Kim Kardashian's couture runway debut celebrates fashion history

At Paris Fashion Week, Kim Kardashian made a stunning surprise appearance on the runway for Balenciaga's haute couture collection. This event marked the final show by Demna Gvasalia as the brand's creative director. This closed a decade-long chapter in Balenciaga's history. Kim Kardashian's walk was a heartfelt tribute to Demna's legacy and a nod to classic Hollywood glamour, resonating well beyond the fashion capitals to audiences worldwide, including South Africa. Kardashian, aged 44, captivated the crowd in an ivory satin midi slip dress, edged with delicate lace and featuring spaghetti straps, according to E News The dress echoed 1950s lingerie styles, evoking the timeless elegance of Elizabeth Taylor. Draped over her shoulders was a cream-coloured faux fur coat. This added an air of old Hollywood sophistication. Her look was completed with a statement diamond necklace and earrings loaned by jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, famously worn by Taylor herself. Kim Kardashian's hair was styled in a classic bob reminiscent of Hollywood's golden age, enhancing the vintage-inspired ensemble. Kris Jenner, Kim's mother, shared the significance on Instagram, highlighting the inspiration behind the look. 'Kim's outfit was a stunning tribute to Elizabeth Taylor.' This homage was particularly poignant given Kardashian's long-standing admiration for Taylor. This included her acquisition of several pieces from Taylor's jewellery collection at auctions. Demna's final Balenciaga show took place at 10 Avenue George V in Paris, the birthplace of the fashion house. The intimate setting featured models moving through rooms adorned with ivory walls and monochrome curtains. This showcased a decade of Demna's signature styles, from bold ballgowns to grungy leather. Kim Kardashian, a muse and loyal supporter of Demna since 2015, fit seamlessly into this narrative. The event attracted a star-studded audience, including Cardi B, Salma Hayek, Naomi Campbell, and Katy Perry. Kim Kardashian's presence, combined with the historical jewellery and the homage to Elizabeth Taylor, created a moment that transcended fashion. It touched on cultural heritage and glamour. Kardashian's walk was a celebration of artistry, history, and transformation. In Kim Kardashian's own words shared on Instagram: 'Honoured to walk for Demna's final show. This is more than fashion, it's a legacy.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 35, and wife Sam, 58, loved up at 28 Years Later premiere

Aaron Taylor-Johnson took to the red carpet at London's London's Odeon Luxe Leicester Square this evening for the world premiere of 28 Years Later alongside his director wife Sam Taylor-Johnson. The 35-year-old Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging star – who is hotly tipped to be the next James Bond – opted for a low-neck shirt and pin-striped waistcoat for the occasion, while Back to Black director Sam, 58, looked glorious in a simple white dress and oversized sunglasses. Danny Boyle's much-anticipated movie, which is a sequel to the classic 2002 film 28 Days Later, stars Aaron alongside Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes, who all play survivors of the rage virus. The film, largely shot in Northumberland, is set 30 years after the original and shows how humanity has adapted to survive. Posing for photos together on the red carpet, leading man Aaron and Sam looked as loved up as ever 15 years into their relationship. The pair met on the set of Nowhere Boy when Aaron was 18 and Sam was 42, and at the October 2009 premiere, the unlikely couple announced their engagement. Over the years, Sam and Aaron have defended their 24-year age gap. 'He was very intense and absolutely mind made-up (about us dating)' Sam reportedly told E News previously, while he said to The Sunday Independent: 'I'm an old soul and she's a young soul.' In 2017, Sam told the Hollywood Reporter: 'If I gave a second thought to other people, I would be the unhappiest person, probably still in a miserable marriage. People like to talk about it. 'I'm like, 'Yeah, but it works better than my last marriage'. It's lasted longer than a lot of my friends' marriages.' Aaron told The Telegraph in 2019 he 'knew instantly' she was his 'soulmate'. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video He added: 'All that is my personal life, it's sacred to me and it's beautiful. But there is a lot of negativity around from other people. 'That's their problem and their issues and however they perceive life. I live my life to its fullest and I operate from my instincts and from my heart and I try to be as open as possible.' Elsewhere at the premiere Killing Eve star Jodie, 32, looked incredible in a silver floor-length gown, with moody dark eyeliner and her hair down. Danny Boyle, who has reunited with writer Alex Garland for the sequel, also appeared at the premiere wearing his trademark glasses and a navy suit. While fans of the franchise were fed 28 Weeks Later in 2007, it was without the franchise's original creative team. 28 Years Later marks the start of a trilogy, with its successor 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple set for release in January 2026. This comes as leading man Aaron is a favourite to be the next James Bond alongside other actors including Irish newcomer Paddy Gibson, Slow Horses star Jack Lowden, and Happy Valley's James Norton. 28 Years Later is out on June 20. Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly split up shortly before their daughter was born, but now fans reckon they've rekindled their romance after the Aussie's latest post on Instagram Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox's fans are convinced they're back together after welcoming their daughter into the world in March. The rapper, 35, and actress, 38, split up shortly before Megan gave birth amid rumours the mum-of-four found 'material, which was upsetting' on MGK's phone. Neither Megan or MGK have made any comment on the split, but the Aussie did praise the Transformers star in his latest Instagram post in which he revealed the name of the couple's daughter. Posting a video of himself playing the ukulele - wearing a pair of striking yellow trousers - in which the top of a baby bouncer can be seen, he told fans the tot, called Saga, had both his and Megan's surnames, with the caption: "Saga Blade Fox-Baker." An hours later, MGK updated the post to include an emotional shoutout to the Transformers star, writing: "Saga Blade Fox-Baker — thank you for the ultimate gift, @meganfox." ‌ ‌ Responding to the post, fans of the proud parents said they thought the couple had reunited as one replied: "This is so sweet! They're definitely back together" while another shared: "I think it's back on between them. I hope so!" Meanwhile, a third mused: "I reckon they're back together. I hope it lasts this time." Megan reportedly called it off with the Aussie star in December, almost three years on from their engagement after finding 'upsetting material' on his phone. They were said to be holidaying in Colorado when things blew up between them with MGK reportedly leaving their swanky hotel in Vail, according to TMZ. The pair kept a low profile until Megan gave birth in March, with sources confirmed they would be co-parenting their daughter. However, last month things seemed to be back on between the pair, as MGK left an awards show early to look after Megan, who was sick. ‌ In May, the rapper ditched the American Music Awards to support his former partner when she fell ill with "a little bit of a fever". In a rare update, MGK told reporters that he was going to walk the carpet and quickly head off to be with his family, before sweetly stating that it was his 'purpose' to be a dad. Speaking to E News on the red carpet, the Bloody Valentine singer said: 'She has a little bit of a fever, so I'm gonna walk the carpet and go back, y'know, handle my business, give her my pheromones and let her heal up'. ‌ The on-off couple are said to have met properly for the first time in 2020 while both working on the film Midnight in the Switchgrass (2021), as reported by GQ magazine, after briefly meeting years earlier at a party. Megan said they "didn't hook up right away" after reconnecting on the film set, but went on to confirm her romance with MGK later that same year, after she appeared in the music video for his song, Bloody Valentine.
