Man in court over attempt to murder police officer with car
A 26-year-old man has appeared in court over the attempted murder of a police officer who was hit by a car in McGroary, of Dumfries, made no plea and was remanded in custody.A Subaru Forester was driven at the officer after police were called to assist a member of the public in Herries Avenue at about 01:20 on McGroary appeared on petition at Dumfries Sheriff Court on eight charges including attempted murder. Detectives are seeking a driver who hit a police officer with a car in an attempted murder in were called to assist a member of the public in Herries Avenue just after midnight, where a silver Subaru Forester was deliberately driven at an was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, where he in a stable car was abandoned near Catherinefield Road. Manhunt launched after attempted murder of police officer in Scottish town
A manhunt is underway after an attempted murder of a police officer in Dumfries on Monday morning. Officers were called to Herries Avenue in Dumfries around 12.10am on Monday, July 28 to assist a member of the public. More than an hour later, at around 1.20am, a silver Subaru Forester car was deliberatelyd riven at a male officer who attended the scene. He was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where he remains in a stable condition. Police are now searching for the driver of the car, which was later found abandoned near Catherine Field Road. The driver is described as a male, of slim to medium build with dark hair that was cut short at the sides.
