Elle Duncan makes hilariously embarrassing Cooper Flagg-Ace Bailey blunder before 2025 NBA Draft
The post Elle Duncan makes hilariously embarrassing Cooper Flagg-Ace Bailey blunder before 2025 NBA Draft appeared first on ClutchPoints. The 2025 NBA Draft is officially here, and as the top prospects funneled into the Barclays Center for the big event, fans and pundits alike celebrated their final moments before becoming pros. Advertisement The red carpet was loaded with impressive fits, fans checked social media for the finals scoops before the big event, and ESPN wanted to showcase Cooper Flagg, a player destined to go first overall to the Dallas Mavericks, before he became a Pro. Unfortunately for anchor Ellen Duncan, that because a lot harder than one may think, with her production staff missing the memo on the assignment. 'Welcome back to SportsCenter. You're looking at Cooper Flagg and in just over an hour from now, that is not Cooper Flagg at all actually,' Duncan noted. 'That is quite famously Ace Bailey. There's Cooper Flagg.' Pretty rough stuff, right? Well, unfortunately for Duncan, it happened again, with the ESPN staff running another shoe-up video of the prospect that was certainly of Flagg… or was it Dylan Harper? Advertisement 'I was gonna say a lot of… No, that's not him either,' Duncan said. 'That's not Cooper Flagg either.' Widely considered two of the top five prospects in this year's class, it makes sense that Bailey and Harper would get plenty of play on ESPN before the big show, but someone is certainly going to get an earful for this faux pas, be that the production staff for using the wrong videos, or her producer running the teleprompter, as something was clearly lost in translation. In the end, does it really matter that ESPN showed the wrong person before the NBA Draft? Nope, Flagg and Harper both came off the board where they were expected to, while Harper missed out on going to the Philadelphia 76ers, much to his presumed chagrin. But to paraphrase the Phineas and Ferb meme, the mistake may not have happened a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Ayrshire Ryanair pilot retires in style after final flight at Prestwick
Airline pilot, Duncan Munro, aged 60, retired this week from the captain's chair after decades of faithful service to Ryanair. A high flyer who safely delivered countless numbers of air passengers to sun-kissed destinations in Spain and elsewhere has hung up his captain's hat. Airline pilot, Duncan Munro, aged 60, retired this week from the captain's chair after decades of faithful service to Ryanair. Duncan, from Alloway, has flown in and out of Prestwick Airport for more than 20 years, his most regular route being the run to Malaga and back. But on Thursday, June 26, he took charge of his final Boeing 737 flight back from Spain, as he prepares to settle into a more 'grounded' lifestyle. And Duncan got the perfect welcome back as he touched down on the Prestwick tarmac - a water canon salute from his ground colleagues. Proud dad Harry said: 'Duncan's last day at work was Thursday, June 26 and he landed from Malaga early afternoon. 'On June 20, 2001, the Ayrshire Post actually published an article about my son who had just been engaged as a pilot for Ryanair, operating from Prestwick Airport. 'He is now about to retire and his last flight was 26 June, landing at Prestwick. 'Duncan rose through the ranks of Ryanair to captain, training captain and base commander at both Glasgow and Edinburgh. He also had a spell with Norwegian Air flying transatlantic. 'He was also a simulator instructor at Gatwick. In addition, he maintains his RAF connection in Glasgow.' Former Belmont Academy pupil Duncan took his first steps on his fascinating career journey when he studied General Science at Strathclyde University in 1982. Duncan then joined the RAF, rising to officer in the RAF Regiment and taking his Masters Degree at Glasgow University. A career in computing then followed, which led him to London and Singapore - before he gained his commercial pilot's licence. Duncan eventually progressed to captain one of the Ryanair fleet - and he's been loving his job ever since. And in a pleasant surprise to Duncan, wife Jane and son Fergus, flew out to Malaga on Wednesday - so they could enjoy his last flight home from Spain the following day. Fergus said: 'It all went really well. I gave him a call before we got on the flight home and asked him if he'd welcome us on as VIP's! 'It was definitely an emotional day and I think it only hit him when we landed and he was carrying out his final shutdown. Then he realised it was all over.' Duncan's life in aviation isn't quite over however; he's going to be the Deputy Chief Flying Instructor at Acron, based at Gatwick, where he'll put the next generation of airline pilots through their paces in their state-of-the-art flight simulators. Duncan's career timeline * Hired by Ryanair in 2001, initially based at Prestwick * Promoted to Captain in 2002 and based in Stansted, then moved to be based back at Prestwick after 6 months * Logged approximately 14,000 hours as Captain and 3,200 hours as First Officer (about 18,000 in total from start of career to the end) * Flew over 10,000 sectors * Became a Line Training Captain in summer 2004 * Qualified as a Type Rating Instructor in 2006 * Flew Air Experience Flights with Air Cadets from 2007 to 2022 as part of an Air Squadron * Appointed Base Captain at Edinburgh in November 2008 * Became Base Captain at Glasgow in December 2014 * Flew transatlantic routes for Norwegian in August 2017 * Returned to Ryanair as a line pilot in Edinburgh in February 2019 * Will become Deputy Chief Flying Instructor at L3Harris (Acron) in August 2025 * Intends to complete A320 and A330 type ratings * Retired after his final flight from Málaga to Prestwick, which was marked with a water cannon salute.

