#SHOWBIZ: Aaron Kwok celebrates baby boy news with no-limit credit card for wife
HONG KONG: Aaron Kwok is renowned for his slick dance moves and high-octane performances, but it's his latest gesture that has truly excited fans. According to a recent report by East Week, the 59-year-old Cantopop legend upgraded his wife Moka Fang's supplementary credit card to an unlimited one after learning they're expecting their third child – and it might be a boy. If confirmed, Kwok would be the first among the Four Heavenly Kings to have a son; Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, and Leon Lai are all fathers to daughters. Kwok already has two girls, Chantalle and Charlotte, aged seven and five respectively. Netizens have been quick to congratulate Kwok, with many expressing hopes that his first son will inherit his good looks. One netizen quipped: "If my husband gave me an unlimited card just because I'm having a boy, we'd be having a very different conversation." Kwok is scheduled to perform in Macau over three weekends this month. However, he reportedly plans to return home to Hong Kong after each show to be with Fang.

In an interview with East Week magazine, Ai Wai disclosed that his emotions have been volatile following Chan's death. "After Lisa passed away, I didn't know how to face it at first," he said. The actor managed to maintain his composure during Chan's funeral on June 15. However, he was overcome with tears when the production team from the 2022 reality programme See You Again 2 brought the couple's handwritten journals from the show to be laid to rest alongside Chan. "The more you love someone, the more painful life becomes without them," he said. Despite the pain, Ai Wai knew he had to keep going and channel his grief into strength. He holds the belief that Chan hasn't truly left him. "I feel like she's still here. Just like in the movies, she'll stay by my side for a while until she's ready to move on to another realm. Thinking of it that way brings me comfort." The actor also shared that he still "hears" her voice when making simple daily decisions. "I woke up one morning and heard Lisa's voice. She still talks to me in my heart and gives me advice," he said.

#SHOWBIZ: Ronald Cheng confirms divorce proceedings with Sammie Yu, denies low child support allegation
HONG KONG: Singer-actor Ronald Cheng has confirmed he is finalising his divorce from former TV news anchor Sammie Yu, whom he married in 2011. In a news report yesterday, the couple appeared at the Wan Chai Family Court on Tuesday for a closed-door hearing regarding their separation. Cheng, 53, was accompanied by his father, while Yu, 45, arrived with friends and legal counsel. Speaking to the media after the hearing, Cheng revealed that the judge had granted him permission to issue a public statement. He also disclosed that he is currently seeking custody of their two children: a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. "I respect the court, which is why I've refrained from speaking publicly until now. The children are doing fine and are aware of the situation," Cheng said. Addressing earlier media reports, Cheng firmly denied claims that he had offered only HK$8,000 (approximately RM4,327) per month per child in support payments, calling the figure "significantly inaccurate." The claim, initially reported by East Week magazine in April, alleged that Yu found the proposed amount insufficient for covering their children's basic needs—a dispute said to have contributed to the breakdown of their marriage. "The rumour has affected me, my children, and my family," Cheng said in a statement shared on social media. "I want to clarify that we are in the process of finalising our divorce. I hope to protect our children and minimise the use of public resources." He added that the statement had been mutually agreed upon with Yu. Speculation surrounding the couple's relationship began in March when Yu posted photos of her birthday celebration without Cheng's presence. Further public interest was sparked when the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. They had previously attended another court hearing in April but declined to comment at the time.

#SHOWBIZ: HK actress Lana Wong, 94, lives on RM2k monthly legal aid
HONG KONG: Veteran Hong Kong actress Lana Wong once enjoyed a life of considerable luxury during her past relationship with the late lawyer Woo Pak-Chuen, which began when she was 18. Although they never married, she had six children with him and was reportedly lavishly cared for, receiving a monthly allowance of HK$300,000 (RM162,467). The couple later separated after a tumultuous period marked by numerous trials and tribulations. Wong, now 94, subsequently married former racer Albert Poon in 1983. In a recent interview with Hong Kong's East Week magazine, Wong revealed that she is currently struggling financially, with her savings having dwindled to less than HK$10,000 (RM5,415). "Some unscrupulous individuals took advantage of me and tricked me into surrendering the deed to my Sai Kung home," she explained. "I lost all my possessions and ended up homeless. Fortunately, a friend took me in, but I've been living under someone else's roof for years." The actress added that she has since applied for legal aid and now relies solely on a monthly old-age allowance of HK$4,195 (RM2,271) to survive. Wong had previously announced her intention to relocate to the United States with her husband in 2022. However, she decided to return to Hong Kong two years later and currently resides in a small 14.8-square metre housing unit. "At least I have a roof over my head and no longer need to live in someone else's home. That's comforting enough for someone my age," she said. "All I need is a bed and Wi-Fi for calls."
