelling in fourth and fifth with three laps to go, Norris collided with his team mate, and although Piastri was able to continue without any damage, Norris broke his suspension, costing him 10 precious championship points. After finishing second to Verstappen in the 2024 Drivers' Championship, Norris is once more in danger of having to the bridesmaid once more behind the more consistent Piastri, who is odds-on for the title on betting apps. Norris has has finished second in three of his last five races, twice to Piastri and once to Verstappen. The 25-year-old also won in Monaco, which was his second victory of the season and first since the season opener in Australia. F1 betting sites are offering 9/4 on him winning in Spielberg, just behind his McLaren teammate, who is the favourite at 13/8. The Red Bull Ring is a tracxk Norris knows well having achieved his first ever podium finish in Austria back in 2020, finishing third behind Valtteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc, while the Brit also clocked the fastest lap time that day. He also finished third the following season, behind the winner Verstappen and second placed Bottas and may be capable of delivering the perfect response to his Canada accident. Austrian Grand Prix prediction 1: - Lando Norris to win 9/4 Unibet Austria Grand Prix tips: Russell looking for an Austria repeat Mercedes driver George Russell was victorious last time out at the Canadian Grand Prix, taking the chequered flag ahead of Verstappen and Kimi Antonelli after a controlled drive. The Brit is another driver who has happy memories of this tracck having won last year's race in Austria when he took advantage of Verstappen and Norris colliding while contesting the lead. Betting sites are offering 8/1 on him winning at the Red Bull Ring, or you can get F1 odds of 11/8 on him finishing on the podium for the sixth time this season. Christian Horner reveals how F1 team bosses have changed
Christian Horner, Red Bull 's F1 boss, is the longest-serving team principal in the paddock, having been with the team for 20 years since its formation in 2005. Horner believes that current F1 team principals sometimes "lack respect" compared to past bosses, attributing this to a shift from entrepreneurial spirit to a more managerial approach. He noted that while rivalries always existed among previous team principals, there was a common understanding of what was right for the sport. Horner addressed his reputation as a "pantomime villain," stating that winning often makes one unpopular in the business. Under Horner's leadership, Red Bull has secured eight drivers' world championships, though Max Verstappen currently trails championship leader Oscar Piastri in the 2025 season. Christian Horner believes 'respect is lacking' from current crop of F1 team bosses

Canadian Grand Prix Prediction & F1 Betting Tips: McLaren Title Battle Heads to Montreal
An intriguing F1 season continues this weekend as the European leg of the campaign is paused and the drivers head to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix. Oscar Piastri grabbed his fifth win of the season in Barcelona a fortnight ago to extend his lead at the top of the Drivers' Championship, with the young Australian now 10 points ahead of his McLaren teammate Lando Norris. Norris, who finished second in Spain, is still in the title fight but will need to capitalise on recent good performances if he is going to make up ground on his teammate, and this weekend is the perfect time to start. Further back, reigning champion Max Verstappen sits 49 points behind Piastri having so far found it tough to keep the pace with the McLaren drivers. His cause wasn't helped by a 10-second penalty in Barcelona that dropped him to 10th place in Catalonia. And while it looks like a two-way tussle for the title in 2025 – betting sites price Piastri at 13/20 and Norris at 2/1 in the F1 drivers title market – there's plenty of room for a shock at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve this weekend. Nevertheless, it's the McLaren duo who are the two race favourites in Canada once again, with the Australian at 5/4 versus 7/4 for Norris. Canadian Grand Prix Betting Preview With each passing race it becomes increasingly clear – if it wasn't already obvious – that the battle for the Drivers' Championship is a two-way one – between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Norris was among the clear favourites for the title before the season started but it is Piastri who is slowly emerging as the team's lead driver, with the 24-year-old taking advantage of McLaren's early dominance to stake his own claim to the world championship. The pair are the two favourites ahead of pretty much every race at this point in the year, and though Piastri tops the market for this race and the title as it stands, there's plenty of time left for Norris to correct some of the early mistakes that have seen him fall 10 points adrift. With the weather set to remain