Duncan James bonds with mum at bingo
Duncan James bonded with his mum over bingo. The Blue singer recently enjoyed some quality time with Fiona Inglis in Feltham, West London, and not only did the pair have a great time in each other's company, but they even took home a cash prize. Speaking to mark National Bingo Week, Duncan said: "I loved visiting Buzz Bingo with my Mum recently, it was brilliant. There really is something for everyone there. It is one of those games that brings people together of all generations. "And luck was on our side – we even called 'bingo' with a win! It's definitely worth a visit – We had such a laugh over some great food and drinks — it was just a really good vibe. "And seeing everyone there, chatting and cheering each other on, you could tell bingo's more than just a game for a lot of people. It's a real community. ' Duncan's visit came as research from The Bingo Association found over half of Brits admitted they struggle to meaningfully connect with different generations, despite wanting to. A fifth of over 55s are concerned about seeming out of touch with younger people, while 9% of those aged 18-34 only speak to their grandparents once a month, and 24% speak to them even less amid concern over awkward silences. However, of those who have tried shared activities, like Duncan and his mum, almost half were surprised to find just how much they had in common (48%) Miles Baron, Chief Executive at The Bingo Association said of the research: 'Although age and lifestyle can sometimes feel like barriers, the desire to spend meaningful time together is something we all share - even if we're not always sure how to bridge the communication gap. It's why we wanted to shine a light on a pastime that brings people together regardless of age. 'Bingo has always been more than just numbers – it's about connection, conversation and community. Whether you're 28 or 88 it's one of the few social activities that everyone can enjoy together. This National Bingo Week we're inviting Brits to sit down, share a laugh and make some memories – because when the numbers get called, the generational gap get smaller.' For more information, visit

This Nearly 20-Year-Old Mexican Restaurant Now Hosts A Buzzy Bakery's Pop-Up
Skip to main content Current eater city: Portland, OR Portland Restaurant Openings Family-run Que Pasa Cantina is now open throughout the morning as Mi Familia, an operation from the Dos Hermanos team serving cafe de olla and motuleños Jun 26, 2025, 5:01 PM UTC Portland Restaurant Openings Family-run Que Pasa Cantina is now open throughout the morning as Mi Familia, an operation from the Dos Hermanos team serving cafe de olla and motuleños Jun 26, 2025, 5:01 PM UTC Sarah Drain and Angie Duncan celebrated their restaurant Que Pasa Cantina's 20th anniversary in March 2025, marking two decades as a neighborhood favorite for its expert margaritas, cooking inspired by Duncan's family recipes, and two outdoor patios. Now, the pair are essentially doubling the space's operations by handing the wheel to their staff for a permanent pop-up. Mi Familia Cafe, run by a squad of family members from the Dos Hermanos Bakery camp who've also worked for the Duncan and Drain over the years, opened inside the Que Pasa Cantina space in the last week of May. So far, it runs just for weekend service, Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Co-owner Jesus Azcorra, who works front and back of house, has worked at Que Pasa for about 15 years. Two of his brothers started Dos Hermanos Bakery, and Jesus is bringing in fourth brother Jaime for Mi Familia's front of house. All four approached Duncan and Drain to see if they would be open to a cafe inside the Que Pasa Cantina space. Now Jaime runs Mi Familia through the morning while Jesus still mans the kitchen at Que Pasa at night. Azcorra patriarch Gabriel 'Papa Gabe' Azcorra, the fifth family member involved, brought his breakfast recipes to the morning grill. There's menudo, chilaquiles, milanesa, and lots of cafe de olla — courtesy of local Mexico City-born roaster Adriana Lopez's Tostado Coffee. A $10 bombazo arrives picture-perfect on a sourdough English muffin stuffed with bacon, baked eggs, avocado, tomato, Swiss cheese, and cheddar. The arroz con leche, a sweet and subtle affair, comes right from the family cookbook, this one courtesy of matriarch Elodia. Once the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission license clears, Mi Familia'll serve bloody marys, mimosas, micheladas, and whatever else the brothers dream up. 'Jesus is like a son to us,' Drain says. 'He has been the heart and soul of Que Pasa for 14 years.'Indeed this is sort of a who's-who of the Portland area Mexican food industry. Gabriel and Josue Azcorra, both of whom had handled operations at wholesaler Delphina's, launched Dos Hermanos Bakery in 2018. The new Beaverton location for the bakery just opened on June 13 on SW Broadway; the family's original headquarters expanded to a much larger space than its original 1,000-square-foot facility in 2023. Dos Hermanos's baked goods, including vibrant conchas and sandwich bread, are made by some 15 total family members throughout the area. Mi Familia Cafe (1408 SE 12th Avenue, Portland) is open Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. See More: Portland Restaurant Openings

British Royal Navy shadows Russian ships through English Channel
LondoncTypeface:> Britain's Royal Navy has shadowed Russian ships as they travelled through the English Channel. Portsmouth-based destroyer HMS Duncan and patrol ship HMS Mersey were dispatched to track the movements of RFN Boikiy which was on its way back from deployment in the Gulf of Guinea. Duncan met the corvette near the island of Ushant at the south-western end of the Channel on the French coast on June 20 before HMS Mersey took over duties off the Isle of Wight. It is the latest deployment of a UK warship to follow Russian vessels. It came soon after patrol ship HMS Trent and Wildcat helicopters from 815 Naval Air Squadron shadowed RFN Admiral Grigorovich as part of joint NATO efforts as the Russian frigate sailed past Gibraltar, through the English Channel and into the North Sea, the Royal Navy said.
