Magnitude 5.6 earthquake hits Davao Occidental
A magnitude 5.6 earthquake was recorded in Sarangani, Davao Occidental on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
According to an advisory from the PHIVOLCS, the earthquake occurred at 2:24 p.m. with the epicenter located 294 kilometers south of Balut Island.

The tremor had a depth of 10 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.
No damage or aftershocks are expected following the initial quake, PHIVOLCS said.
