15 Scotland stars linked with transfer moves this summer - including £25m-rated ace and in-demand midfielder
Last summer's transfer window was one of the most hectic in history as far as Scotland was concerned. Big-money moves to Napoli for Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour may have taken the headlines on deadline day 2024, but there was no less than 16 Scotland internationals that changed clubs last year, as the transfer window went into overdrive. After the success of McTominay and Co, perhaps it is no surprise that 12 months on several Scottish stars continue to be in demand across Europe. Up to 15 internationals are currently linked with a summer transfer - and many of them courting megabucks money in the process. Here are the 15 Scotland internationals who could move clubs this summer, according to the latest round of summer rumours: 1 . Grant Hanley - Free agent The Dumfries-born defender left Norwich City to join Birmingham City in January after a number of years as captain at Carrow Road, but found game-time limited at St. Andrews and was released this summer. Linked with Blackpool, the Scotland international could bolster the Seagulls' defensive options for the 2025/26 campaign under manager Steve Bruce. | Getty Images Photo Sales 2 . Ryan Porteous - Watford Completely fallen out of favour at Watford, and spent the second-half of last season on loan at Preston North End, who opted not to make the move permanent. Linked to Rangers, Hibs, Hull City and clubs in the MLS, Porteous is expected to move this summer. | CameraSport - Stephen White Photo: CameraSport - Stephen White Photo Sales 3 . John McGinn - Aston Villa The Aston Villa captain is reportedly a key target for Everton boss David Moyes, despite the Midlands' clubs reluctance to sell him. Feels like an unlikely move, but never say never in the world of football. | Getty Images Photo Sales 4 . Max Johnston - Sturm Graz The Scotland youngster is a man in demand this summer, following two championship-winning seasons in the Austrian Bundesliga. Sturm Graz's asking price is said to be around the €3million mark, leading to rumoured interest from Southampton, Rangers, Napoli, Sunderland and clubs in Germany and France. | AFP via Getty Images Photo Sales

The 24-year-old joins the Scotstoun outfit on a two-year contract after a single season in French rugby where he made 25 appearances across all competitions, including 12 starts in the Top 14. Lancaster is the third new Warriors signing ahead of the new season following Alex Craig and Charlie Savala – along with academy graduates Jare Oguntibeju and Duncan Munn. 'It all happened pretty quickly, to be honest,' Lancaster told the Glasgow website. 'I found out I wasn't being kept on by Racing, and one evening shortly after that I got a call from Franco about potentially coming to Glasgow. After that call, I phoned my agent and told them that Scotstoun was where I wanted to go. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'I played against Glasgow for Racing last year, so I saw first-hand the intensity that the club brings with and without the ball – they're a proper team. I've heard so may great things about the club and about Franco and the coaching team, and Lucio [Sordoni] told me how special a place it is, so it feels like the best possible place for me to develop as a rugby player. 'I know a few of the lads from playing together at Scotland U18 – I played with Jamie [Dobie] and Ollie [Smith], and Rory [Darge] was our captain as well. It's been brilliant to see those lads go on and do incredible things for Glasgow and for Scotland, and hopefully I can follow their lead, push on and develop towards that level. 'I just want to take it as it comes – every player obviously wants to push for international honours in the long-term, but first and foremost I want to settle in well at Scotstoun and get to know everyone. I want to get my head down, work hard, buy in to what this club is all about and challenge for game time in a Glasgow shirt, I'm not looking any further ahead than that." Dumfries and Galloway curlers to represent Team GB at 2026 Winter Olympics
Grant Hardie, Hammy McMillan, Bobby Lammie, Sophie Jackson and Fay Henderson will all be making the trip to Italy next year. Dumfries and Galloway curlers have been chosen to represent Team GB at the Winter Olympics. Kirkgunzeon's Grant Hardie and Stranraer duo Hammy McMillan and Bobby Lammie are part of Bruce Mouat's mens rink. And Dumfries Sophie Jackson is a member of Rebecca Morrison's women's team, with Dumfries' Fay Henderson travelling to Milano Cortina as alternate. The men's rink, which won their second world championship earlier this year, is looking to go one better than the 2022 games when they won silver. That year the women's rink, which was skipped by Eve Muirhead and included Dumfries-born Vicky Drummond, won gold. Due to retirements, the rink this time around will be feature Morrison, Jackson and Sophie Sinclair, with Jennifer Dodds surviving from the 2022 team. Muirhead, who is now Team GB Chef de Mission, said: 'Announcing the first athletes selected to Team GB for my first Games as Chef de Mission is an extremely proud moment. It is even more special for me that it is athletes from my sport of curling. 'Team Mouat have had an outstanding run of form this past year, becoming the first-ever rink to win four Grand Slam titles in one season, and I know they will be wanting to better the silver medal they won in Beijing. 'Team Morrison did a fantastic job to secure the quota place at the recent World Championships, and I have no doubt that the experience that Jen Dodds will bring to the team as our only returning Olympic Champion will be extremely valuable.' The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place between February 6 and 22 next year.

The superstar DJ, 41, branded producer Chicane a 'stupid b*****d' after the English musician claimed the Scot nicked a sample from 90s trance classic Offshore. And it's already being hailed as the new "song of the summer". With over 12 million Spotify streams in just days, the track has proven a massive hit with music fans. But the Dumfries-born star has been slammed by trance legend Nick Chicane, 54, real name Nicholas Bracegirdle, who claims the tune is a rip-off of his iconic 1997 anthem Offshore. The pair have been caught up in a social media spat after Chicane accused Harris of lifting the riff, sound, and arrangement from his Ibiza classic. Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the 90s producer shared a video with his 40,000 followers showing how the two tracks overlap. Chicane said: 'It's really hard to decipher when one comes in and one goes. That is because they are almost identical, which is a bit of a problem. "I am defending my copyright and my intellectual sort of property here, guys.' The post triggered a storm of reactions online, with some fans backing Chicane's claims and others dismissing them as overblown. Responding to one comment, Chicane even compared his original hit to the Mona Lisa, writing: 'If I painted the Mona Lisa last week and gave it a new name, I'm a bit f****d because I can't escape the fact the original Mona Lisa still exists. Calvin Harris's mother in law reveals awkward moment before they first met "This above all else is Calvin Harris's major problem.' But Calvin wasn't having any of it and hit back with a video post of his own in a bid to rubbish the claims. Hitting back in a scathing response, he dismissed the allegations as 'embarrassing' and labelled Chicane 'a stupid b*****d". In a video reply, Calvin mocked the claims while analysing the tracks, with a file named 'Offshore B******t". Laughing, he said: 'Come on to f. C*** thinks he invented a f*****g, what is going on?' He added: 'One – you didn't invent the guitar. Two – it's not the same. It's not the f*****g same.' Chicane later revealed that a copyright investigation into the music is underway. He wrote: 'Given the weight of people independently noticing this has triggered a copyright investigation. I hope this long-winded explanation helps.'
