Rob and Ryan react to 'Welcome to Wrexham' season finale

The much-loved award-winning fourth season came to an end on Friday (June 27) with eight episodes highlighting the highs and lows of the club's EFL League One journey. While the episode showed the Reds making history with their back-to-back-to-back promotion, it delved a little deeper into the true meaning behind the club. Young fan Archie White, battling myeloid sarcoma, a rare form of blood cancer, was the special guest on the day of promotion at the Stok Cae Ras against Charlton Athletic. I'm very proud of the finale for so many reasons. I'm proud of players, the town, the crew. But mostly I'm proud of Archie who continues to be a beacon of hope, joy and resilience for the entire world. You keep fighting, Arch. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ The episode shared an emotional visit to the football ground for Archie and his parents, meeting Rob and even scoring a goal. The brave 12-year-old watched from the box with the co-owners as Wrexham secured their place in the ELF Championship, stating 'you made this happen' to Rob. On 'X', Rob said: "I'm very proud of the finale for so many reasons. I'm proud of players, the town, the crew. Teasing advice from a 'famous American footballer', Rob said 'play like you did when you were a kid because that's all you'll remember.' Ryan claimed the TV episode was his 'favourite ever', referencing the edit showcasing the players in their youth engaging with the sport, and cutting to them playing professionally for the Reds when it mattered most - the game that secured their third consecutive promotion. Kwame Poku breaks silence on why he chose QPR over Rangers as he makes ‘next level' claim

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) KWAME POKU has revealed why he chose Queen's Park Rangers over Glasgow Rangers. The Peterborough United Player of the Year was one of Russell Martin's key transfer targets before he opted for a move to Loftus Road instead. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 1 Kwame Poku speaking to QPR TV after sealing his move Credit: QPR Poku, 23, was unveiled by the Championship side as their latest summer signing this afternoon in a major blow to the new Ibrox gaffer. The QPR social media admin rubbed salt into the wounds by trolling the Light Blues with an official announcement which read: "Kwame Poku signs for THE Rangers", followed by a winking face emoji. The Ghana international, who scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in EFL League One last year, has made the step up a division after being a standout in the third tier last season. But he also had the option of European football at Ibrox, with Martin keen to bring him in as a direct replacement for Vaclav Cerny. Poku lifted the lid on his decision to snub Gers in his first interview after becoming a QPR player. Asked why he chose the Loftus Road side, Poku said: "I think speaking to the manager, and speaking to everyone here, the project they are building here excites me and I want to be part of taking QPR to the next level. "When I was speaking to (new QPR boss) Julien Stephan he was talking about where he sees me fitting in and where he thinks I can influence the game. That's what really attracted me. "Being 23 turning 24, I'm not quite young anymore so I want to come in and make my mark from the jump." Chief executive Christian Nourry claimed his side fended off competition from across Europe to land the wide-man. He said: "His decision to join the football club today in the face of interest from Europe-competing teams abroad and Championship teams with significantly bigger budgets than us is a fantastic validation of the direction we are moving in, including a specialised focus on individual player development." New Rangers chiefs Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe's first interview Legendary Peterborough chief Barry was hopeful Poku would choose to make another English club his next home, as it meant Posh would receive a bigger development fee than if he moved across the border. And current club chairman Darragh MacAnthony said: "I am delighted that Kwame has decided to join a club whereby the football club secured a solid transfer fee and a fantastic sell-on clause to continue to share financially in his success in going to the top. "We wish Kwame and his family nothing but the best for the future." Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

The 23-year-old Guyana international made 31 Scottish Premiership appearances in total following his move from AFC Bournemouth in January 2024, but has departed the club this summer after failing to nail down a regular first team spot last season. 'Everything seemed to make sense so it's the right move at the right time to go and push on," said Moriah-Welsh upon confirmation of the move. "I always want to improve as a player and a person. I'm an energetic midfielder who wants to get up and down and likes a tackle." Moriah-Welsh has joined The Stags for an undisclosed fee. The 21-year-old Scotland youth international has spent the last two campaigns on loan to Admira Wacker in the Austrian second division, featuring a total of 43 times, but looks set to depart the club permanently this summer in search of first team football. According to the Celtic Way, former B team captain Anderson will sign a three-year-deal at the Guldensporen Stadion after undergoing a medical, with the Belgian outfit fighting off competition from EFL Leagur One club Exeter City, Austrian duo Ried and WSG Tirol and Toulouse to the signing of the youngster. Did Kaizer Chiefs sign their Steven Gerrard?

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly completed the signing of former Port Vale midfielder Ethan Chislett. ADVERTISEMENT The 26-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the option to extend with Amakhosi. Chislett is regarded as a talented player, capable of playing as a number 10, number 8, or as a wide midfielder, similar to former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard. However, Kaizer Chiefs have yet to officially announce any new signings. The team will travel to the Netherlands next month for their pre-season training, where they are scheduled to play several friendly matches. Who is this new Kaizer Chiefs signing? Chislett was born in Durban but spent most of his life in England. His father, Donovan, had a career in the Premier Soccer League. The 26-year-old spent the last two years with English club Port Vale where he made 68 appearances and scored 13 goals. ADVERTISEMENT Renowned agent Mike Makaab described the new Kaizer Chiefs player as a 'great engine'. 'I represented his father – he was a hard-working, steely type of player. But when I saw Ethan play, I watched a number of his games and highlights. Goodness me… 'He has a great engine, but his technical ability, to pass, score goals, set-pieces, it's absolutely phenomenal.' The midfielder attracted the interest of Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell and EFL League One team Wigan but the Durban-born playmaker opted to sign with Amakhosi. Kaizer Chiefs have already parted ways with five players in recent weeks. With the players back from holiday, it is a matter of time before the club announces the new faces in the squad. Wrexham fans hail Paul Mullin's impact amid loan move

Paul Mullin has become something of a legend since joining the Reds from Cambridge United in 2021. He has since scored 110 goals for the club, confirming his status as a Wrexham great. His finest season came when he netted 38 league goals in the 2022/23 season to end Wrexham's 15-year wait for a return to the English Football League as they went up as National League champions that season. But, last season saw the star striker fall down the pecking order at the club in EFL League One, and with promotion once again secured to the second tier, he has now opted for a loan move away from the club. Mullin will spend the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Wigan Athletic, who play in EFL League One. Club co-chairman Ryan Reynolds hailed his impact on the club saying that 'Wrexham would not be where they are without him'. Fans have also been paying tribute to a player who has become a firm favourite at the STok Cae Ras. The Fat Boar team, run by Rich Watkin, took to social media to write; "Will never pay for a drink in this town. SPM we salute you." TOP STORIES Anne Jones got in touch with the Leader to share her views on the move. She said: "Shine like the superstar you are Mulls. They are lucky to have you. Best of luck." Debbie Lonsdale added: "Best of luck Mullin, they are so lucky to be having you." Paul Bryan said: "Good luck to the lad, one of our best ever." Eve Guest told us; "Good luck Paul, thanks for what you did for Wrexham." Rod Jones said: "Want nothing but the best of luck for him now. A good pre season, injury free, score on league debut and have a cracking season. Give us a problem and make us want to recall you."
