Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest live results: Joey Chestnut makes epic return
The jaws are back. The ones that belong to Joey Chestnut, the masticating machine who returns to the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest in Coney Island, New York, on Friday, July 4 after a one-year ban. The Action Network, a betting company, on Tuesday announced new data that shows Chestnut has a 93% chance of winning the contest. But slightly unscientific data from USA TODAY Sports indicates Chestnut's chances of winning are closer to 99.9%. In the last 18 years, he has failed to win the Mustard Belt two times. Once was last year — the result of a ban over a contract dispute. In 2015, he lost to Matt Stonie, who ate 62 hot dogs and buns while Chestnut inexplicably ate only 60 hot dogs and buns. Since then, "Jaws" has been on a rampage. Chestnut has eaten at least 70 hot dogs in six of the eight contests since his loss to Stonie. That includes his record-breaking 76 hot dogs in 2021. Last year, Patrick Bertoletti won the contest by eating 58 hot dogs and buns. Chestnut topped that total in every Nathan's contest he's been in since 2010. USA TODAY Sports will provide the latest updates, highlights, results and more throughout the contest. Follow along. What time is the Hot Dog Eating Contest? Miki Sudo and the women get the Nathan's Famous festivities underway at 10:45 a.m. ET. Joey Chestnut and the men take the stage around noon. Watch Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest with Fubo How to watch hot dog contest: TV channel, live stream The women's side of the competition will air on ESPN3, the digital network. ESPN2 will carry the men's competition. Miki Sudo assesses performance after winning women's contest Sudo was trying to make sense of her showing after eating 33 hot dogs and buns. That was 18 fewer than her record-breaking 51 last year and her lowest total since finishing with 30 ¾ in 2021. 'I feel like I let the fans down a little bit," Sudo told ESPN. 'I had people in the crowd saying go for 52, and obviously I'm always setting my goals high. But the hot dogs just weren't cooperating. For some reason the buns felt larger today.'' Sudo devoured eight hot dogs in the first minute, then consumed an average of less than three hot dogs per minute before the 10-minute contest was over. In the end, she had her 11th title in 11 contests. 'I guess I refuse to lose," she said. 'I refuse to give him. And even when I do stumble, I get right back up.'' Miki Sudo wins 11th women's hot dog contest title Miki Sudo won the women's contest by eating 33 hot dogs and buns, winning her 11th Nathan's contest in 11 tries. Although she won the pink belt awarded to the women's champion, her total fell well short of the record-breaking 51 she consumed in the 2024 contest. Michelle Lesco finished second with 22 ¾ hot dogs and buns and Domenica Dee finished third with 21½ in her debut at Nathan's. Joey Chestnut's return to Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest: How to watch, announcers
Balance has been restored to the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4. Joey Chestnut is back. Chestnut, winner of 16 mustard yellow belts as the man to devour the most hot dogs on America's birthday, returns to the Super Bowl of Major League Eating after being banned in 2024. His crime? Signing a deal with Impossible Foods and insisting on an exemption to use its meatless dogs instead of Nathan's. He isn't the only legend competing Friday. Miki Sudo, a 10-time champion whose winning streak on the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues could only be derailed by a 2021 pregnancy, will work to extend her legacy in the women's event. Each will have their share of challengers. Chestnut will be flanked by some of the world's greatest gurgitators as they attempt to pry glory from his bun-soaked fingers. This year's field includes No. 2 ranked eater Patrick Bertoletti -- who won last year's title in Chestnut's absence but fell 18 hot dogs and buns shy of Chestnut's world record -- No. 3 ranked eater Geoffrey Esper, No. 4 ranked eater James Webb and No. 6 ranked eater Nick Wehry. Sudo's biggest challenge may come from No. 9 ranked Michelle Lesco, who won the contest in 2021. However, Lesco's personal record of 32 dogs at Coney Island lags significantly behind the 51 Sudo crushed last summer. What time is the 2025 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest? You can watch the men's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on Friday, July 4, 2025 at noon ET, and the women's competition is set to take place at 10:45 a.m. ET. The contest is near Nathan's location in Coney Island near Brooklyn, New York. What channel is airing the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest? You can catch this year's men's contest on ESPN2. The women's contest will be broadcast live on ESPN3 (streaming) and highlights will be replayed during the men's event on ESPN2. Who are the announcers for the 2025 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest? Jeremy Schaap and Major League Eating President Rich Shea will handle hosting duties. Tiffany Greene will handle on-site reporting.

Below are where how the top sportbsooks have set the over/under for Chestnut tomorrow: DK: 71.5 (o+105; u-135) FD: 71.5 (o-112; u-112) BetMGM: 71.5 (o-120; u-105) bet365: 71.5 (o+100; u-140) ESPN BET: 71.5 (o-115; u-115) For context, here's how Chestnut did the last five times he participated in this event: 2023: 62 2022: 63 2021: 76 (Nathan's Hot Dog record)* 2020: 75 2019: 71 *The world record of 83 was set by Chestnut during a Netflix event on Labor Day of 2024. Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest Miki Sudo Over/Under Odds Most sportsbooks just offer the over/under for Sudo (instead of outrights for her and the other women's competitors) following her dominant showing in 2024. As of Wednesday afternoon, her over/under number was set between 44.5 and 46.5 at DK, BetMGM and Fanduel: DK: 46.5 (o-130; u+100) FD: 46.5 (o-112; u-112) BetMGM: 44.5 (o-125; u-105) Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest Best Bets We've got a couple picks we like in an event where a bit of line-shopping opens up some tantalizing possibilities. First of all, given that Sudo's total is currently listed at 46.5 at two top sportsbooks, there's a ton of value in Miki Sudo Over 44.5 Hot Dogs Eatern (-125 at BetMGM). We recommend a 1-unit bet there. As for Chestnut, no, I don't recommend betting on him to break his Fourth of July record of 76. But after a one-year hiatus, it shouldn't shock anyone if he comes close. Considering all of the available odds and prices, Joey Chestnut Over 71.5 Hot Dogs Eaten (+105 at DraftKings) is another solid value play worth entertaining. Let's wrap this up by checking out the Men's Outright Exact Order 1st/2nd/3rd market over at FanDuel, where even the chalkiest outcome offers a substantial payout at longer than 3-to-1 odds. The "winner" and "winner without Chestnut" markets show that we're probably looking at a coin flip between James Webb and Geoffrey Esper for third place after likely first- and second-place finishers Chestnut and Bertoletti. Making two bets in the same market rarely makes sense, but in this case, I recommend doing just that. If you put a quarter-unit on Exact Order: 1. Chestnut 2. Bertoletti 3. Webb (+350 at FD) and another 0.25u on Exact Order: 1. Chestnut 2. Bertoletti 3. Esper (+460 at FD), there's a good chance to clean up on a pair of modest wagers. If 1 unit equals $100 for you and it goes Chestnut-Bertoletti-Webb, your .25-unit bet would net you $37 in profit ($87.50 in winnings minus your $50 in wagers). And if the order is Chestnut-Bertoletti-Esper, you would come away with a profit of $65. Newsweek may earn an affiliate commission if you sign up through the links in this article.