clear but cool in Montreal and McLaren having performed well at similar street circuits, such as Jeddah and Miami, this race is one that plays to the strengths of two drivers who have finished both finished on the podium seven times in nine races in 2025. Add to that the simple fact that nobody can match McLaren's pace on their best day, then it looks like yet another battle in the top two for the McLaren pair this weekend, barring any surprises. And to that end, we think another McLaren 1-2 finish could be the best bet for the Canadian Grand Prix. Canadian Grand Prix prediction One of the biggest surprises in Barcelona was the performance of Nico Hulkenberg in the upgraded Sauber, with the German taking fifth place and 10 points with a brilliant display. He was 16/1 in the F1 odds to finish in the top 10 ahead of that race when we tipped him to do just that in our Spanish Grand Prix predictions, but bookmakers aren't offering anywhere near those kind of prices this time around. That major car update surprised many a fortnight ago but the real test is whether or not it has the staying power to challenge for the points positions regularly. But Hulkenberg is no stranger to a good performance in Canada – having qualified on the front row in 2023 only for a grid penalty to knock him back. With that in mind, we're backing the 37-year-old to build on last week's performance, with a wager on him to finish in the points available at 4/1 on various F1 betting sites. Responsible Gambling When having a bet, it's vital to practice responsible gambling. When using gambling sites be aware that sports betting can be addictive. Max Verstappen will quit F1 THIS YEAR, claims former Red Bull mechanic with Dutch driver chasing record held by Michael Schumacher
Max Verstappen will quit Formula One after winning a fifth consecutive Drivers championship title, a former Red Bull mechanic has claimed. Verstappen is looking to match Michael Schumacher 's record of a fifth title in a row, though he faces an uphill task trying to make up the ground to McLaren duo Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Despite holding on to beat Norris to the crown last year, Piastri has been the quickest on the grid for much of the 2025 season, and leads the standings by 10 points from his team-mate, and is 49 clear of Verstappen Verstappen is on a £60m annual retainer at Red Bull until 2028, though there are opt-out clauses, and has told the team he wants to stay at least for next year. However incoming regulation changes mean he may wait to see how Red Bull adapts before making a decision on his future. Mail Sport has previously reported he could potentially move in 2027, with Mercedes and Aston Martin possible refuges, but sources close to Verstappen indicate that if the 27-year-old were to jump ship he would only do so once in his career. However, he has now been backed to fight back and snatch the championship this year by a former member of the Red Bull pit crew - before quitting the sport entirely. Former Red Bull mechanic Calum Nicholas was asked on Lucas Stewart's YouTube channel how many titles Verstappen would win, when he responded: 'Five. I think Max is going to win the Drivers' this year, and then I think he's going to call it a day.' Nicolas insisted, however, that he did not have any information about the Dutch driver's plans for the rest of his career. Verstappen lost even more ground in his latest outing, after dropping from P5 to P10 following a penalty for ramming his car into Mercedes' George Russell's car at the Spanish Grand Prix, and now trails Piastri by 49 points. But Nicholas remained adamant that the Red Bull star should always remain the favourite despite what the standings say. 'To not back Max is just like lunacy, I think. The guy is just really really good. 'Not in terms of just his technical skill and his talent, but I've watched Max grow into this guy that can do everything. 'He does everything well now.' Verstappen became a father for the first time earlier this season, as he and girlfriend Kelly Piquet welcomed Lily into the world in May. The F1 star announced the birth alongside an Instagram post, writing: 'Welcome to the world, sweet Lily. Our hearts are fuller than ever - you are our greatest gift. We love you so much.' While Lily is Max's first child, model Piquet, 36, already has a daughter, Penelope, born in 2019, from her previous relationship with Formula One driver Daniil Kvyat, 30. Verstappen will join Nico Hulkenberg as the only drivers with children on the F1 grid. Asked if he had any advice for Verstappen as a new parent, the Kick Sauber driver responded: 'I hope it's a good sleeper.' Meanwhile, his rivals banished any suggestions that he will be any less competitive following his daughter's birth. Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton said: 'I just wish him all the best. It's such an amazing, special thing. I spoke to him briefly in Saudi and saw how excited he was. Big congrats to him.'
