Fans slammed Gong Jun's management over his minor injury
17 Jun - Fans of Gong Jun (aka Simon Gong) has recently slammed the actor's management, following the minor injury he sustained while filming a variety show in a foreign country.
The issue sparked last week, when it was revealed that the actor was accidentally injured during a game session while filming the show "Earth's Fresh Guest Lineup" (translated title) in Italy. It was reported that Simon was scratched on the upper part of his eyelid near the eyebrow, almost injuring his eye.
However, it took the management some time to confirm the injury, telling fans that they had to wait for information and details from Italy.
"There is a time difference and they are still sleeping over there," the management stated.
The response sparked anger among netizens, stating that not only were they slow in responding to fans' enquiry, it also meant that Simon did not have a team with him in a foreign country.
"Letting him go abroad to work alone is too irresponsible," said one netizen.
"Other guests of the show have managers and assistants with them. Why don't you? Please explain," said another.
Soon after, the company posted another update, saying that Simon had a minor scratch when he dodged during a game.
"The medical staff on the scene handled it properly as soon as possible, and communicated with the programme team as soon as the incident happened to prepare emergency measures. He is now fine", the company stated.
They also assured that "professional medical staff" are there throughout the recording of the programme.
